Design of liquid-crystalline aqueous suspensions of rutile nanorods: evidence of anisotropic photocatalytic properties 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1

TiO2 rutile nanorods of average length L = 160 +/- 40 nm and average diameter D = 15 +/- 5 nm have been synthesized through a seed-mediated growth process by TiCl4 hydrolysis in concentrated acidic solution. These nanorods were dispersed in water to yield stable (aggregation-free) colloidal aqueous suspensions. At volume fractions phi > 3%, the suspensions spontaneously display a phase separation into an isotropic liquid phase and a liquid-crystalline phase identified as nematic by X-ray scattering. At phi > 12%, the suspensions form a nematic single phase, with large order parameter, S = 0.75 +/- 0.05. Very well aligned rutile films on glass substrate were produced by spin-coating, and their photocatalytic properties were examined by monitoring the decomposition of methylene blue under UV light. We found that UV-light polarized along the quadratic axis of the rutile nanorods was most efficient for this photocatalytic reaction. 相似文献

To understand some experimental data at odds with the computed mechanism of the CpCo(L2)-catalyzed [2 + 2 + 2] cyclotrimerization of ethyne, DFT computations were carried out following the fate of methyl- and hydroxycarbonyl-substituted alkynes to give the corresponding arenes. The key intermediate in all cases is a triplet cobaltacyclopentadiene obtained by oxidative coupling of the corresponding CpCo(bisalkyne) complex and subsequent spin change via a minimum energy crossing point (MECP). From that species, two different catalytic cycles lead to an arene product, depending on the nature of the alkyne and other ligands present: either alkyne ligation to furnish a cobaltacyclopentadiene(alkyne) intermediate or trapping by a sigma-donor ligand to generate a coordinatively saturated cobaltacyclopentadiene(PR3) complex. The former leads to the CpCo-complexed arene product via intramolecular cobalt-assisted [4 + 2] cycloaddition, whereas the latter may, in the case of a reactive dienophile (butynedioic acid), undergo direct intermolecular [4 + 2] cycloaddition to generate a cobaltanorbornene. The bridgehead cobalt atom is then reductively eliminated after another change in spin state from singlet to triplet. With the purpose of assessing the reactivity of chloride ions dissolved in ionic liquids (ILs), a relative scale for the solvation of chloride is given for a series of ILs based on the bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide ([Tf(2)N]) anion and different cations, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium ([bmim]), 1-butyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium ([bdmim]), 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium ([bmpy]), 1-butylpyridinium ([bpy]), 1-pentyl-1,1,1-triethylammonium ([C(5)e(3)am]), and 1-(2-hydroxy)ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ([mimeOH]). Insights into the solvation of chloride are achieved by the thermodynamic study of the reaction of dissociation of a chloride-templated nickel(II) metallacage performed at various temperatures by UV-visible spectroscopy in each IL. The reaction between either MgI2 or CaI2 and 2 equiv of [(Me3Si)2{Me2(H3B)P}C]K (2) in toluene gives the corresponding organo-alkaline earth metal compounds [(Me3Si)2{Me2(H3B)P}C]2M in moderate to good yields [M = Mg (3), Ca (4)]. Compound 3 crystallizes solvent-free, whereas X-ray quality crystals of 4 could not be obtained in the absence of coordinating solvents; crystallization of 4 from cold methylcyclohexane/THF gives the solvate [(Me3Si)2{Me2(H3B)P}C]2Ca(THF)4 (4a). The corresponding heavier alkaline earth metal complexes [(Me3Si)2{Me2(H3B)P}C]2M(THF)5 [M = Sr (7), Ba (8)] are obtained from the reaction between MI2 and 2 equiv of 2 in THF, followed by recrystallization from cold methylcyclohexane/THF. Compound 3 degrades over a period of several weeks at room-temperature both in the solid state and in toluene solution to give the free phosphine-borane (Me3Si)2{Me2(H3B)P}CH (5) as the sole phosphorus-containing product. In addition, compounds 3, 4, and 4a react rapidly with THF in toluene solution, yielding 5 as the sole phosphorus-containing product; in contrast, compounds 7 and 8 are stable toward this solvent. 相似文献

The lipids that are essential to the functioning of the bacterial membrane exist in hundreds of different forms. The reasons for this diversity are far from clear but are presumably related to the roles of these lipids in both facilitating enzymic activities and generating proteolipid domains. A full understanding of bacterial physiology therefore requires characterization of lipids in different strains in a variety of environmental conditions. This characterization then becomes the basis for lipidomics, the lipid aspect of the growing field of metabolomics. To exploit the power of derivatization chemistry and of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) for metabolomics studies, we report here the development of various GC/MS electron ionization (EI) and negative and positive chemical ionization (CI) methods for the identification and, for the first time, the relative quantification of fatty acids present in extracts from membranes of a laboratory strain of Escherichia coli. They consist of seven saturated fatty acids (C10:0, C12:0, C14:0, C15:0, C16:0, C17:0 and C18:0) and six unsaturated fatty acids (C16:1, cyC17:0 plus two isomers of C18:1, C18:2 and cyC19:0). 相似文献

A liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI-MS/MS) method using reversed-phase chromatography was developed for the analysis of phospholipids from bacterial extracts of a wild-type strain of Escherichia coli. Product ion mass spectra from [M--H](-) precursor ions allowed an identification of individual phospholipid species that includes both fatty acid composition and fatty acyl location on the glycerol backbone using diagnostic product ions. Thus, complete assignment, including sn-1/sn-2 fatty acyl position, was achieved for this strain of E. coli. This paper reports a convenient sequential one-pot approach for the synthesis of an array of 14 pyrazolo[1,5-a][1,3,5]triazines, substituted in C8 by halogen (Br), various functions (CN and CO2Et) and alkyl or (het)aryl groups. This study confirms the interest of combining the efficient heating obtained under dielectric microwave heating and the achievement of sequential one-pot reactions, avoiding the tedious work-up and purification of intermediate compounds, achieving sustainable synthesis processes.
