There exist many ways to build an orthonormal basis of \(\mathbb {R}^N\), consisting of the eigenvectors of the discrete Fourier transform (DFT). In this paper we show that there is only one such orthonormal eigenbasis of the DFT that is optimal in the sense of an appropriate uncertainty principle. Moreover, we show that these optimal eigenvectors of the DFT are direct analogues of the Hermite functions, that they also satisfy a three-term recurrence relation and that they converge to Hermite functions as N increases to infinity.

We classify the homogeneous nilpotent orbits in certain Lie color algebras and specialize the results to the setting of a real reductive dual pair. For any member of a dual pair, we prove the bijectivity of the two Kostant-Sekiguchi maps by straightforward argument. For a dual pair we determine the correspondence of the real orbits, the correspondence of the complex orbits and explain how these two relations behave under the Kostant-Sekiguchi maps. In particular we prove that for a dual pair in the stable range there is a Kostant-Sekiguchi map such that the conjecture formulated in [6] holds. We construct large families of initial data sets for the vacuum Einstein equations with positive cosmological constant which contain exactly Delaunay ends; these are non-trivial initial data sets which coincide with those for the Kottler–Schwarzschild–de Sitter metrics in regions of infinite extent. From the purely Riemannian geometric point of view, this produces complete, constant positive scalar curvature metrics with exact Delaunay ends which are not globally Delaunay. The ends can be used to construct new compact initial data sets via gluing constructions. The construction provided applies to more general situations where the asymptotic geometry may have non-spherical cross-sections consisting of Einstein metrics with positive scalar curvature. In the present paper we introduce a notion of the \(\mathbb {K}\)-Riemann integral as a natural generalization of a usual Riemann integral and study its properties. The aim of this paper is to extend the classical Hermite–Hadamard inequalities to the case when the usual Riemann integral is replaced by the \(\mathbb {K}\)-Riemann integral and the convexity notion is replaced by \(\mathbb {K}\)-convexity.  相似文献

We prove that the space-time developments of generic solutions of the vacuum constraint Einstein equations do not possess any global or local Killing vectors, when Cauchy data are prescribed on an asymptotically flat Cauchy surface, or on a compact Cauchy surface with mean curvature close to a constant, or for CMC asymptotically hyperbolic initial data sets. More generally, we show that nonexistence of global symmetries implies, generically, non-existence of local ones.
