Microbial Transformation of Sesquiterpenes, (−)‐Ambrox® and (+)‐Sclareolide

The microbial transformation of (?)‐Ambrox^® ( 1 ), a perfumery sesquiterpene, by a number of fungi, by means of standard two‐stage‐fermentation technique, afforded ambrox‐1α‐ol ( 2 ), ambrox‐1α,11α‐diol ( 3 ), ambrox‐1α,6α‐diol ( 4 ), ambrox‐1α,6α,11α‐triol ( 5 ), ambrox‐3‐one ( 6 ), ambrox‐3β‐ol ( 7 ), ambrox‐3β,6β‐diol ( 8 ), 13,14,15,16‐tetranorlabdane‐3,8,12‐triol ( 9 ), and sclareolide ( 10 ) (Schemes 1 and 2). Further incubation of compound 10 with Cunninghamella elegans afforded 3‐oxosclareolide ( 11 ), 3β‐hydroxysclareolide ( 12 ), 2α‐hydroxysclareolide ( 13 ), 2α,3β‐dihydroxysclareolide ( 14 ), 1α,3β‐dihydroxysclareolide ( 15 ), and 3β‐hydroxy‐8‐episclareolide ( 16 ) (Scheme 3). Metabolites 2 – 5, 12, 13 , and 16 were found to be new compounds. The major transformations include a reaction path involving hydroxylation, ether‐bond cleavage and inversion of configuration. Metabolites 11 – 16 of sclareolide showed significant phytotoxicity (Table 1). The structures of the metabolites were characterized on the basis of spectroscopic techniques.     

Synthesis of Imidazo[2,1‐a]isoquinolines from α‐Tosyloxyketones and 1‐Aminoisoquinoline in Ionic Liquid Solvent

The room temperature ionic liquid n‐butylpyridinium tetrafluoroborate (BPyBF₄) is used as a ‘green’ recyclable alternative to classical molecular solvents for the cyclocondensation of α‐tosyloxyketones with 1‐aminoisoquinoline to prepare imidazo[2,1‐a]isoquinolines in good yields.     

Thermal degradation behaviors of some branched and linear polysiloxanes

The thermal degradation behaviors of some branched and linear polysiloxanes were studied by thermogravimetric (TG) analysis and infrared (IR) spectroscopy, and the effect of phenyl content on the thermal stability of the tested branched polysiloxanes was investigated. The branched polysiloxanes with phenyl obtain higher thermal stability at lower temperature. The degradation residues of the examined branched polysiloxanes at 800 °C are rather high, 65.1-77.6% in N₂ and 40.5-66.5% in air, respectively. However, the amount of solid residue increases with decrease in phenyl content in both N₂ and air atmospheres. It was found that the thermal stability of the branched polysiloxanes is higher than that of the linear one, which indicated that the branched structure benefits the formation of a crosslink in the solid residue.     

C9‐Iridoids from Scrophularia buergeriana

Four new iridoids, buergerinins B–E ( 1 – 4 ), along with three known iridoids, were isolated from the roots of Scrophularia buergeriana. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.     

Study on synthesis of two-armed polymers containing a crown ether core and their self-assembly behaviors in selective solvents

A series of well-defined two-armed polymers containing a crown ether core, poly(stearyl methacrylate)-crown ether-poly(stearyl methacrylate) (PSMA-crown-PSMA), with different molecular weight were synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The resultant polymers were characterized by ¹H NMR and GPC. The self-assembly behaviors of this kind of polymer in selective solvents were studied by TEM, and it was found that polymers with different molecular weight can directly self-assemble into hollow spheres, solid spheres and a monolayer film with regular pores by varying molecular weight and water content. The possible molecular packing motels for their self-assembly behaviors were proposed.     

A remarkable stereoselectivity switching upon solid-state versus solution-phase enantiodifferentiating photocyclodimerization of 2-anthracenecarboxylic acid mediated by native and 3,6-anhydro-γ-cyclodextrins

The enantiodifferentiating [4+4] photocyclodimerization of anthracenecarboxylic acid (AC) mediated by native, mono- and di-3,6-anhydro-γ-cyclodextrins was investigated in both aqueous solution and solid-state. The solid-state photolyses gave inherently disfavored head-to-head photodimers in much higher chemical and optical yields than in the aqueous solution.     

Synthesis of Spiropyrimidodiazepines and Spirodiazepinopurines by Tandem Nitroso‐ene/Diels–Alder Reactions

New spirocyclic heterocycles 8, 16, 19/20, 25, 27 , and 30 derived from pyrimido[4,5‐b][1,4]diazepin]‐8′(9′H)‐one were synthesised by a tandem nitroso‐ene/Diels–Alder reaction of 4‐(alkenoylamino)‐5‐nitrosopyrimides. The crystal structure of 16 was established by X‐ray analysis. It is characterised by four pairs of intermolecular H‐bonds linking every two molecules in the unit cell. Sequential imine reduction and intramolecular condensation of the C(4′)‐(acylamino)‐pyrimido[4,5‐b][1,4]diazepines 27 and 30 led to the [1,4]diazepino[1,2,3‐gh]purines 28 / 29 and 31 , respectively.     

An Efficient Synthesis of Pyrazolo[3,4‐b]Pyridine Derivatives in Aqueous Media

A series of pyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyridines was synthesized by the reaction of 5‐aminopyrazole with benzylidenemalononitrile in aqueous media. The structures were characterized by IR, ¹H NMR, and elemental analysis and were further confirmed by X‐ray diffraction analysis.     

Recent Advances in Rare‐Earth Polypnictides

The polypnictide complexes of rare earth cations have drawn the attention of the scientific community for their uncommon bonding modes and potential applications. Herein, we present a systematic and comprehensive summary on recent advances in the field of rare earth polypnictides, focusing on their synthesis, structures, and reactivities. The structural stabilizing effects imposed by the electropositive rare earth cations as well as the reducing capability of rare earth precursors in the synthesis of these polypnictide complexes are described in this review. We also disscuss in detail the bonding interactions and coordination modes between rare earth cations and polypnictide clusters as well as the similarities and the peculiarity of some structures.     

含噻二唑环苯甲酰脲化合物的合成及杀虫活性

用活性亚结构连接法设计合成了6个新的含1，3，4-噻二唑杂环苯甲酰脲类化合物，其结构经红外光谱、核磁氢谱、元素分析方法确证。同时对其杀虫活性进行了初步研究，发现该类化合物在普筛浓度下对淡色库蚊幼虫具有较好的杀虫活性。化合物Ⅲb(R1=Cl,R2=n-C5H11),Ⅲd(R1=CH3,R2=n-C5H11),Ⅲf(R1=2,6-difluoro,R2=-C5H11)在10mg/L浓度下对淡色库蚊幼虫的杀虫死亡率大于90％。
