Oscillation and asymptotic behavior of bounded solutions of functional differential equations with delay

Conditions on a(t), g(t), and f(t) have been found under which the bounded nonoscillatory solutions of the equation y⁽ⁿ⁾(t) ? a(t) y(g(t)) = f(t) approach zero. For the even order equation y⁽²ⁿ⁾(t) ? a(t) y(g(t)) = f(t) the delay is shown to be causing the oscillatory behavior.     

Magnetic moments of the low lying negative parity Λ resonances

We calculate the magnetic moments of the low lying negative-parity J ^P = 1/2^?, 3/2^? Λ resonances within the framework of chiral constituent quark model. The explicit contribution coming from the valence and sea quarks are being calculated.     

Ionization and population transfer in lithium Rydberg states with ultrashort chirped laser pulses

We present a theoretical study of dynamics of Rydberg states of lithium using ultra short chirped laser pulse having a Gaussian envelope. The population transfer probabilities are calculated of different Rydberg states on chirped laser factors. The calculations are performed by direct numerical integration of Schr?dinger equation using fourth order Runge-Kutta method. The behavior of dynamics of Rydberg states for these factors is of great significance. These results are of potential interest in coherent quantum control, quantum computation and in many physical and chemical processes.

Beta-gamma-gamma angular correlation studies of the radiations from the decay of Sb124

Beta→ gamma→ gamma angular correlation studies are done for the following two cascades in Te¹²⁴ from the decay of Sb¹²⁴.

1. Beta-rays of E_max. 622 KeV → gamma-rays of 1691 KeV→ gamma-rays of 603 KeV;
2. Beta-rays of E_max. 222 KeV → gamma-rays of 2091 KeV → gamma-rays of 603 KeV;

The multipolarities of 1691 and 2091 KeV are determined and spins of the excited levels are confirmed by beta → gamma → gamma angular correlation technique.     

Sub-Doppler excited molecule energy transfer spectroscopy

A sub-Doppler spectroscopic technique involving the detection of vibrational energy transfer in excited molecules with selected velocity components at a microphone diaphragm is demonstrated. The technique is applied to the investigation of thev ₃ R(16) transition in HCN and the results compared with a previously derived theoretical model.     

Frequency stabilized and tunable multimode He-Ne lasers

A simple modified technique for stabilizing an internal mirror multimode laser has been experimentally studied. The laser was locked with respect to different points on the gain curve. Lasers with different types of polarization configurations have been stabilized and short-term variations of about 2 MHz and a long-term drift of ±5 MHz over a period of two hours have been observed.     

First Total Synthesis and Biological Potential of a Heptacyclopeptide of Plant Origin

Synthesis of a natural glycine‐rich heptacyclopeptide ‐ mahafacyclin A ( 7 ) was accomplished by solution‐phase technique of peptide synthesis via coupling of tetrapeptide unit Boc‐L‐Thr‐L‐Ile‐L‐Leu‐Gly‐OH with tripeptide unit L‐Val‐L‐Phe‐Gly‐OMe followed by cyclization of linear heptapeptide fragment. Structure of the newly synthesized cyclopolypeptide was confirmed by means of chemical, spectroscopic analyses and subjected to antibacterial, antifungal and anthelmintic activity studies. Bioactivity results showed potent antifungal and anthelmintic activities of the synthesized peptide against dermatophytes T. mentagrophytes, M. audouinii and earthworm species M. konkanensis, P. corethruses and E. eugeniea.     

Development of an amperometric sulfite biosensor based on a gold nanoparticles/chitosan/multiwalled carbon nanotubes/polyaniline-modified gold electrode

A sulfite oxidase (SOx) purified from leaves of Syzygium cumini (Jamun) was immobilized covalently onto a gold nanoparticles (AuNPs)/chitosan (CHIT)/carboxylated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (cMWCNTs)/polyaniline (PANI) composite that was electrodeposited onto the surface of a gold (Au) electrode. A novel and highly sensitive sulfite biosensor was developed that used this enzyme electrode (SOx/AuNPs/CHIT/cMWCNT/PANI/Au) as the working electrode, Ag/AgCl as the standard electrode, and Pt wire as the auxiliary electrode. The modified electrode was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry (CV), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) before and after the immobilization of the SOx. The sensor produced its optimum response within 3 s when operated at 50 mVs⁻¹ in 0.1 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.0, and at 35 °C. The linear range and detection limit of the sensor were 0.75–400 μM and 0.5 μM (S/N = 3), respectively. The biosensor was employed to determine sulfite levels in fruit juices and alcoholic beverages. The enzyme electrode was used 300 times over a period of three months when stored at 4 °C.     

Transition magnetic moments of J~P=3/2~+ decuplet to J~P=1/2~+ octet baryons in the chiral constituent quark model

In light of the developments of the chiral constituent quark model(χ~(CQM)) in studying low energy hadronic matrix elements of the ground-state baryons, we extend this model to investigate their transition properties.The magnetic moments of transitions from the J~P=3/2~+ decuplet to J~P=1/2~+ octet baryons are calculated with explicit valence quark spin, sea quark spin and sea quark orbital angular momentum contributions. Since the experimental data is available for only a few transitions, we compare our results with the results of other available models. The implications of other complicated effects such as chiral symmetry breaking and SU(3) symmetry breaking arising due to confinement of quarks are also discussed.
