The axial and transverse Young's modulus and thermal conductivity of gel and single crystal mat polyethylene with draw ratios λ = 1–350 have been measured from 160 to 360 K. The axial Young's modulus increases sharply with increasing λ, whereas the transverse modulus shows a slight decrease. The thermal conductivity exhibits a similar behavior. At λ = 350, the axial Young's modulus and thermal conductivity are, respectively, 20% and three times higher than those of steel. For this ultradrawn material both the magnitude and the temperature dependence of the axial Young's modulus are close to those of polyethylene crystal. The high values of the axial Young's modulus and thermal conductivity arise from the presence of a large percentage (∼85%) of long needle crystals. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The present study describes the green method for the preparation of chitosan loaded with silver nanoparticles (CS‐AgNPs) in the presence of 3 different extracted essential oils. The essential oils play dual roles as reductant and capping agents. The reducing power and DPPH (2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl) assay for the 3 essential oils—Thymus syriacus (T), wild mint (M), and rosemary (R)—have been reported. The preparation of CS‐AgNPs was performed by 2 steps. The 3 previously extracted essential oils have been used as reducing and capping agent in the first step, while in the second step, silver nanoparticles were integrated in chitosan. The integration of AgNPs in the structure of chitosan was confirmed by ultraviolet‐visible, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy techniques, and energy dispersive X‐ray. Surface plasmon resonance confirmed the formation of CS‐AgNPs with maximum absorbance at λmax between 405 ‐ 410 and 410 ‐ 430 nm for colloidal and films of CS‐AgNPs, respectively. The intensity of bands at 3408 cm?1 in the fourier transform infrared spectroscopy measurements was decreased substantially and shifted slightly to lower frequency (?υ = 43 cm?1). Scanning electron microscopy shows a spherical morphology of AgNPs with size of 62 nm for both colloidal and film samples, and energy dispersive X‐ray analysis shows peaks confirming AgNPs formation. 相似文献

A fast capillary electrophoretic method is described for the separation and determination of the enantiomers of the novel wake-promoting agent, modafinil. Several parameters affecting the separation were studied, including the type and concentration of chiral selector, buffer pH, buffer concentration, voltage and temperature. Good chiral separation of the racemic mixture was achieved in less than 5 min with resolution factor Rs?=?2.51, using a bare fused-silica capillary and a background electrolyte (BGE) of 25 mM H3PO4?1 M tris solution; pH 8.0; containing 30 mg mL?1 of sulfated-β-cyclodextrin (S-β-CD). The separation was carried out in normal polarity mode at 25 ?C, 18 kV and using hydrostatic injection. Acceptable validation criteria for selectivity, linearity, precision, and accuracy were included. The developed method was successfully applied to the assay of enantiomers of modafinil in pharmaceutical formulations. The computational calculations for the enantiomeric inclusion complexes rationalized the reasons for the different migration times between the modafinil enantiomers. 相似文献

In this paper, the feasibility of Ti film coated on glass substrate scribed via a 532 nm picosecond laser is investigated.
Laser irradiations from the film side and from the transparent substrate side are performed for comparison. Optical microscopy,
SEM, surface stylus and contact resistance measurement reveal that the Ti film can be completely removed with no damage to
the glass substrate, using optimized process parameters. The complete removal threshold for the film for front-side scribing
is found at 120 mJ/cm2, while the minimum laser fluence for complete scribing is 70 mJ/cm2 in the case of back-side scribing. The lines scribed from the front side exhibit obvious thermal effects such as heat affected
zones, burr and micro cracks. Back-side scribing exhibits non-thermal behavior, which also can increase the process speed
for the scribing of a Ti film on glass to 1000 mm/s. This makes the back-side laser scribing of Ti film a promising technique. 相似文献

The observed tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) effect in La0.9Ba0.1MnO3 (LBMO)/Nb-doped SrTiO3 (Nb-STO) p+-n junctions is investigated and a possible mechanism responsible for the TMR generation is proposed by taking into account the dynamic spin accumulation and paramagnetic magnetization in the Nb-STO layer. Because of carrier diffusion across the dynamic domain boundaries in the Nb-STO layer and spin disordering in the LBMO layer, the tunneling resistance through the junction is high at zero magnetic field. The spin disordering is suppressed upon applying a non-zero magnetic field, which results in the spin-polarized tunneling in this ferromagnetic/depletion layer/dynamic ferromagnetic sandwiched structure and thus the observed TMR effect. The dependence of the TMR effect on the domain size in the LBMO layer, the tunneling current and temperature as well is explained, qualitatively consistent with the experimental observation. 相似文献

Conventional fabrication method of porous silicon is anodisation of single crystal silicon in hydrofluoric acid. In this report, we show that it is possible to fabricate porous silicon by laser-induced etching. An earlier report by us has demonstrated the dependence of porous silicon photoluminescence characteristic on the etching laser wavelength [1]. Here we used 780 nm line from a diode laser as the etching source, and the optimum etching conditions were obtained. A simple model was proposed to explain the etching process. The nine independent stiffness constants Cpq for rolled nylon 66 at thickness reduction ratios λt = 2.4, 4.9, 7.6 have been measured from ?40 to 50°C by an ultrasonic method at 10 MHz. Analysis of x-ray pole figures indicates that at high λt the material has a uniplanar-axial texture, with hydrogen-bonded (010) planes parallel to the roll plane and the molecular chains along the roll direction. The mechanical behavior is determined not only by the alignment of molecular chains and hydrogen bonds but also by the microfibrillar morphology. On the basis of this idea the magnitudes of the tensile moduli along the three principal axes can be understood in terms of the Takayanagi model.
