The so-called ‘gate effect’ is frequently used in electrochemical signal transduction for chemosensing developed using recognition units based on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). A vast majority of different reported MIP electroanalytical systems makes the gate effect definition difficult to be established precisely, thus resulting in ambiguity and complexity. In the MIP literature, the gate effect is predominantly considered as an electrode–electrolyte phenomenon, which depends on the MIP film nature. However, most of the reports do not describe or confirm the origin of this effect. The reaction of diacetonogalactose phosphonate 6 with 2,3:4,5-di-O-isopropylidene-d-arabinose (7) afforded C12-higher sugar enone with an E-geometry across the double bond, which was converted into the fully protected C11-aldehyde 16. This compound was very unreactive and resistant toward the Wittig type and Tebbe reagents, but under PTC conditions, underwent a reaction with stabilized sugar phosphonate to afford C18-enone 17. An analytical iterative procedure has been established to determine the amplitude of a laser beam propagating through an active
medium. The treatment is valid for both homogeneous and inhomogeneous broadening, and for arbitrary inhomogeneities of the
parameters characterizing the active medium, namely, the refractive index, the small-signal gain and the saturation intensity.
After a supplementary approximation, a thin-sheet gain approach is derived from the first iteration. The formalism enables
us to provide analytical criteria for evaluating both the accuracy of each iteration and the propagation distances for which
the thin-sheet solution can be used.

All-atom molecular dynamics simulations for proteins placed near a model mica surface indicate existence of two types of evolution. One type leads to the surface-induced unfolding and the other just to a deformation. The two behaviors are characterized by distinct properties of the radius of gyration and of a novel distortion parameter that distinguishes between elongated, globular, and planar shapes. They also differ in the nature of their single site diffusion and two-site distance fluctuations. The four proteins chosen for the studies, the tryptophan cage, protein G, hydrophobin and lyzozyme, are small to allow for a fair determination of the forces generated by the surface as the effects of finite cutoffs in the Coulombic interactions are thus minimized. When the net charge on the surface is set to zero artificially, infliction of deformation is seen to persists but no unfolding takes place. Unfolding may also be prevented by a cluster of disulfide bonds, as we observe in simulations of hydrophobin. 相似文献

If the dark matter consists of primordial black holes (PBHs), we show that gravitational lensing of stars being monitored by NASA's Kepler search for extrasolar planets can cause significant numbers of detectable microlensing events. A search through the roughly 150,000 light curves would result in large numbers of detectable events for PBHs in the mass range 5×10(-10) M(⊙) to 10(-4) M(⊙). Nondetection of these events would close almost 2 orders of magnitude of the mass window for PBH dark matter. The microlensing rate is higher than previously noticed due to a combination of the exceptional photometric precision of the Kepler mission and the increase in cross section due to the large angular sizes of the relatively nearby Kepler field stars. Stretching of a protein by a fluid flow is compared to that in a force-clamp apparatus. The comparison is made within a simple topology-based dynamical model of a protein in which the effects of the flow are implemented using Langevin dynamics. We demonstrate that unfolding induced by a uniform flow shows a richer behavior than that in the force clamp. The dynamics of unfolding is found to depend strongly on the selection of the amino acid, usually one of the termini, which is anchored. These features offer potentially wider diagnostic tools to investigate structure of proteins compared to experiments based on the atomic force microscopy. 相似文献

The in-plane magnetoresistance (MR) in La(2-x)SrxCuO4 films with 0.03< x <0.05 has been studied in the temperature range 1.6 to 100 K, and in magnetic fields up to 14 T, parallel and perpendicular to the CuO2 planes. The behavior of the MR is consistent with a predominant influence of interaction effects at high temperatures, switching gradually to a regime dominated by spin scattering at low T. Weak localization effects are absent. A positive orbital MR appears close to the boundary between the antiferromagnetic and the spin-glass phase, suggesting the onset of Maki-Thompson superconducting fluctuations deep inside the insulating phase. 相似文献
