Dibenzotetraaza (DBTA) crown ethers possess two o-phenylenediamine moieties. They are homologues of dibenzo crown ether phase-transfer catalysts and were prepared from the condensation of benzimidazoles with oligo(ethyleneglycol) dichlorides and oligo(ethyleneglycol) ditosylates. Compounds with ring sizes ranging from 18-crown-6 to 42-crown-14 were prepared. In addition, various altered benzimidizoles were used to produce DBTA crown ethers with modified substituents and ether bridges, as well as benzimidazolidine crown ethers. The synthetic approach presented here proved to be a convenient route to a new family of crown ethers with overall yields of up to 48% based on the benzimidazole. Yields for the ring-closing step were generally high, ranging from 51% to 94%, without the need for high-dilution conditions. Reaction of the DBTA crown ethers with alkyl and benzyl halides was found to be a facile way to obtain the corresponding tetra(N-organyl) compounds. Picrate extraction studies were carried out to determine phase-transfer catalytic capabilities. Extraction efficiencies for alkali-metal ions were lower than those for dibenzo-18-crown-6. Efficiencies were higher for other metal ions, with some selectivity for Pb(2+). Tetra(N-methyl) DBTA-18-crown-6 generally exhibited higher extraction efficiencies than its N-H analogue, but the selectivity was lower.  相似文献

We report, for the first time, a theoretical prediction of the (129)Xe nuclear magnetic resonance chemical shift tensor of xenon atom in a single crystal of silicalite at near-zero occupancy and the temperature dependence of the Xe NMR chemical shift tensor for the polycrystalline silicalite at maximum occupancy. The former is a measure of the sensitivity of the Xe tensor components to the local structure of the channels without Xe-Xe contributions. The latter is a measure of the sensitivity of the Xe-Xe tensor components to the Xe-Xe distributions, as determined by the Xe-Xe potential function in competition with the Xe-silicalite potential function. Both theoretical predictions can be compared against Xe NMR experiments: the first against the Xe spectra collected as a function of rotation of the single crystal about the three crystalline axes in a magnetic field, and the second against variable temperature Xe NMR studies (below room temperature) of polycrystalline silicalite at maximum Xe occupancy. With the same parameter set (Xe-O potential and shielding functions), we predict the line shapes of Xe in SSZ-24 zeolite under various conditions of occupancy and temperature.  相似文献

Humic substances are precursors of carcinogenic trihalomethanes (THMs) formed during disinfection by chlorination in water treatment processes. In an effort to understand the relationship between trihalomethane formation potential (THMFP) and physicochemical properties of humic substances, UV-visible absorbance, fluorescence in emission and synchronous scan modes, and NMR spectra were measured for several aquatic fulvic and humic acids. For comparison, a soil fulvic acid was also examined using these methods. The feasibility of the gradient modified spin-echo (GOSE) NMR experiment to selectively measure singlet resonances arising from isolated protons was examined. In addition, diffusion coefficients were measured for DMSO solutions of the fulvic acids using BPPLED and GOSE-edited pulse sequences. Although none of the methods tested produced results that correlated with THMFP, the GOSE intensities determined for different regions of the NMR spectra did reflect the relative abundance of different types of functional groups produced by lignin oxidation. In addition, the GOSE-edited diffusion results suggest that the isolated protons, those most reactive to chlorination, are more likely contained in the larger molecular weight fractions of fulvic acids.  相似文献

The Au-S interaction is probably the most intensively studied interaction of Au surfaces with nonmetals, as, for example, it plays an important role in Au ore formation(1) and controls the structure and dynamics of thiol-based self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). Various S-induced surface structures on Au(111) were recently reported for different conditions and predominantly interpreted in terms of a static Au surface. Here, we demonstrate that the Au(111) surface exhibits a very dynamic character upon interaction with adsorbed sulfur: large-scale surface restructuring and incorporation of Au atoms into a growing 2D AuS phase were observed in situ. These results provide new insight into the Au-S surface chemistry.  相似文献

Solid-state structures have been determined for cis- and trans-1-cyclohexyl-2-phenyl-3-(p-toluyl)aziridines using single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The cis isomer crystallizes in the centrosymmetric monoclinic space group P21/c (No. 14), with a = 18.669(3)Å, b = 5.709(1)Å, c = 17.412(2)Å, β = 96.29(1)° and Z = 4; the trans isomer crystallizes in the noncentrosymmetric orthorhombic space group Pna21 (No. 33), with a = 17.089(2)Å, b = 18.729(3)Å, c = 5.749(1)Å and Z = 4. Full-matrix least-squares refinement of the structural parameters led to the following final agreement factors: R1 (unweighted, based on F) = 0.040 and R2 (weighted, based on F) = 0.054 for the 2592 independent reflections of the cis isomer having 2θMoK¯α <55° and I>3σ1, and R1 = 0.033 and R2 = 0.031 for the 1504 independent reflections of the trans isomer having 2θMoK¯α <55° and I>3σ1. The statistically significant differences that exist between the two isomers for two bond lengths and ten bond angles (p < 0.05) appear to be the direct result of the p-toluyl group orientation with respect to the cyclohexyl and phenyl substituents. In the cis isomer it is anti with respect to the N-cyclohexyl group and cis with respect to the phenyl group, whereas in the trans isomer it is syn with respect to the N-cyclohexyl and trans with respect to the phenyl group. Three-ring to carbonyl hyperconjugation is correlated with stereoelectronic interactions in the trans isomer. Bonding, determined by X-ray and nmr studies, is discussed for the three-membered aziridine ring proper; while bonding, determined by X-ray studies, is discussed for substituents of the aziridine ring. These aziridinyl ketone compounds are of importance as potential mammalian DNA alkylating anti-tumor agents in solid-state solid-state systems. To date only a trans isomer has demonstrated this biological activity in tumor-bearing rats.  相似文献

