Fiber couplers made with photonic crystal fibers (PCF) are reported. Two types of PCF were fabricated by means of stacking a group of silica tubes around a silica rod and drawing them. The fiber couplers were made by use of the fused biconical tapered method. With a fiber that had five hexagonally stacked layers of air holes, a 33/67 coupling ratio was obtained, and with a one-layer four-hole fiber, a 48/52 coupling ratio was obtained. Ground-state hyperfine splittings in hydrogen and muonium are very well measured. Their difference, after correcting for magnetic moment and reduced mass effects, is due solely to proton structure-the large QED contributions for a pointlike nucleus essentially cancel. The rescaled hyperfine difference depends on the Zemach radius, a fundamental measure of the proton, computed as an integral over a product of electric and magnetic proton form factors. The determination of the Zemach radius, (1.019+/-0.016) fm, from atomic physics tightly constrains fits to accelerator measurements of proton form factors. Conversely, we can use muonium data to extract an experimental value for QED corrections to hydrogenic hyperfine data. There is a significant discrepancy between measurement and theory, in the same direction as a corresponding discrepancy in positronium. 相似文献

New polyesters were synthesized using Krebs cycle acids. Poly(1, 4-butanediol dilactate succinate)(PBDS) and poly(1, 4-butanediol dilactate 2-acetoxy succinate)(PBDAS) were prepared by the polycondensation of 1, 4-butanediol dilactate with succinic anhydride and 2-acetoxy succinic acid, respectively. Poly(1, 4-butanediol succinate)(PBS) was also synthesized from 1, 4-butanediol and succinic anhydride. PBS/PBDS and PBS/PBDAS blends were prepared by the method of solvent casting. The effects of crystallization time and temperature onto melting behavior of PBS/PBDS and PBS/PBDAS blends were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry. The compatibility of each blend system was discussed using equilibrium melting point depressions. The biodegradation behavior was studied using PBS, PBDS, and PBDAS as the sole carbon source by Aspergillus niger. The molecular weights of the polymers which were obtained from GPC analysis decreased after degradation in five weeks. 相似文献

To evaluate the effect of vorticity usually generated by curved flames on the flame stability, laminar premixed planar flames inclined in the gravitational field is asymptotically examined. The flame structure is resolved by a large activation energy asymptotics and a long wave approximation. The coupling between hydrodynamics and diffusion processes is included and near-unity Lewis number is assumed. The results show that as the flame is more inclined from the horizontal plane it shows more unstable characteristics due to not only the decrease of the stabilizing effect of gravity but also the increase of the destabilizing effect of rotational flow. Unlike the planar flame propagating downward with the right angle to the upstream flow, the obtained dispersion relation involves the Prandtl number and shows the destabilizing effect of viscosity. The analysis predicts that the phase velocity of unstable wave depends on the Lewis number as well as the flame angle and, especially for unity Lewis number, it is the same with tangential velocity at the reaction zone. For relatively short wave disturbances, still much larger than flame thickness, the most unstable wavelength is nearly independent on the flame angle and the flame can be stabilized by gravity and diffusion mechanism. 相似文献

Fine-sized ZnO–B2O3–CaO–Na2O–P2O5 glass powders with spherical shape were directly prepared by high temperature spray pyrolysis. The ZnO–B2O3–CaO–Na2O–P2O5 powders prepared by spray pyrolysis at temperatures above 1200 °C had broad peaks at around 30° in the XRD patterns. The glass transition temperatures (Tg) of the glass powders obtained by spray pyrolysis at preparation temperatures between 900 °C and 1400 °C were near 480 °C regardless of the preparation temperatures. The dielectric layers formed from the glass powders prepared by spray pyrolysis at preparation temperatures above 1300 °C had clean surface and dense inner structure at the firing temperature of 580 °C. The transmittance of the dielectric layer formed from the glass powders obtained by spray pyrolysis at preparation temperature of 1400 °C was 90% at the firing temperature of 580 °C, in which the thickness of the dielectric layer was 13 μm. The UV cutoff edges gradually shift towards longer wavelength with increasing the preparation temperature of glass powders and the firing temperature of dielectric layers. 相似文献

