The conductivity and luminescence of conjugated polymers may be combined with the photoisomerization capability of azobenzene materials to achieve unique properties for a variety of applications, particularly if conjugated polymers with azobenzene side chains are processed as nanostructured films. In this study, we report on Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films of a polythiophene-bearing azobenzene moieties, which displayed photoluminescence, thermochromism, electroactivity, and photoinduced birefringence. The latter three properties were enhanced in the LB films, as compared to spin-coated films of the polyazothiophene, and this has been attributed to differences in film morphology that could be probed with atomic force microscopy.  相似文献

A surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) study of imidazolium ionic liquid stabilized gold(0) nanoparticles (GNPs) furnished previously unknown knowledge about the coordination and stabilization mode of the imidazolium cation. GNPs were prepared by hydrazine reduction of a chloroauric acid solution in 1-triethylene glycol monomethyl ether-3-methylimidazolium methanesulfonate 2 as ether-functionalized room-temperature ionic liquid (RTIL). UV-vis spectroscopy showed the presence of GNP aggregates as absorptions extended to the NIR region. A parallel coordination mode for the imidazolium cation of RTIL 2 on the GNP surface was observed by SERS, which occurred without the simultaneous coordination of the 1-triethylene glycol monomethyl ether-functionality. Instead of this, the ether-functionality was directed away from the GNP surface and acted as steric barrier between the GNPs/GNP aggregates, thus preventing further aggregation. These new insights suggest that the imidazolium cation is responsible for electrosteric stabilization.  相似文献

The biosynthesis of glycopeptide antibiotics (GPAs) has been an active area of research for decades. But, insights into the activity of the cytochrome P450 enzymes required for installing the aromatic crosslinks, which form their cup-shaped topologies and render GPAs bioactive, have only recently emerged. Presently, little is known about the substrate scope and promiscuity of the P450 enzymes. Herein, we report that OxyBvan, the P450 enzyme that installs the first crosslink in vancomycin biosynthesis, is capable of catalyzing the formation of its conventional C-O-D bis-aryl ether bond in non-natural substrates and, furthermore, the formation of a second, novel linkage when D-Trp is incorporated at position 6. HR-MS/MS and isotope labeling studies indicate the second crosslink is formed between rings A and B, resulting in a novel GPA-type scaffold. OxyB is also capable of installing two crosslinks in kistamicin- and complestatin-like substrate peptides. These findings highlight the utility of OxyBvan in creating crosslinked GPA derivatives and provide clues regarding the unusual biosynthesis of kistamicin.  相似文献

This study reports a comparison between conventional methods, ionic liquids, microwave (MW) irradiation, and combinations thereof for the synthesis of a series of fourteen 1-aryl-2-arylamino-5-trifluoroacetyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyridines. In all of the reactions tested, the products were obtained at very good yields (87–97%), but the reaction times were very different, depending on the method used. Comparing to other methods, the time decreased to 1?min when [BMIM]BF4 under MW irradiation was used, thus evidencing a synergic effect.  相似文献

An efficient microwave-assisted synthesis of 3-(arylsulfanyl)-4-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-ones by condensation of arenesulfonohydrazides with 4-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one in the presence of iodine is described. The synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral data (IR, 1H and 13C NMR, and mass spectra and elemental analyses) and were tested for their in vitro antimicrobial activity against bacterial and fungal organisms.  相似文献

In order to better understand the performance of 1,2-dimethyl-5-acetyl barbituric acid (DMB) as an amino protecting group relative to 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione (DMD), ab initio calculations were performed. pKa calculations using the PCM model indicated that both molecules are more acidic in the enol form. Therefore, the protecting reaction of these molecules should involve the anions formed from the loss of a proton from the enol compounds. Contrary to what would be expected, the larger efficiency exhibited by the DMB molecule cannot be attributed to an extension of the electronic conjugation effect. In the absence of any other noticeable effect that could be responsible for the greater efficiency of the DMB molecule, we are inclined to believe that the difference could be accounted for by the presence of two independent centers of conjugation.This paper is dedicated to Jacopo Tomasi in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of computational chemistry in solution. The slow dissociation of DNA threading intercalators makes them interesting as model compounds in the search for new DNA targeting drugs, as there appears to be a correlation between slow dissociation and biological activity. Thus, it would be of great value to understand the mechanisms controlling threading intercalation, and for this purpose we have investigated how the length of the bridging ligand of binuclear ruthenium threading intercalators affects their DNA binding properties. We have synthesised a new binuclear ruthenium threading intercalator with slower dissociation kinetics from ct‐DNA than has ever been observed for any ruthenium complex with any type of DNA, a property that we attribute to the increased distance between the ruthenium centres of the new complex. By comparison with previously studied ruthenium complexes, we further conclude that elongation of the bridging ligand reduces the sensitivity of the threading interaction to DNA flexibility, resulting in a decreased AT selectivity for the new complex. We also find that the length of the bridging ligand affects the enantioselectivity with increasing preference for the ΔΔ enantiomer as the bridging ligand becomes longer.  相似文献

A new program, PHI, with the ability to calculate the magnetic properties of large spin systems and complex orbitally degenerate systems, such as clusters of d‐block and f‐block ions, is presented. The program can intuitively fit experimental data from multiple sources, such as magnetic and spectroscopic data, simultaneously. PHI is extensively parallelized and can operate under the symmetric multiprocessing, single process multiple data, or GPU paradigms using a threaded, MPI or GPU model, respectively. For a given problem PHI is been shown to be almost 12 times faster than the well‐known program MAGPACK, limited only by available hardware. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

High‐molecular‐weight (MW) symmetrical multiblock copolymers, based on the hydrophobic monomers styrene (Sty) and methyl methacrylate (MMA), and the more polar monomer, 2‐vinyl pyridine (2VPy), were prepared using stepwise reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. All copolymers shared a common poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) midblock, introduced as a bifunctional macromolecular chain transfer agent. In total, five ABA triblock copolymers, five ABCBA pentablock terpolymers, and two ABCDCBA heptablock quaterpolymers (comprising four different monomer types) were synthesized. The MWs of the multiblock polymers were determined using gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy, with the latter values being closer to the theoretically expected, whereas GPC MW distributions were relatively narrow, broadening with the number of blocks. The compositions of the synthesized polymers, as determined by 1H NMR spectroscopy, were also close to the expected values. Finally, films cast from chloroform solutions of the pentablock terpolymers P2VPy‐b‐PSty‐b‐PEG‐b‐PSty‐b‐P2VPy, PSty‐b‐PMMA‐b‐PEG‐b‐PMMA‐b‐PSty, and P2VPy‐b‐PMMA‐b‐PEG‐b‐PMMA‐b‐P2VPy examined using transmission electron microscopy exhibited PSty and PMMA cylinders (first two) and lamellae (third terpolymer). © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