A new apparatus for mixing sample and reagent in flow injection analysis (FIA) is described. The continuously variable volume reactor (CVVR) replaces the conventional mixing coil in a flow injection (FI) manifold to provide mixing and dilution. A linear actuator motor allows control of the chamber volume via LabVIEW software. The chamber volume can be incremented in steps of 1 μl over the range 68-1704 μl. In addition, the chamber has an integral variable-speed stirring unit that is also under computer control. Experiments were performed to evaluate the dispersion characteristics of this new device, evaluate the volume reproducibility, and understand the mixing characteristics. Use of the chamber is shown in the determination of iron(II) in pond water, and in NIST SRM 1643d with excellent results and a detection limit of 3.7 μg/l iron(II). Advantages of the CVVR and future research activities using the device are discussed.  相似文献

Fused salt electrolysis has been used to prepare a number of reduced oxides of molybdenum with lanthanum, neodymium, and yttrium in single crystal or oriented polycrystalline form. The average valence of molybdenum in the various compounds ranged from 5.67 to 3.50. Previously unreported compounds include La5Mo4O16 (triclinica = 5.64 Å,b = 20.7 0Å,c = 5.64 Å, α = 86.55°, β = 90.0°, γ = 93.45°); La2Mo2O7 (orthorhombic,a = 12.19 Å,b = 6.05 Å,c = 3.87 Å); LaMo2O5 (hexagonal,a = 8.378 Å,c = 19.26 Å). In addition, single crystal specimens have been prepared of Y2MoO5,Ln5Mo3O16(Ln =La, Nd) and metal atom cluster compounds of theA2Mo3O8 type (A = Mg, Co, Ni, Zn).  相似文献

Sodium triacetoxyborohydride is presented as a general reducing agent for the reductive amination of aldehydes and ketones. Procedures for using this mild and selective reagent have been developed for a wide variety of substrates. The scope of the reaction includes aliphatic acyclic and cyclic ketones, aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes, and primary and secondary amines including a variety of weakly basic and nonbasic amines. Limitations include reactions with aromatic and unsaturated ketones and some sterically hindered ketones and amines. 1,2-Dichloroethane (DCE) is the preferred reaction solvent, but reactions can also be carried out in tetrahydrofuran (THF) and occasionally in acetonitrile. Acetic acid may be used as catalyst with ketone reactions, but it is generally not needed with aldehydes. The procedure is carried out effectively in the presence of acid sensitive functional groups such as acetals and ketals; it can also be carried out in the presence of reducible functional groups such as C-C multiple bonds and cyano and nitro groups. Reactions are generally faster in DCE than in THF, and in both solvents, reactions are faster in the presence of AcOH. In comparison with other reductive amination procedures such as NaBH(3)CN/MeOH, borane-pyridine, and catalytic hydrogenation, NaBH(OAc)(3) gave consistently higher yields and fewer side products. In the reductive amination of some aldehydes with primary amines where dialkylation is a problem we adopted a stepwise procedure involving imine formation in MeOH followed by reduction with NaBH(4).  相似文献

We report here a liquid chromatography (LC) method with inline ultraviolet/evaporative light scattering (UV/ELS) detection for the simultaneous quantification of the terpenelactones and flavonol aglycones in a single sample of hydrolyzed Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE). The sample is hydrolyzed by a rapid and convenient oven heating method for 1 h at 90 degrees C with 10% hydrochloric acid. The 1 h hydrolysis was found to be equivalent to the 2.25 h reflux treatment for dry powder extract, where total flavonol glycosides were 28.4 and 28.1%, respectively. Acceptable precision was achieved for total terpenelactones [relative standard deviation (RSD) = 4.8%] by ELS detection, and total flavonol aglycones (RSD = 2.3%) by UV detection. The analytical range was 1.5 to 7.3% (w/w) for the individual terpenelactones (ELS) and 2.5 to 15.0% (w/w) for the individual glycosides (UV) calculated from the aglycones quercetin, kaempferol, and isorhamnetin. This improved method allows for the first time high throughput sample preparation coupled with the quantification of the predominant compounds generally used for quality control of GBE in a single assay.  相似文献

The growth of titanium oxide nanoparticles on reconstructed Au(111) was investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Ti was deposited by physical-vapor deposition at 300 K. Regular arrays of titanium nanoparticles form by preferential nucleation of Ti at the elbow sites of the herringbone reconstruction. The titanium oxide nanoclusters were synthesized by subsequent exposure to O(2) at 300 K. Two-and three-dimensional titanium oxide nanocrystallites form during annealing in the temperature range from 600 to 900 K. At the same time, the Au(111) surface assumes a serrated 110-oriented step-edge morphology suggesting step-edge pinning by titanium oxide nanoparticles. The oxidation state of the titanium oxide nanoparticles varies with annealing temperature. Specifically, annealing to 900 K results in the formation of stoichiometric TiO(2) nanocrystals as judged by the Ti(2p) binding energies measured in the x-ray photoelectron data. The nanodispersed TiO(2) on Au(111) is an ideal system to test the various models proposed for the enhanced catalytic reactivity of supported Au nanoparticles.  相似文献