We consider anM/G/1 retrial queue with infinite waiting space in which arriving customers who find the server busy join either (a) the retrial group with probabilityp in order to seek service again after a random amount of time, or (b) the infinite waiting space with probabilityq(=1–p) where they wait to be served. The joint generating function of the numbers of customers in the two groups is derived by using the supplementary variable method. The reduction–carburization of tungsten trioxide (WO3) under carbon monoxide flow was studied in the temperature range of 300–750 °C. The reduction–carburization of WO3 was improved by mechanically mixing with zeolite-HX, -NaX and -KX. The interaction between cation in zeolite-X and oxygen in WO3 affected the improvement of the reduction–carburization of WO3 to WC. Moreover, the improved reduction–carburization of WO3 could lead to the decrease of reaction temperature. Because the particle size of WC is in contact with a reaction temperature, the nanophase WC can be prepared at low temperature. In particular, the particle size of WC was controlled by reaction temperature. The particle sizes of produced WC at 550, 650 and 700 °C were 25, 50 and 100 nm respectively. 相似文献

New dithienothiophene‐containing conjugated polymers, such as poly(2,6‐bis(2‐thiophenyl‐3‐dodecylthiophene‐2‐yl)dithieno[3,2‐b;2′,3′‐d]thiophene, 4 and poly(2,6‐bis (2‐thiophenyl‐4‐dodecylthiophene‐2‐yl)dithieno[3,2‐b;2′,3′‐d]thiophene, 8 have been successfully synthesized via Stille coupling reactions using dodecyl‐substituted thiophene‐based monomers, bistributyltin dithienothiophene, and bistributyltin bithiophene; these polymers have been fully characterized. The main difference between the two polymers is the substitution position of the dodecyl side chains in the repeating group. Grazing‐incidence X‐ray diffraction (GI‐XRD) gave clear evidence of edge‐on orientation of polycrystallites to the substrate. The semiconducting properties of the two polymers have been evaluated in organic thin film transistors (OTFTs). The two conjugated polymers 4 and 8 exhibit fairly high hole carrier mobilities as high as μave = 0.05 cm2/Vs (ION/OFF = 3.42 × 104) and μave = 0.01 cm2/Vs, (ION/OFF = 1.3 × 105), respectively, after thermal annealing process. The solvent annealed films underwent reorganization of the molecules to induce higher crystallinity. Well‐defined atomic force microscopy (AFM) topography supported a significant improvement in TFT device performance. The hole carrier mobilities of the solvent annealed films are comparable to those obtained for a thermally annealed sample, and were one‐order higher than those obtained with a pristine sample. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The objective of this study was to examine the biological activity of kaempferol and its rhamnosides. We isolated kaempferol (1), a-rhamnoisorobin (2), afzelin (3), and kaempferitrin (4) as pure compounds by far-infrared (FIR) irradiation of kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) leaves. The depigmenting and anti-inflammatory activity of the compounds was evaluated by analyzing their structure-activity relationships. The order of the inhibitory activity with regard to depigmentation and nitric oxide (NO) production was kaempferol (1) > a-rhamnoisorobin (2) > afzelin (3) > kaempferitrin (4). However, a-rhamnoisorobin (2) was more potent than kaempferol (1) in NF-kB-mediated luciferase assays. From these results, we conclude that the 3-hydroxyl group of kaempferol is an important pharmacophore and that additional rhamnose moieties affect the biological activity negatively. 相似文献

Kinetic studies of the addition of benzylamines to a noncyclic dicarbonyl group activated olefin, ethyl alpha-acetyl-beta-phenylacrylate (EAP), in acetonitrile at 25.0 degrees C are reported. The rates are lower than those for the cyclic dicarbonyl group activated olefins. The addition occurs in a single step with concurrent formation of the Calpha-N and Cbeta-H bonds through a four-center hydrogen bonded transition state.The kinetic isotope effects (kH/kD > 1.0) measured with deuterated benzylamines (XC6H4CH2ND2) increase with a stronger electron acceptor substituent (deltasigmaX > 0) which is the same trend as those found for other dicarbonyl group activated series (1-4), but is in contrast to those for other (noncarbonyl) group activated series (5-9). For the dicarbonyl series, the reactivity-selectivity principle (RSP) holds, but for others the anti-RSP applies. These are interpreted to indicate an insignificant imbalance for the former, but substantial lag in the resonance delocalization in the transition state for the latter series. 相似文献
