The main objective of this paper is to report the room temperature hardness and elastic modulus of the RuSr2GdCu2O8 superconductor phase by instrumented indentation. Polycrystalline samples were produced by a solid state reaction technique. The samples were also characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and electrical resistivity measurements. The influence of porosity on the mechanical properties was avoided by considering only those indentations inside the grains. The hardness and elastic modulus were 8.6 GPa and 145 GPa, respectively. These values are comparable with those of Y-123. The indentation fracture toughness evaluated after conventional Vickers indentation was 1.9 MPa m1/2.  相似文献

Silicone-based additives have been used as fire retardants for thermoplastics with the advantageous of improving the processing and the impact resistance of the polymers. In this work the influence of these additives on the curing kinetics of a vinyl ester resin was studied. Three silicone-based additives were used to modify the properties of the vinyl ester resin. The principal differences between them are the functional groups inserted in the polydimethylsiloxane chains. The additives were dispersed in the resin containing a commonly used mixture of initiator and catalyst methylethylKetone peroxide and cobalt-II octanoate, respectively. For some reactional mixtures N,N-dimethylaniline (DMA) was used as promoter. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to perform the non-isothermal cure of the non-modified resin and of the resins modified with the additives. Ozawa´s, Kissinger´s and Ozawa´s isoconversional methods were used to determine the kinetic parameters. For resin cured in absence of DMA the silicone-based additives act as retardants for the curing reaction, a typical diluent effect, while in presence of this promoter the reaction enthalpy as well as the reaction rate were improved. This effect was attributed to specific interactions and reactions between DMA and the silicone-based additives that changed the curing mechanism as well as controlled the phase segregation.  相似文献

A single-drop microextraction (SDME) procedure was developed for the analysis of organophosphorus and pyrethroid pesticides in water by gas chromatography (GC) with flame ionization detection (GC-FID). The significant parameters that affect SDME performance, such as the selection of microextraction solvent, solvent volume, extraction time, and stirring rate, were studied and optimized using a tool screening factorial design. The limits of detection (LODs) in water for the four investigated compounds were between 0.3 and 3.0 μg L−1, with relative standard deviations ranging from 7.7 to 18.8%. Linear response data were obtained in the concentration range of 0.9-6.0 μg L−1 (λ-cyhalothrin), 3.0-60.0 μg L−1 (methyl parathion), 9.0-60.0 μg L−1 (ethion), and 9.0-30.0 μg L−1 (permethrin), with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.9337 to 0.9977. The relative recoveries for the spiked water ranged from 73.0 to 104%. Environmental water samples (n = 26) were successfully analyzed using the proposed method and methyl parathion presented concentration up to 2.74 μg L−1. The SDME method, coupled with GC-FID analysis, provided good precision, accuracy, and reproducibility over a wide linear range. Other highlights of the method include its ease of use and its requirement of only small volumes of both organic solvent and sample.  相似文献

We introduce a new tuberculosis (TB) mathematical model, with 25 state-space variables where 15 are evolution disease states (EDSs), which generalises previous models and takes into account the (seasonal) flux of populations between a high incidence TB country (A) and a host country (B) with low TB incidence, where (B) is divided into a community (G) with high percentage of people from (A) plus the rest of the population (C). Contrary to some beliefs, related to the fact that agglomerations of individuals increase proportionally to the disease spread, analysis of the model shows that the existence of semi-closed communities are beneficial for the TB control from a global viewpoint. The model and techniques proposed are applied to a case-study with concrete parameters, which model the situation of Angola (A) and Portugal (B), in order to show its relevance and meaningfulness. Simulations show that variations of the transmission coefficient on the origin country has a big influence on the number of infected (and infectious) individuals on the community and the host country. Moreover, there is an optimal ratio for the distribution of individuals in (C) versus (G), which minimizes the reproduction number \(R_0\). Such value does not give the minimal total number of infected individuals in all (B), since such is attained when the community (G) is completely isolated (theoretical scenario). Sensitivity analysis and curve fitting on \(R_0\) and on EDSs are pursuit in order to understand the TB effects in the global statistics, by measuring the variability of the relevant parameters. We also show that the TB transmission rate \(\beta \) does not act linearly on \(R_0\), as it is common in compartment models where system feedback or group interaction do not occur. Further, we find the most important parameters for the increase of each EDS.  相似文献

