Power scaling of printed-circuit-board preionized TEA CO2 laser up to 3.6 kW

A high average power, high-repetition-rate TEA CO₂ laser employing printed-circuit-board preionizer is described. The power scaling of this preionization configuration has been demonstrated. The average output power reaches 3.6 kW at pulse repetition rate of 180 pps. Furthermore, the scaling-up ability of the rotating spark gap as high-voltage switch for high-average-power gas laser has been validated.     

Apparatus for High-Resolution Solid Hydrogen Matrix Isolation Spectroscopy and Its Application

Apparatus integrating a Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer and a mid-infrared difference frequency generation (DFG) laser spectrometer was built for the study of the matrix isolation spectrum in solid molecular hydrogen. A 3-cm-long molecular hydrogen crystal was grown in a liquid-helium Dewar, and its infrared absorption spectrum in the 1-5 μm region was recorded to test the system. The W₀(0) (ν=0←0, J=6←0) line around 2410 cm⁻¹ of solid hydrogen was investigated with the DFG laser spectroscopy. High-resolution matrix isolation spectrum of CO² co-deposited with hydrogen on a BaF₂ cold plate at liquid-helium temperature was studied.

Alternative Approach to the Concept of Shape Invariance in Quantum Mechanics

It is shown that in the case of shapeinvariance, with the use of the mixing functionformalism, exact solvability of the Schrodinger equationcan be obtained without recourse to the technique ofsupersymmetrization. Some consequences of the method are outlinedand illustrated by specific examples.     

Local spatial transformations and local observables

Traditionally spatial transformations such as translations and rotations are formulated in terms of transformations of the entire spatial space. In other words, transformations are taken automatically to be of a global nature. This paper investigates a local approach to spatial transformations; local transformations lead naturally to local observables in quantum mechanics.

Highly substituted poly(2,3‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene) derivatives having bulky phenyl and fluorenyl pendant groups: Synthesis,characterization, and electro‐optical properties

Two series of poly(2,3‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene) (DP‐PPV) derivatives containing multiple bulky substituents were synthesized. In the first series, two different groups were incorporated on C‐5,6 positions of the phenylene moiety to increase steric hindrance and to obtain blue‐shifted emissions. In the second series, bulky fluorenyl groups with two hexyl chains on the C‐9 position were introduced on two phenyl pendants to increase the solubility as well as steric hindrance to prevent close packing of the main chain. Polymers with high molecular weights and fine‐tuned electro‐optical properties were obtained by controlling the feed ratio of different monomers during polymerization. The maximum photoluminescent emissions of the thin films are located between 384 and 541 nm. Cyclic voltammetric analysis reveals that the band gaps of these light‐emitting materials are in the range from 2.4 to 3.3 eV. A double‐layer EL device with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT/P4/Ca/Al emitted pure green light with CIE′1931 at (0.24, 0.5). Using copolymer P6 as the emissive layer, the maximum luminescence and current efficiency were both improved when compared with the homopolymer P4. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Pt对Mo基催化剂还原-硫化过程的影响

采用脉冲硫化、连续硫化、程序升温还原、程序升温及程序降温电导及X射线衍射等方法研究了贵金属Pt对MoO3催化剂还原-流化过程的影响及Pt对MOS2配位不饱和活性中心形成的影响．结果表明，Pt担载或在MoO3上可以促进MoO3的还原-硫化，使MoO3的还原-硫化温度大大降低Pt担载在MoSw上可促进MoS2的部分还原形成配位不饱和的钼中心     

Study of the Complexation Behavior of Calixarene with Transition Metal Cations by UV—vis and Fluorescent Spectra

A new fluorescent compound based on calix[4] arene skeleton was synthesized.Its complexation ability with transition metal ions,such as Fe^3 ,Co^2 ,Ni^2 ,Cu^2 ,Zn^2 and Ag^ ,Was investigated by UV-vis and fluorescent spectra.
