The use of microorganism growing cells is a well recognized methodology in biocatalyzed organic reactions. A non-conventional thermotolerant Kluyveromyces marxianus yeast strain was used for the bio-reduction of different arylketones. Differently substituted ketones were converted into the corresponding (S)-alcohols with up to 96% enantiomeric excess under very mild reaction conditions. Kluyveromyces marxianus represents a promising biocatalyst for the production of optically active 1-arylethanols. 相似文献

CuO/ZnO nanocomposites were synthesized on Al2O3 substrates by a hybrid plasma‐assisted approach, combining the initial growth of ZnO columnar arrays by plasma‐enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PE‐CVD) and subsequent radio frequency (RF) sputtering of copper, followed by final annealing in air. Chemical, morphological, and structural analyses revealed the formation of high‐purity nanosystems, characterized by a controllable dispersion of CuO particles into ZnO matrices. The high surface‐to‐volume ratio of the obtained materials, along with intimate CuO/ZnO intermixing, resulted in the efficient detection of various oxidizing and reducing gases (such as O3, CH3CH2OH, and H2). The obtained data are critically discussed and interrelated with the chemical and physical properties of the nanocomposites. 相似文献

The performance of economic producers is often affected by external or environmental factors that, unlike the inputs and the outputs, are not under the control of the Decision Making Units (DMUs). These factors can be included in the model as exogenous variables and can help to explain the efficiency differentials, as well as improve the managerial policy of the evaluated units. A fully nonparametric methodology, which includes external variables in the frontier model and defines conditional DEA and FDH efficiency scores, is now available for investigating the impact of external-environmental factors on the performance. In this paper, we offer a state-of-the-art review of the literature, which has been proposed to include environmental variables in nonparametric and robust (to outliers) frontier models and to analyse and interpret the conditional efficiency scores, capturing their impact on the attainable set and/or on the distribution of the inefficiency scores. This paper develops and complements the approach of B?din et al. (2012) by suggesting a procedure that allows us to make local inference and provide confidence intervals for the impact of the external factors on the process. We advocate for the nonparametric conditional methodology, which avoids the restrictive “separability” assumption required by the two-stage approaches in order to provide meaningful results. An illustration with real data on mutual funds shows the usefulness of the proposed approach. 相似文献

A very simple, cost-effective, chloride- and alkali-free, carbonate co-precipitation synthesis in aqueous medium was applied in the preparation of perovskite-type lanthanum manganese oxide-based powders, i.e. La0.70Sr0.30MnO3?δ (LSM) and La0.75Sr0.25Cr0.5Mn0.5O3?δ (LSCrM). The precursors so obtained yielded nano-structured perovskite oxides when treated at 900°C and 800°C, respectively. The measured BET surface areas were in the low-end range for high temperature oxides (4 m2 g?1 and 10 m2 g?1) but the X-ray crystallite size was as low as 50 nm for LSCrM and 90 nm for LSM. 相似文献

In the present paper, a proteomic method for species determination in fibres has been developed. Keratin was extracted from yak, wool and cashmere fibres and digested by trypsin, providing peptide mixtures that were analyzed by liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray mass spectrometry (LC/ESI‐MS) in order to identify peptidic species‐specific markers able to differentiate the fibres. Several suitable peptide markers were identified and validated in different fibres of different origin and having undergone different technological treatments, showing 100% specificity and 100% selectivity. Most of the peptide markers were also identified by means of high‐resolution mass spectrometry, confirming the origin from species‐specific keratin sequences. Some peptides were also used for the quantification of the different species in mixed fibres by LC/ESI‐MS. Validation experiments and blind tests confirmed their ability to act as very specific quantitative and qualitative markers. The method here developed is a valid complement to the standard benchmark methods for fibre identification and quantification and will be very useful for assessing the authenticity of textile products. Dendritic cell‐specific intercellular adhesion molecule‐3‐grabbing nonintegrin (DC‐SIGN) and Langerin are C‐type lectins of dendritic cells (DCs) that share a specificity for mannose and are involved in pathogen recognition. HIV is known to use DC‐SIGN on DCs to facilitate transinfection of T‐cells. Langerin, on the contrary, contributes to virus elimination; therefore, the inhibition of this latter receptor is undesired. Glycomimetic molecules targeting DC‐SIGN have been reported as promising agents for the inhibition of viral infections and for the modulation of immune responses mediated by DC‐SIGN. We show here for the first time that glycomimetics based on a mannose anchor can be tuned to selectively inhibit DC‐SIGN over Langerin. Based on structural and binding studies of a mannobioside mimic previously described by us ( 2 ), a focused library of derivatives was designed. The optimized synthesis gave fast and efficient access to a group of bis(amides), decorated with an azide‐terminated tether allowing further conjugation. SPR inhibition tests showed improvements over the parent pseudomannobioside by a factor of 3–4. A dimeric, macrocyclic structure ( 11 ) was also serendipitously obtained, which afforded a 30‐fold gain over the starting compound ( 2 ). The same ligands were tested against Langerin and found to exhibit high selectivity towards DC‐SIGN. Structural studies using saturation transfer difference NMR spectroscopy (STD‐NMR) were performed to analyze the binding mode of one representative library member with DC‐SIGN. Despite the overlap of some signals, it was established that the new ligand interacts with the protein in the same fashion as the parent pseudodisaccharide. The two aromatic amide moieties showed relatively high saturation in the STD spectrum, which suggests that the improved potency of the bis(amides) over the parent dimethyl ester can be attributed to lipophilic interactions between the aromatic groups of the ligand and the binding site of DC‐SIGN. 相似文献

In the search of molecules that could recognize sizeable areas of protein surfaces, a series of ten helical aromatic oligoamide foldamers was synthesized on solid phase. The foldamers comprise three to five monomers carrying various proteinogenic side chains, and exist as racemic mixtures of interconverting right‐handed and left‐handed helices. Functionalization of the foldamers by a nanomolar ligand of human carbonic anhydrase II (HCA) ensured that they would be held in close proximity to the protein surface. Foldamer–protein interactions were screened by circular dichroism (CD). One foldamer displayed intense CD bands indicating that a preferred helix handedness is induced upon interacting with the protein surface. The crystal structure of the complex between this foldamer and HCA could be resolved at 2.1 Å resolution and revealed a number of unanticipated protein–foldamer, foldamer–foldamer, and protein–protein interactions. 相似文献

A wide variety of metabolic products of polyunsaturated fatty acids is of paramount importance for improving our medical knowledge in the field of oxidized lipids. Two novel metabolites of n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, 8‐F3t‐IsoP and 10‐F4t‐NeuroP as well as a deuterated derivative thereof were synthesized based on an acetylenic intermediate. An original approach achieved lateral chain insertion of 8‐F3t‐IsoP by a ring‐closing alkyne metathesis/semi‐reduction strategy together with a temporary tether. 相似文献
