Resonant ultrasound spectroscopy was used to measure the elastic constants of bcc Ta0.33V0.67 over the temperature range 3.5–300?K; the results were compared to earlier measurements on C15 TaV2. The temperature dependence of the polycrystalline shear modulus is completely different in the two phases; that of the bcc phase decreases with temperature whereas that of the C15 phases increases in an anomalous fashion. This difference is consistent with a model involving doubly-degenerate levels at the X point of the Brillouin zone in the C15 phase with the Fermi level lying near the doubly degenerate level. This model accounted for the unusual behaviour of the C15 phase. Debye temperatures were determined from the ultrasonic measurements: 295?K for the C15 phase and 315?K for the bcc phase.  相似文献

Biophysical characterization of a lectin from Ariesaema curvatum (ACL) was carried out using steady state as well as time resolved fluorescence and CD spectroscopy under various denaturing conditions. An intermediate with altered tryptophan microenvironment was detected in the phase diagram, which exibited pronounced secondary structure and hemagglutinating activity in presence of 0.25 M Gdn–HCl. An acid induced molten- globule like structure possessing activity and higher thermostability was detected. Transition to the molten globule state was reversible in nature. The lectin retained hemagglutinating activity even after incubation at 95 °C. Both chemical and thermal unfolding of the lectin were found to consist of multistate processes. Fluorescence quenching of ACL was strong with acrylamide and KI. The single tryptophan was found to be surrounded by high density of the positively charged amino acid residues as shown by a ten fold higher Ksv for KI compared to that for CsCl. The average lifetime of tryptophan fluorescence increased from 1.24 ns in the native state to 1.72 ns in the denatured state.  相似文献

Oxidation of phenols by isoquinolinium bromochromate (IQBC) in aqueous acetic acid leads to the formation of corresponding quinones. The reaction is first order with respect to both phenol and IQBC and catalysed by hydrogen ion. The rate of oxidation decreases with increase in dielectric constant of solvent indicating ion-dipole interaction. The rate of oxidation decreases with increase in concentration of KCl, this may be due to the formation of less reactive species by interaction of Cl and protonated IQBC. The specific rates of oxidizing phenol reaction correlate with substituents constants affording negative reaction constants. Hammett plot is found to be valid and the correlation between enthalpies and free energies of activation is reasonably linear with an isokinetic temperature of 320 K.  相似文献

The solution is used to find out how a currenton the cone travelling towards the apex is reflected. Some valuesof the reflection coefficient are calculated. Indole derivatives have attractive anticancer properties and may be a future hope for better anticancer drug(s) of low toxicity and high potency. In this paper, syntheses of 2-phenylindole derivatives have been described via Fischer indole synthesis through a one-pot solvent-free method. The synthesized compounds were screened for anticancer potential in vitro against murine melanoma (B16F10), human lung cancer (A549), and human breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) cell lines. The results highlighted that 2-phenylindole derivatives are also promising anticancer agents in case of melanoma and lung cancer along with the breast cancer. Molecular docking analyses with possible targets for melanoma (NEDD4-1) and lung cancer (EGFR) were also performed to understand specific interactions of 2-phenylindole derivatives with the amino acid residues of the receptors.  相似文献

Evanescent wave configuration has been extensively used in the development of fiber-optic sensor for different biomedical applications. In the present investigation we have theoretically proposed the designing of single-mode and multimode optical fiber sensing probes, which can be prepared by removing a few centimeters of cladding near the distal end of the step index optical fiber. In this theoretical study, we found that the removal of cladding causes V-number mismatching and this has led to the loss of signal acquisition from the sensing region. Therefore, to minimize these losses we have proposed to reduce the radius by step etch and tapering technique. It was found that step etching and tapering enhances the strength and penetration depth of the evanescent wave significantly.  相似文献
