We experimentally studied the spatial coherence of random laser emission from dye solutions containing nanoparticles. The spatial coherence, measured in a double slit experiment, varied significantly with the density of scatterers and the size and shape of the excitation volume. A qualitative explanation is provided, illustrating the dramatic difference from the spatial coherence of a conventional laser. This work demonstrates that random lasers can be controlled to provide intense, spatially incoherent emission for applications in which spatial cross talk or speckle limit performance. 相似文献

The great prevalence of thin‐layer chromatography over high‐performance liquid chromatography is connected with the possibility of analyzing many samples in parallel. Therefore, the method is often used in screening and/or effect directed analysis to compare composition and chemical/biological properties of many samples in one run. It was already proved, that high performance thin‐layer chromatography, in many cases, can replace high‐performance liquid chromatography for quantitative analysis. The main aim of the paper is to show that simple thin‐layer chromatography can also be used as a quantitative or at least as a semi‐quantitative method, even when it concerns effect directed analysis e.g. direct bioautography. Chlorogenic acid content was measured in four methanol extracts of various green coffees and in one extract of black coffee using thin‐layer chromatography with ultraviolet detection and thin‐layer chromatography with effect directed detection. High‐performance liquid chromatography was used as a reference method. Additionally, total contents of polyphenols and antioxidants were estimated using thin‐layer chromatography or dot‐blot on chromatography plates. These results were compared to spectrophotometric methods. It was proved that thin‐layer chromatography can be used as a quantitative (using densitometry) or semi‐quantitative method (using other detection methods including effect directed detection) as well as for estimating total antioxidants or polyphenols content. 相似文献

An improvement in the adsorption characterization of the surface and structural properties of unmodified and modified mesoporous silica gels is presented. This improvement was achieved by selection of proper macroporous silica as the reference solid for adsorption characterization of porous silica gels. Experimental illustration is provided for unmodified and n-octyl-modified silica gels of different bonding density. The surface and structural properties of these silica gels were characterized by utilizing the standard adsorption data for both unmodified and octyl-modified LiChrospher Si-1000 macroporous silica gels. It was shown that the standard nitrogen adsorption data have an appreciable influence on the analysis of the pore size and surface properties of silica gels. This analysis can be improved by selecting the reference solid of the surface properties close to those of the silica gel studied. 相似文献

In vacuo trimethylation of the N-terminus of a lyophilized peptide with methyl iodide was previously reported to enhance the peptide's signal in matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) and to suppress alkali adduct formation in electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). Both the signal enhancement and alkali adduct suppression observed for methylated peptides are believed to be due to the permanent positive charge on the N-terminus of the peptide resulting from the formation of a quaternary ammonium moiety. The present work evaluates the general utility of the in vacuo methylation procedure for the MS analysis of peptides, and specifically addresses the issue of whether the methylation of nucleophilic sites other than the N-terminal amine affects the MALDI signal of modified peptides. This work establishes that, although certain side-chain modifications are inevitable using present reaction conditions, the derivatization leads to significant MALDI-MS signal improvement. The experimental results demonstrate that the N-terminal trimethylammonium derivatives of peptides exhibit MALDI signals comparable to or exceeding those of arginine-containing standards such as angiotensin I. The advantages and limitations of the in vacuo methylation procedure are discussed. 相似文献

Fast isocratic reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) separation of four tetracyclines and flumequine was obtained using a Zorbax SB-C18 column. Baseline resolution was achieved in 11 min. The peaks were narrow, well separated and without any tails although there was no chelating agents added to the mobile phase. Due to the chaotropic effect, the addition of potassium perchlorate allowed controlling the tetracyclines retention while the retention of flumequine was almost constant. 相似文献
