Eigenspace-based source number estimation for direction-of-arrival estimation

A eigenspace-based source number estimation was presented.It projects the estimated covariance matrix of array signal into signal eigen-subspace and noise eigen-subspace, respectively.Using the orthogonality between signal eigen-subspace and noise eigen-subspace, it is easy to differentiate the contribution of signal and noise by using the criterion value,or the magnitude of projection.Like the Direction-of-Arrival(DOA) estimation algorithm,the estimator uses the eigenvalue decomposition of covariance matrix with order M×M,where M is the number of elements,and hence can save much computational burden.To reduce more computational burden,the estimation can be implemented by the decomposition in the real-value space.Computer simulation demonstrates the distribution of criterion value and the performance of the estimation method.The estimation method was also tested with the sonar data,which shows good performances.     

Preparation and characterization of bifunctional, Fe3O4/ZnO nanocomposites and their use as photocatalysts

Bifunctional magnetic-optical Fe₃O₄/ZnO nanocomposites with different molar ratio were successfully synthesized by a facile two-step strategy. Compared with the other methods, it was found to be mild, inexpensive, green, convenient and efficient. Fe₃O₄ nanocrystal was used as seed for the deposit and growth of ZnO nanoparticle. A series of the characterizations manifested that the combination of Fe₃O₄ with ZnO nanoparticles was successful. Photocatalytic activity studies confirmed that as-prepared nanocomposites had excellent photodegradating behavior to Methyl Orange (MO) compared to the pure ZnO nanoparticles. The results showed that the degradation percentage of MO was about 93.6% for 1 h when the amount of catalyst was 0.51 g L⁻¹ and initial concentration of MO was 6 × 10⁻⁵ mol L⁻¹ in the pH 7 solution. Moreover, the kinetics of photocatalytic degradation reaction could be expressed by the first-order reaction kinetic model. Furthermore, the Fe₃O₄/ZnO nanocomposites could be also served as convenient recyclable photocatalysts because of their magnetic properties.     

Theoretical study of cisplatin adsorption on silica

The adsorption of cisplatin and its complexes, cis-[PtCl(NH₃)₂]⁺ and cis-[Pt(NH₃)₂]²⁺, on a SiO₂(1 1 1) hydrated surface has been studied by the Atom Superposition and Electron Delocalization method. The adiabatic energy curves for the adsorption of the drug and its products on the delivery system were considered. The electronic structure and bonding analysis were also performed. The molecule-surface interactions are formed at expenses of the OH surface bonds. The more important interactions are the Cl-H bond for cis-[PtCl₂(NH₃)₂] and cis-[PtCl(NH₃)₂]⁺ adsorptions, and the Pt-O interaction for cis-[Pt(NH₃)₂]²⁺ adsorption. The Cl p orbitals and Pt s, p y d orbitals of the molecule and its complexes, and the s H orbital and, the s and p orbitals of the O atoms of the hydrated surface are the main contribution to the surface bonds.

Synchronization of complex community networks with nonidentical nodes and adaptive coupling strength

In this Letter, the complex dynamical networks with community structure and nonidentical nodes are considered. The globally asymptotical synchronization of the time-delayed complex community networks onto any uniformly smooth state is studied. Some simple and useful criteria are derived by constructing an effective control scheme and adjusting automatically the adaptive coupling strength. Finally, the developed techniques are applied to two complex community networks which are respectively synchronized to a chaotic trajectory and a periodic orbit, and numerical simulations are provided to show the feasibility of the developed methods.     

Two Optimal General Classes of Iterative Methods with Eighth-Order

Two new three-step classes of optimal iterative methods to approximate simple roots of nonlinear equations, satisfying the Kung-Traub’s conjecture, are designed. The development of the methods and their convergence analysis are provided joint with a generalization of both processes. In order to check the goodness of the theoretical results, some concrete methods are extracted and numerical and dynamically compared with some known methods.     

Stability of Displacement to the Second Fundamental Problem in Plane Elasticity

In this article, by using the stability of Cauchy type integral when the smooth perturbation for integral curve and the Sobolev type perturbation for kernel density happen, we discuss the stability of the second fundamental problem in plane elasticity when the smooth perturbation for the boundary of the elastic domain (unit disk) and the Sobolev type perturbation for the displacement happen. And the error estimate of the displacement between the second fundamental problem and its perturbed problem is obtained.     

Shrinking and boundedly complete Schauder frames in Fréchet spaces

We study Schauder frames in Fréchet spaces and their duals, as well as perturbation results. We define shrinking and boundedly complete Schauder frames on a locally convex space, study the duality of these two concepts and their relation with the reflexivity of the space. We characterize when an unconditional Schauder frame is shrinking or boundedly complete in terms of properties of the space. Several examples of concrete Schauder frames in function spaces are also presented.     

Mild solutions of non-autonomous second order problems with nonlocal initial conditions

In this paper we establish the existence of mild solutions for a non-autonomous abstract semi-linear second order differential equation submitted to nonlocal initial conditions. Our approach relies on the existence of an evolution operator for the corresponding linear equation and the properties of the Hausdorff measure of non-compactness.