Tractor manufacturers already offer engine - transmission control systems in which the operator decides whether low fuel consumption or high output is the priority and let a control system provide engine and transmission management. Less sophisticated tractors, as well as older equipment, still rely on the operator awareness upon what driving parameters most enhance efficiency. The objective of this study is to analyse the effect of driving parameters, namely forward speed and engine speed on the overall power efficiency. The overall power efficiency of a tractor performing drawbar work is the ratio between the output power at the drawbar and the energy equivalent of the fuel consumed per unity of time. Experimental data obtained from tractor field tests in real farm conditions, within the range of 0.2-0.4 for the vehicle traction ratio (ratio of the drawbar pull to the total weight of the tractor), show that increments of 10-20% on the overall power efficiency can be obtained by throttling down from 2200 min−1 to 1750 min−1 (idle speed). The reduction in ground speed and therefore in the work rate, may be overcome by shifting up the transmission ratio.  相似文献

Our main result is a Jenkins-Serrin type theorem which establishes necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of certain minimal vertical graphs in M × ℝ. This study reports the methodology used to search, select and characterize STR loci on the canine X chromosome using publicly available genome resources and following the current guidelines for human and non‐human forensic testing. After several rounds of selection, 12 X‐STR markers were optimized for simultaneous co‐amplification in a single PCR, and genetic profiles were determined in a sample of 103 unrelated dogs. Mendelian inheritance was verified and mutation rates were assessed using family groups. Alleles that varied in size were sequenced to create a standardized nomenclature proposal based on the number of repeats. All loci conformed to Hardy–Weinberg expectations. The resulting panel showed high forensic efficiency, presenting high values of power of discrimination (in males and females) and mean exclusion chance, both in trios involving female offspring and in duos composed of dam and male offspring. Its use may complement the information obtained by autosomal STR analysis and contribute to the resolution of complex cases of kinship in dogs. The presented methodology for the de novo construction of an STR multiplex may also provide a helpful framework for analogous work in other animal species. As an increasing number of reference genomes become available, convenient tools for individual identification and parentage testing based on STR loci selected from autosomes or sex chromosomes' sequences may be created following this strategy.  相似文献

This work aimed to produce improved polymer coatings for the modification of thin mercury film electrodes (TMFEs). The goal is to obtain sensitive, reproducible, mechanically stable and antifouling devices suitable for the determination of trace metal cations in complex media. Therefore, novel mixed coatings of two sulfonated cation-exchange polymers of dissimilar characteristics-Nafion (NA) and poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS)-were produced by solvent evaporation onto glassy carbon electrodes. The effect of the mass ratio (NA:PSS) on the film morphology was studied by scanning electron microscopy, revealing the formation of biphasic polymer systems, where PSS bead-shaped clusters appeared randomly dispersed into a uniform and compact NA environment. The permselectivity/ion-exchange features of the mixed films onto glassy carbon were evaluated using cathecol, urate, and dopamine. To allow trace metal analysis, thin mercury films were plated through the NA/PSS coatings, being the reproducibility and ion-exchange features of the mixed coatings-TMFE evaluated using lead ions. The best NA/PSS coating was found for the mass ratio of 5.3. Analytical performance of the NA/PSS-TMFE yielded a detection limit of 5.5 nM (3sigma), and the application of this modified electrode to an untreated polluted estuarine water sample produced significant improvements in the quality of the signal compared with that for a bare TMFE.  相似文献

The thermal stability of poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone-co-methacrylic acid) copolymers was studied by thermogravimetry and infrared spectroscopy in inert atmosphere. The thermogravimetric curves suggested that the effective degradation of both systems occurred in the temperature range 350–500 °C with more than 60% mass loss. At this temperature, the activation energy was in the range 160–200 kJ mol−1 (average values), suggesting that the degradation occurred by a random scission of the chain. The FTIR results indicated that the main volatile products of degradation are CO2, CO and hydrocarbons (unsaturated structures) with low molecular weight. Pure PVP also showed the formation of NH3 which was apparently suppressed in the copolymer by the formation of large amounts of CO2 and CO. The results suggested that the thermal stability of the copolymers was essentially associated with the N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone monomer, losing stability when the percentage of methacrylic acid in the copolymer system was increased.  相似文献
