We propose several schemes for implementing a fast two-qubit quantum gate for neutral atoms with the gate operation time much faster than the time scales associated with the external motion of the atoms in the trapping potential. In our example, the large interaction energy required to perform fast gate operations is provided by the dipole-dipole interaction of atoms excited to low-lying Rydberg states in constant electric fields. A detailed analysis of imperfections of the gate operation is given.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation of the substituent effects on the two-center, three-electron (2c-3e) bond involved between unsaturated functional groups and an amine nitrogen is presented. The competitive hydrogen-bonded complexes are also studied. In both cases, the bond energies are found to be in the range of 20-30 kcal mol(-1). The variation of these energies is discussed with respect to the electron-donating effect of the substitutents, as well as with respect to the alpha-bonded atom of the organic functional group (O, S, NH). For the 2c-3e bonds, the results are discussed on the basis of the differences of the ionization potential (delta IP) of the separated fragments and can be rationalized through the valence bond theory. For the hydrogen bonds, the substituent influence is discussed by using the differences of the proton affinities (delta PA) of the substrates. The resonating nature of the hydrogen bond in these cationic systems is investigated and is found to account for most of the binding energy. Marcus theory is compared with the proposed resonating model.  相似文献

We have investigated the continuous hydrothermal synthesis and crystallization of spinel CoFe2O4 via the reaction of ferric nitrate and cobalt nitrate with sodium hydroxide. The reaction was carried out in water at temperatures ranging from 475 to 675 K and pressures of 25 MPa. The relative solubility of the precipitating cations was found to play a critical role in attaining the correct product. It was found necessary to control pH and temperature in order to prevent premature precipitation of iron in the reactor. Two variations of the continuous hydrothermal technique were examined—cold mixing and hot mixing. The cold mixing experiments produced a product with less impurity than the hot mixing experiments. Furthermore, the cold mixing configuration was successful in producing uniform nanoparticles of CoFe2O4. A mechanism of particle formation was postulated involving the precipitation of metal hydroxides at ambient conditions, dissolution of the hydroxides as temperature is increased followed by rapid precipitation of metal oxides at elevated temperatures. The hot mixing experiments, on the other hand, simply involve the precipitation of metal oxides due to the addition of the hot hydroxide solution. In both cases, very fine particles of CoFe2O4 are produced in the range of the processing conditions investigated.  相似文献

Abstract The techniques of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and the indications for its use in the treatment of intraocular tumors have evolved during the years in which it has been assessed in patients at our institution. It is now clear that transcorneal PDT delivered at a subthermal dose-rate to the surface of a pigmented lesion such as choroidal melanoma has little effect. In the absence of pigment, however, as in the case of retinoblastoma or amelanotic melanoma of the iris or choroid, the tumor kill attributed to PDT alone is significant. Data from animal tumor models in our institution and from patient studies elsewhere suggest that the addition of heat with the light delivery will predictably improve the outcome of the treatment of pigmented lesions. Ocular PDT delivered in conjunction with heat will be useful clinically as an adjunct to scleral plaque therapy by reducing the height of a lesion and concurrently the dose of radiation necessary at the base of the tumor for sterilization. Since the clinical tumoricidal effect of PDT is now known to be due at least in part to vascular damage, trans-scleral application of light to the base of melanomas and occlusion of its blood supply holds significant promise of efficacy with continued improvement of the light delivery system. Finally, a transpupillary approach to occlusion of the choroidal vascular supply to a melanoma by surrounding the tumor with photodynamic lesions may provide the best approach for ocular PDT as a primary therapy.  相似文献

In this paper we study mathematically an industrial problemrelated to sterilization processes involving heat transfer bynatural convection. We give results of existence and regularityfor the solution of this problem. We recast the whole problemas an optimal control problem with pointwise constraints onthe state and the control in order to ensure the reduction ofmicroorganism concentration and the retention of nutrients,and to save energy. Heteroarm H‐shaped terpolymers, (polystyrene)(poly(methyl methacrylate))‐ poly(tert‐butyl acrylate)‐(polystyrene)(poly(methyl methacrylate)), (PS)(PMMA)‐PtBA‐(PMMA)(PS), and, (PS)(PMMA)‐poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)‐(PMMA)(PS), through click reaction strategy between PS‐PMMA copolymer (as side chains) with an alkyne functional group at the junction point and diazide end‐functionalized PtBA or PEG (as a main chain). PS‐PMMA with alkyne functional group was prepared by sequential living radical polymerizations such as the nitroxide mediated (NMP) and the metal mediated‐living radical polymerization (ATRP) routes. The uranium (III) ions behaviour in fused 3LiCl–2KCl eutectic versus the Cl?/Cl2 reference electrode in the temperature range of 723–823 K on the liquid cadmium electrode by transient electrochemical techniques on the tungsten or molybdenum electrodes was studied. The mechanism of electrochemical reduction on cadmium cathode and the influence of temperature, cathode current density and the duration of electrolysis were studied. The activity coefficients and the base thermodynamic properties of uranium in fused U–Cd/3LiCl–2KCl system were calculated.  相似文献
