Photoswitch triads comprising two dihydroazulene (DHA) units in conjugation with a central trans-azobenzene (AZB) unit were prepared in stepwise protocols starting from meta- and para-disubstituted azobenzenes. The para-connected triad had significantly altered optical properties and lacked the photoactivity of the separate photochromes. In contrast, for the meta-connected triad, all three photochromes could be photoisomerized to generate an isomer with two vinylheptafulvene (VHF) units and a cis-azobenzene unit. Ultrafast spectroscopy of the photoisomerizations revealed a fast DHA-to-VHF photoisomerization and a slower trans-to-cis AZB photoisomerization. This meta triad underwent thermal VHF-to-DHA back-conversion with a similar rate of all VHFs, independent of the identity of the neighboring units, and in parallel thermal cis-to-trans AZB conversion. The experimental observations were supported by computation (excitation spectra and orbital analysis of the transitions).  相似文献

The paper deals with the existence of positive solutions of the problem -Δ u=up in Ω, u=0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a bounded domain of , n≥ 3, and p>2. We describe new concentration phenomena, which arise as p→ +∞ and can be exploited in order to construct, for p large enough, positive solutions that concentrate, as p→ +∞, near submanifolds of codimension 2. In this paper we consider, in particular, domains with axial symmetry and obtain positive solutions concentrating near (n-2)-dimensional spheres, which approach the boundary of Ω as p→ +∞. The existence and multiplicity results we state allow us to find positive solutions, for large p, also in domains which can be contractible and even arbitrarily close to starshaped domains (while no solution can exist if Ω is starshaped and , as a consequence of the Pohožaev's identity). We deal with the analysis of the general equilibrium model with incomplete financial markets and nominal assets. We assume that there are 2 periods of time, say today and tomorrow. We define a consumption, portfolio holding, commodity and asset price vector as an equilibrium vector associated with a given economy if at those prices and economies households maximize utility under a budget constraints and markets clear. While the path breaking proofs of existence by Cass [6] and Werner [25] use a fixed point argument, we provide an independent existence proof in terms of variational inequalities (about the variational approach for the analysis of general equilibrium models see for example [9] and [10]). The analysis presented in this paper indicates that the variational inequality approach promises to be applicable in many specifications of the incomplete market model.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a Walrasian pure exchange economy with utility function which is a particular case of a general economic equilibrium problem, without production. We assume that each agent is endowed with at least of a commodity, his preferences are expressed by an utility function and it prevails a competitive behaviour: each agent regards the prices payed and received as independent of his own choices. The Walrasian equilibrium can be characterized as a solution to a quasi-variational inequality. By using this variational approach, our goal is to prove an existence result of equilibrium solutions.  相似文献

The interaction between pentaethylene glycol n-octyl ether (C8E5) and low-molecular-weight poly(acrylic acid) (PAA, M(w)=2000) in aqueous solution has been investigated by various experimental techniques at constant polymer concentration (0.1% w/w) with varying surfactant molality. Spectrofluorimetry, using pyrene as molecular probe, shows (i) the formation of surfactant-polymer aggregates at a surfactant molality (T(1)) lower than the critical micelle concentration (cmc) of C8E5 in water and (ii) the formation of free micelles at a surfactant molality (T(2)) slightly higher than the cmc. Fluorescence quenching measurements indicate that the presence of PAA induces a lowering of the C8E5 aggregation number. Calorimetry confirms spectrofluorimetric evidence; in addition, it shows the presence of weak interactions below T(1) between monomeric surfactant molecules and the polymer chains. Tensiometry shows that, above T(1), only a low fraction of surfactant molecules interact with the polymer and that free micelle formation occurs before polymer saturation. The peculiarities of the interaction between surfactants and low-molecular-weight polymers have been discussed.  相似文献

The liquid-phase synthesis and the conformational analysis of a small library of fully protected tetramers containing L-pyroglutamic acid (L-pGlu), (4S,5R)-4-methyl-5-carboxybenzyloxazolidin-2-one (L-Oxd), or (4R,5S)-4-methyl-5-carboxybenzyloxazolidin-2-one (D-Oxd) as residue i + 1 are reported to test the tendency of these oligomers to assume a -hairpin conformation. The most promising molecule is Boc-L-Val-D-Oxd-Gly-L-Ala-OBn, which assumes a preferential -turn conformation in CDCl3, as shown by IR and 1H NMR analysis. These findings have been confirmed by DFT calculations, which provide an interpretation for the available experimental data and agree with the reported observations.  相似文献

Among matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), MMP-9/2 are key enzymes involved in the proteolysis of extracellular matrices in the inflammatory process and in cancer. Since MMP-9/2 expression levels, activity, and secretion is up-regulated during inflammation in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-6 (IL-6), many efforts have been devoted to identifying factors that could inhibit the IL-6-induced MMP-9/2 expression. Up to now, several reports indicated that polyphenols from fruits and vegetables are among the major components of health promotion for their antioxidant properties and also for their anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agents. Among plant derived polyphenols, lemon (Citrus limon) peel extract (LPE) shows anti-cancer properties in various cancer types. In our previous work, we demonstrated that LPE can reduce IL-6-induced migration/invasiveness and MMP-9/2 up-regulation in some gastric cancer cell lines. This study aims to exploit the anti-cancer properties of LPE using an in vitro system model of inflammation, consisting of IL-6-exposed human primary colon cancer cells. We first analyzed the effect of LPE on IL-6-induced cell migration and invasiveness by wound healing and Boyden chamber assay, respectively. The MMP-2 mRNA expression levels and gelatinolytic activity in the cell culture media were determined by q-PCR analysis and gelatin zymography, respectively, and finally, the effects of LPE on IL-6-induced JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathways have been investigated by Western blotting analysis. Our results show that LPE is able to inhibit the IL-6-dependent cell migration and invasiveness associated with the up-regulation of MMP-2 expression levels and that these effects are correlated to the STAT3 phosphorylation in human primary T88 and T93 colon cancer cells.  相似文献

Thin alloy film of Pd and Au, formed by simultaneous electron-beam and thermal evaporation techniques, respectively, is used in the design of an optical fiber hydrogen sensor. The sensor consists of a multimode fiber (MMF) in which a short section of single mode fiber (SMF), coated with the Pd-Au thin film, is inserted. Due to core diameter mismatch, the SMF cladding guides light, allowing the interaction between the sensing layer and the guided light. When the sensor is exposed to hydrogen, the Pd-Au layer refractive index diminishes and causes attenuation changes on the transmitted light. Several samples with different layer thickness uniformity were fabricated and tested in a very simple experimental set-up. We have observed that the sensor signal change is dependant on layer thickness uniformity, since the effective interaction length between the evanescent field and the sensing layer is increased. By contrast, such uniformity practically has no influence on the time response of the sensor. The resulting Pd-Au film can detect 4% hydrogen with a response time of 15 s.  相似文献

An appropriate mesh selection strategy is one of the fundamental tools in designing robust codes for differential problems, especially if the codes are required to work for difficult multi scale problems. Most of the existing codes base the mesh selection on an estimate of the error (or the residual). Our strategy, based on the estimation of two parameters characterising the conditioning of the continuous problem, as well as on an estimate of the error, not only permits us to obtain a well adapted mesh, thus reducing the cost of the code, but also provides a measure of the conditioning of both continuous and discrete problems.  相似文献
