Vibrational modes and infrared absorption of interstitial oxygen in silicon

A quasi-linear Si₂O molecule model (QLMM) is suggested from an analysis of the configuration and the interactions of an isolated oxygen atom with its neighbor silicon atoms. The vibrational modes are assigned and the infrared absorption spectra are calculated in detail with the model. The theoretical results are in reasonably good agreement with reported experimental values. This agreement shows that for the analysis of the vibrational modes of the interstitial oxygen atom in silicon crystals it is not necessary to consider the coupling of the molecule with the rest of the lattice. The interaction of the oxygen atom with its six second-nearest silicon atoms only causes the level separation of the ₂ mode and the formation of the fine structure.     

Alkylation of benzene with 1-hexene in acidic ionic liquid systems: Et3NHCl-FeCl3and Et3NHCl-AlCl3ionic liquids

Summary The alkylation of benzene with 1-hexene has been investigated in different triethylamine hydrochloride-ferric chloride (Et₃NHCl-FeCl₃) and triethylamine hydrochloride-aluminium chloride (Et₃NHCl-AlCl₃) ionic liquids. Both high catalyst activity and monoalkylation selectivity were observed for these two type of ionic liquids. Systems prepared by modification with HCl in Et₃NHCl-FeCl₃ionic liquids prove to be very suitable solvents and catalysts for the reaction. When employing Et₃NHCl-AlCl₃ionic liquids as catalysts, the reaction takes place in biphasic mode with facile catalyst separation and catalyst recycling.     

L—氨基酸氧化酶电极的制作及电极特性的研究

报道了一种新的Ｌ－氨基酸氧化酶电极，这种酶电极系由氨气敏电极和以氨基化玻璃布为载体的酶膜所组成；研究了固定化条件对酶膜活性的影响以及底物浓度、温度和ｐＨ对电极响应特性的影响。该电极在６．０×１０＾－５～４．０×１０＾－３ｍｏｌ／Ｌ的底物浓度范围内呈良好的线性关系，检测下限为５．０×１０＾－５ｍｏｌ／Ｌ。在最宜条件下，酶电极具有良好的稳定性。     

Two-dimensional protein database of human pancreas

We report here the two-dimensional protein database of human pancreas. The proteins were analyzed by two-dimensional electrophoresis followed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight-mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS). Totally, 302 proteins were identified, of which about 27% were enzymes with a broad range of catalytic activities. Several of these are specifically expressed in pancreas, such as pancreatic amylase, pancreatic stone protein, pancreatitis-associated protein, pancreatic lipase, pancreatic elastase, etc. Structural and cytoskeletal proteins are also strongly represented on the gels. Thus, the pancreatic proteome reflects the organ's function. This work paves the way for further studies on pancreatic protein expression in health and disease, such as diabetes and pancreatic cancer.
