Background
Several studies have shown that Stroop interference is stronger in children than in adults. However, in a standard Stroop paradigm, stimulus interference and response interference are confounded. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether interference at the stimulus level and the response level are subject to distinct maturational patterns across childhood. Three groups of children (6–7 year-olds, 8–9 year-olds, and 10–12 year-olds) and a group of adults performed a manual Color-Object Stroop designed to disentangle stimulus interference and response interference. This was accomplished by comparing three trial types. In congruent (C) trials there was no interference. In stimulus incongruent (SI) trials there was only stimulus interference. In response incongruent (RI) trials there was stimulus interference and response interference. Stimulus interference and response interference were measured by a comparison of SI with C, and RI with SI trials, respectively. Event-related potentials (ERPs) were measured to study the temporal dynamics of these processes of interference.Results
There was no behavioral evidence for stimulus interference in any of the groups, but in 6–7 year-old children ERPs in the SI condition in comparison with the C condition showed an occipital P1-reduction (80–140 ms) and a widely distributed amplitude enhancement of a negative component followed by an amplitude reduction of a positive component (400–560 ms). For response interference, all groups showed a comparable reaction time (RT) delay, but children made more errors than adults. ERPs in the RI condition in comparison with the SI condition showed an amplitude reduction of a positive component over lateral parietal (-occipital) sites in 10–12 year-olds and adults (300–540 ms), and a widely distributed amplitude enhancement of a positive component in all age groups (680–960 ms). The size of the enhancement correlated positively with the RT response interference effect.Conclusion
Although processes of stimulus interference control as measured with the color-object Stroop task seem to reach mature levels relatively early in childhood (6–7 years), development of response interference control appears to continue into late adolescence as 10–12 year-olds were still more susceptible to errors of response interference than adults. 相似文献22.

The type of the stationary phase for reversed-phase liquid chromatography significantly affects the sample elution. Hydrodynamic properties, efficiency and gradient elution of proteins were investigated on five commercial C18 columns with wide-pore totally porous particles, with superficially porous layer particles, non-porous particles and a silica-based monolithic bed. The efficiency in the terms of reduced plate height is higher for low-molecular ethylbenzene than for proteins, but depends on the character of the pores in the individual columns tested. The superficially porous Poroshell and the non-porous Micra columns provide the best efficiency for proteins at high mobile phase flow rates, probably because of similar pore architecture in the stationary phase. The Zorbax column with similar pore architecture as the Poroshell active layer, i.e. narrow pore distribution of wider pores shows better efficiency than the packed column with narrow pores and broad pore distribution. The monolithic column shows lower efficiency for proteins at high flow rates, but it performs better than the broad-pore distribution totally porous particulate columns. Different pore architecture affects also the retention and selectivity for proteins on the individual columns. The retention times on all columns can be predicted using the model for reversed-phase gradient elution developed originally for low-molecular compounds. Consideration of the limited pore volume accessible to the biopolymers has negligible effect on the prediction of retention on the columns packed with non-porous or superficially porous particles, but improves the accuracy of the predicted data for the totally porous columns with broad pore distribution. 相似文献

Supramolecular protein complexes are the corner stone of biological processes; they are essential for many biological functions. Unraveling the interactions responsible for the (dis)assembly of these complexes is required to understand nature and to exploit such systems in future applications. Virus capsids are well-defined assemblies of hundreds of proteins and form the outer shell of non-enveloped viruses. Due to their potential as a drug carriers or nano-reactors and the need for virus inactivation strategies, assessing the intactness of virus capsids is of great interest. Current methods to evaluate the (dis)assembly of these protein assemblies are experimentally demanding in terms of instrumentation, expertise and time. Here we investigate a new strategy to monitor the disassembly of fluorescently labeled virus capsids. To monitor surfactant-induced capsid disassembly, we exploit the complex photophysical interplay between multiple fluorophores conjugated to capsid proteins. The disassembly of the capsid changes the photophysical interactions between the fluorophores, and this can be spectrally monitored. The presented data show that this low complexity method can be used to study and monitor the disassembly of supramolecular protein complexes like virus capsids. Summary The normal-phase chromatographic retention behaviour of polyesters on bare silica and on a polymer-based polyamine (PA) column
has been studied with a variely of binary mobile phases under isocratic conditions. The dependence of experimental retention
data on the degree of polymerization (p) and on mobile phase composition (φ) was characterized by to an approach developed by Jandera et al. The bulky repeating
unit and the relatively highly polar end groups of the polyesters both had a large influence on retention behaviour. The two
effects in combination explain the molar-mass-independent retention observed experimentally at a particular mobile phase composition
for all the mobile phase—stationary phase combinations investigated. These conditions were found to be independent of the
type of end group. End group separation on a silica column improves when the polarity of the less polar solvent is increased.
End group separation is better on the PA column because of a greater difference between the adsorption energy of the alcohol
and acid end groups. Better prediction of retention data on the PA column was achieved by use of an approach which assumes
two different types of adsorption site. Results enabled further understanding of retention behaviour in normalphase gradient

We present an analytical framework for active foreign exchange reserves management that integrates risk-return objectives
with macroeconomic, macro-prudential and sovereign debt management concerns. Our framework allows for very general objective
functions, does not restrict the class of eligible stochastic processes or limit the investment universe, and can incorporate
many types of macroeconomic concerns. It incorporates several kinds of risk constraints in order to obtain benchmarks satisfying
possible central bank requirements of safety, liquidity, returns, and stability. Feedback between outcomes and decisions is
easy using tools that reshape distributions and functions of the outcomes. And the model can be run on a PC-based platform.
We apply the framework to several common reserves management problems focusing especially on the formulation of model equations,
generation of trees and estimation of density functions of outcomes. We compare our approach to those used by many central
