The synthesis and characterization of aromatic polyamides containing oxyethylene units is reported, and the differences observed in polycondensation yields, molecular weights, and molecular weight distributions, as a function of the method of synthesis, are discussed. Four diamines containing oxyethylene units and aromatic rings, meta and para oriented, and their corresponding hydrochlorides were prepared as condensation monomers to be combined with isophthaloyl chloride (IPC) and terephthaloyl chloride (TPC). High molecular weight polyamides were obtained by interfacial and low-temperature solution methods. Values of (OVERLINE)M(/OVERLINE)n up to 6 × 104 g/mol and (OVERLINE)M(/OVERLINE)w up to 2 × 105 g/mol could be measured by gel permeation chromatography using aromatic polyamide standards, and values of (OVERLINE)M(/OVERLINE)n up to 2 × 105 g/mol and (OVERLINE)M(/OVERLINE)w up to 5 × 105 g/mol by using polystyrene standards. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

We studied the production of fatty acid ethyl esters from castor oil using n-hexane as solvent and two commercial lipases, Novozym 435 and Lipozyme IM, as catalysts. For this purpose, a Taguchi experimental
design was adopted considering the following variables: temperature (35–65°C), water (0–10 wt/wt%), and enzyme (5–20 wt/wt%)
concentrations and oil-to-ethanol molar ratio (1∶3 to 1∶10). An empirical model was then built so as to assess the main and
cross-variable effects on the reaction conversion and also to maximize biodiesel production for each enzyme. For the system
containing Novozym 435 as tatalyst the maximum conversion obtained was 81.4% at 65°C, enzyme concentration of 20 wt/wt%, water

Analysis of amino acids in latent fingerprint residue by capillary electrophoresis‐mass spectrometry

The analysis of the chemical composition of fingerprints is important for the development and improvement of existing fingerprint enhancement techniques. This study demonstrates the first analysis of a latent fingerprint sample, using an optimized CE‐MS method. In total 12 amino acids were detected in the fingerprint sample. MS/MS fragmentation was used to provide additional identity confirmation, for which eight of the twelve detected amino acids generated confirmatory product ions. Nine amino acids were quantified and their relative abundances were consistent with previous studies with serine and glycine being the most abundant. The successful detection of amino acids from latent fingerprints demonstrates that CE‐MS is a potential future technique for further study of such compounds in fingerprint samples. 相似文献

This article describes the synthesis and characterization of two diacid monomers, each containing a benzo‐15‐crown‐5 subunit or its dipodal counterpart. Both novel monomers were reacted with technical aromatic diamines with Yamazaki's direct polyamidation method to render modified polyisophthalamides with high molecular weights containing side moieties of cyclic and acyclic ethylene oxide sequences. All the polymers were soluble in aprotic polar solvents and showed high glass‐transition temperatures in the range of 190–345 °C. The polymers with side crown ethers showed much higher glass‐transition temperatures than those with acyclic linear side ethylene oxide arms. The chemical composition, particularly with respect to the diamine and the open or closed character of the pendent ethylene oxide sequence, also affected other general properties such as the mechanical resistance, mechanical modulus, or water absorption. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Herein we report the one-pot synthesis of several N-heterocyclic compounds by rearrangement reactions of N-aryl-2-vinylaziridines. The optimization of the synthetic methodology employed allowed us to obtain differently substituted 2,5-dihydro-1H-benzo[b]azepines in good yields and purities. The relationship between the nature of the starting N-aryl-2-vinylaziridine and the obtained N-heterocycle was also investigated. Novel aromatic polyamides have been prepared by a combination of diacids containing preformed benzimidazole rings and aromatic diamines. By the phosphorylation method of polycondensation, polymers of high molecular weight (inherent viscosities between 0.81 and 2.13 dL/g) were obtained, which showed good solubility in polar aprotic solvents. The combination of aromatic amide linkages and benzimidazole rings along the polymer chain endowed the polymers with high thermal resistance and excellent mechanical properties. Glass transition temperatures fell in the range of 290–330 °C as measured by differential scanning calorimetry, and initial decomposition temperatures under nitrogen were over 480 °C as measured by thermogravimetric analysis. Some polymer films showed outstanding tensile strength (over 150 MPa) and moduli (up to 5 GPa). The presence of benzimidazole rings in the current polyamides greatly enhanced their hydrophilicity in comparison with classical wholly aromatic polyamides; thus, although aromatic polyamide films normally show water sorption values of only 4–8%, some of the current poly(benzimidazole amide)s show water sorption up to 19% in a 65% relative humidity atmosphere. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The article is devoted to the study of the relation between forward and pullback attractors of set-valued nonautonomous dynamical systems (cocycles). Here it is proved that every compact global forward attractor is also a pullback attractor of the set-valued nonautonomous dynamical system. The inverse statement, generally speaking, is not true, but we prove that every global pullback attractor of an α-condensing set-valued cocycle is always a local forward attractor. The obtained general results are applied while studying periodic and homogeneous systems. We give also a new criterion of the absolute asymptotic stability of nonstationary discrete linear inclusions.

The paper deals with optical and electronic properties of the aluminophosphate glasses containing Fe–Mn and Fe–Cr ion pairs in different concentration. The influence of the mixed alkali ions over the electronic properties has been investigated. The optical behavior (optical transmission) of the glass samples has been studied by UV-VIS spectroscopy and the refractive index dependency on wavelength has been discussed. The transmission spectra show features specific for the doping transition ions (TM), revealing different oxidation states of iron (Fe2+/Fe3+), manganese (Mn2+/Mn3+) and chromium (Cr3+/Cr6+) in the vitreous network. Mössbauer spectroscopy offers information regarding the TM oxidation states, redox processes and the iron coordination symmetry in the vitreous network. In the case of Fe–Mn doped glasses, the percentage of Fe2+ is about 40% and a doubled iron content leads to an increasing of Fe2+ percentage up to 53%. The replacing of lithium ions by natrium ions (mixed alkali effect) provides an increasing of the Fe2+ percentage up to 56%. The occurrence of the tetrahedral or octahedral symmetry of Fe2+ ions bonded by O2? ions depends on the transition ion nature and Li+/Na+ ratio. Infrared absorption spectra of the pair transition ions-doped aluminophosphate glasses reveal optical phonons specific for the phosphate glass matrix. 相似文献

Recent combined experimental and theoretical studies (Beck et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 2004, 93, 036104) have provided evidence for Ti=O double-bonded titanyl groups on the reconstructed rutile TiO(2)(011)-(2 x 1) surface. The adsorption of water on the same surface is now investigated to further probe the properties of these groups, as well as to confirm their existence. Ultraviolet photoemission experiments show that water is adsorbed in molecular form at a sample temperature of 110 K. At the same time, the presence of a 3sigma state in the photoemission spectra and work function measurements indicate a significant amount of hydroxyls within the first monolayer of water. At room temperature, scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) suggests that dissociated water is present, and about 30% of the surface active sites are hydroxylated. These findings are well explained by total energy density functional theory calculations and Car-Parrinello molecular dynamics simulations for water adsorption on the titanyl model of TiO(2)(011)-(2 x 1). The theoretical results show that a mixed molecular/dissociative layer is the most stable configuration in the monolayer regime at low temperatures, while complete dissociation takes place at 250 K. The arrangement of the protonated mono-coordinated oxygens in the mixed molecular/dissociated layer is consistent with the observed short-range order of the hydroxyls in the STM images. 相似文献
