We consider the mean-field dynamics of Bose–Einstein condensates in rotating harmonic traps and establish several stability and instability properties for the corresponding solution. We particularly emphasize the difference between the situation in which the trap is symmetric with respect to the rotation axis and the one where this is not the case.

We continue to investigate the size dependence of disordered mean-field models with finite local spin space in more detail, illustrating the concept of superstates as recently proposed by Bovier and Gayrard. We discuss various notions of convergence for the behavior of the paths (t[tN]()) t(0, 1] in the thermodynamic limit N. Here n () is the Gibbs measure in the finite volume {1,..., n} and is the disorder variable. In particular we prove refined convergence statements in our concrete examples, the Hopfield model with finitely many patterns (having continuous paths) and the Curie–Weiss random-field Ising model (having singular paths).  相似文献

A nonlocal form of the effective gravitational action could cure the unboundedness of euclidean gravity with Einstein action. On sub-horizon length scales the modified gravitational field equations seem compatible with all present tests of general relativity and post-Newtonian gravity. They induce a difference in the effective Newtonian constant between regions of space with vanishing or nonvanishing curvature scalar (or Ricci tensor). In cosmology they may lead to a value < 1 for the critical density after inflation. The simplest model considered here appears to be in conflict with nucleosynthesis, but generalizations consistent with all cosmological observations seem conceivable.  相似文献

A generalization of the spin-component scaling and scaled opposite-spin modifications of second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory to the approximate coupled-cluster singles-and-doubles model CC2 (termed SCS-CC2 and SOS-CC2) is discussed and a preliminary implementation of ground and excited state energies and analytic gradients is reported. The computational results for bond distances, harmonic frequencies, adiabatic and 0-0 excitation energies are compared with experimental results to benchmark their performance. It is found that both variants of the spin-scaling increase the robustness of CC2 against strong correlation effects and lead for this method even to somewhat larger improvements than those observed for second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory. The spin-component scaling also enhances systematically the accuracy of CC2 for 0-0 excitation energies for pi --> pi* and n --> pi* transitions, if geometries are determined at the same level.  相似文献

The isostructural compounds Yb2MgSi2, La2.05Mg0.95Si2, and Ce2.05Mg0.95Si2, as well as Yb2Li0.5Ge2 and Yb1.75Mg0.75Si2, respectively, were synthesized from stoichiometric mixtures of the corresponding elements in sealed Nb‐ ampoules under argon atmosphere. The structures were determined by single crystal X‐ray diffraction: Yb2MgSi2 (P4/mbm (No. 127), a = 7.056(1), c = 4.130(1) Å3, Z = 2), La2.05Mg0.95Si2 (P4/mbm, a = 7.544(1), c = 4.464(1) Å3, Z = 2), and Ce2.05Mg0.95Si2 (P4/mbm, a = 7.425(1), c = 4.370(1) Å3, Z = 2), Yb2Li0.5Ge2 (Pnma (No. 62), a = 7.0601(6), b = 14.628(1), c = 7.6160(7) Å, V = 786.5Å3, Z = 4), Yb1.75Mg0.75Si2 (Pnma, a = 6.9796(1), b = 14.4009(1), c = 7.5357(1) Å, V = 757.43(2) Å3, Z = 4). All compounds contain exclusively Tt‐Tt dumb‐bells (Tt = Si, Ge). The Si‐Si Zintl anions exhibit only very small variations of bond lengths which seem to be more due to cation matrix effects than to effective bond orders.  相似文献

Two-dimensional van der Waals heterostructures (2D vdWHs) have recently gained widespread attention because of their abundant and exotic properties, which open up many new possibilities for next-generation nanoelectronics. However, practical applications remain challenging due to the lack of high-throughput techniques for fabricating high-quality vdWHs. Here, we demonstrate a general electrochemical strategy to prepare solution-processable high-quality vdWHs, in which electrostatic forces drive the stacking of electrochemically exfoliated individual assemblies with intact structures and clean interfaces into vdWHs with strong interlayer interactions. Thanks to the excellent combination of strong light absorption, interfacial charge transfer, and decent charge transport properties in individual layers, thin-film photodetectors based on graphene/In2Se3 vdWHs exhibit great promise for near-infrared (NIR) photodetection, owing to a high responsivity (267 mA W−1), fast rise (72 ms) and decay (426 ms) times under NIR illumination. This approach enables various hybrid systems, including graphene/In2Se3, graphene/MoS2 and graphene/MoSe2 vdWHs, providing a broad avenue for exploring emerging electronic, photonic, and exotic quantum phenomena.  相似文献
