Tight-binding calculations with an extended Hückel Hamiltonian were performed on Ba2/3Pt3B2 and LuOs3B2. Hypothetical linear metal boride chains present in these materials are analyzed with a three-dimensional model that contains a trigonal bipyramidal T3B2 (T = transition metal) building unit for the compounds. The geometrical structure for the T3B2 trigonal bipyramids depends on the number of electrons. For systems that have greater than 36 electrons in its trigonal bipyramidal building unit, a structural distortion is expected. Electron back donation from the electron-rich M3 fragment to the empty e′ set on B2 creates boron–boron interaction along the z-axis. Boron–boron pairing then participates as an electron sink and causes a trigonal distortion of the platinum Kagome net. On the other hand, a system with <35 electrons should have an undistorted, CeCo3B2 type structure. The electronic factors that create the breathing motion are discussed and analyzed with the aid of molecular and solid-state models. The metal–metal bonding associated with the structural properties also has been examined.  相似文献

The analysis of mineral contents in space foods is needed to obtain an information on a comprehensive elemental composition as well as the investigation on the effects of human nutrition and health based on the dietary intake of mineral elements. Recently, six items of new Korean space foods (KSFs) such as kimchi, bibimbap, bulgogi, a ramen, a mulberry beverage and a fruit punch which was developed by the KAERI, and the contents of more than 15 elements in the samples were examined by using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). Five biological certified reference materials, NIST SRM were used for analytical quality control. The results were compared with those of common Korean foods reported, and these results will be applied toward the identification of irradiated foods.  相似文献

The dominant species in the early stages of an emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization of styrene has been found to be an oligomer of two to three monomer units using a novel trapping technique. This involved the intercalation of charged primary oligomers between the layers of a hydrotalcite, [Mg4Al2(OH)12]2+[A]2- (where A = dianion). Hydrotalcites are an important class of lamellar, inorganic compounds whose interlayer spacing can be mod-ified by anion exchange. Our approach first involved preparing a hydrotalcite precursor in which the layers were propped apart by an organic dianion (terephthalate = TA). This material was then used to capture the negatively charged polystyrene oligomers from the emulsion polymerization reaction mixture. We found that TA was rapidly ion-exchanged for the charged oligomers. The resulting pillared hydrotalcite material was characterized using XRD and SEC. We found that the interlayer spacing between the hydroxide layers increased to 23.2 Å on exposure to the emulsion reaction mixture. This represents an interlayer expansion of 18.3 Å (after subtraction of the hydroxide layer contribution), which is cnsistent with intercalation of oligomers with two to three monomer units arranged in a bilayer. Cognitive disorders can be associated with brain trauma, neurodegenerative disease or as a part of physiological aging. Aging in humans is generally associated with deterioration of cognitive performance and, in particular, learning and memory. Different therapeutic approaches are available to treat cognitive impairment during physiological aging and neurodegenerative or psychiatric disorders. Traditional herbal medicine and numerous plants, either directly as supplements or indirectly in the form of food, improve brain functions including memory and attention. More than a hundred herbal medicinal plants have been traditionally used for learning and memory improvement, but only a few have been tested in randomized clinical trials. Here, we will enumerate those medicinal plants that show positive effects on various cognitive functions in learning and memory clinical trials. Moreover, besides natural products that show promising effects in clinical trials, we briefly discuss medicinal plants that have promising experimental data or initial clinical data and might have potential to reach a clinical trial in the near future.  相似文献

A multilayer of CdSe quantum dots (QDs) was prepared on the mesoporous surface of a nanoparticulate TiO(2) film by a layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly using the electrostatic interaction of the oppositely charged QD surface for application as a sensitizer in QD-sensitized TiO(2) solar cells. To maximize the absorption of incident light and the generation of excitons by CdSe QDs within a fixed thickness of TiO(2) film, the experimental conditions of QD deposition were optimized by controlling the concentration of salt added into the QD-dissolved solutions and repeating the LBL deposition a few times. A proper concentration of salt was found to be critical in providing a deep penetration of QDs into the mesopore, thus leading to a dense and uniform distribution throughout the whole TiO(2) matrix while anchoring the oppositely charged QDs alternately in a controllable way. A series of post-treatments with (1) CdCl(2), (2) thermal annealing, and (3) ZnS-coating was found to be very critical in improving the overall photovoltaic properties, presumably through a better connection between QDs, effective passivation of QD's surface, and a high impedance of recombination, which were proved by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) experiments. With a proper post-treatment of multilayered QDs as a sensitizer, the overall power conversion efficiency in the CdSe QD-sensitized TiO(2) solar cells could reach 1.9% under standard illumination condition of simulated AM 1.5G (100 mW/cm(2)).  相似文献

The cyanation of aromatic boronic acids, boronate esters, and borate salts was developed under copper-mediated oxidative conditions using ammonium iodide and DMF as the source of nitrogen and carbon atom of the cyano unit, respectively. The procedure was successfully extended to the cyanation of electron-rich benzenes, and regioselective introduction of a cyano group at the arene C-H bonds was also achieved. The observation that the reaction proceeds via a two-step process, initial iodination and then cyanation, led us to propose that ammonium iodide plays a dual role to provide iodide and nitrogen atom of the cyano moiety.  相似文献

The mixing of Ag ion-doped poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) produced Ag ion-doped polyelectrolyte complex particles (PECs) in solution. Positively charged Ag ion-doped PECs (Ag ion PECs) with a spherical shape were deposited alternatively with PAA to form a multilayer assembly. The multilayered film containing Ag ion PECs was reduced to generate a composite nanostructure. Metal nanoparticle (NP)-enriched nanocomposite films were formed by an additional process of the postadsorption of precursors on PECs within the nanocomposite films, which resulted in the enhancement of the catalytic and electrical properties of the composite films. Because the films contain PECs that are responsive to changes in pH and most of the NPs are embedded in the PECs, interesting catalytic properties, which are unexpected in a particle-type catalyst, were observed upon pH changes. As a result of the reversible structural changes of the films and the immobilization of the NPs within the films, the film-type catalysts showed enhanced performance and stability during catalytic reactions under various pH conditions, compared to particle-type catalysts.  相似文献

The configurations of metallocyclams are of interest in relation to protein recognition and anti-HIV activity. We have synthesised four novel zinc(II) complexes with hexyl-Me(2)-cyclam (HMC; 3,14-dimethyl-2,6,13,17-tetraazatricyclo(16.4.0.0(7,12))docosane), 1, and naphthyl-hexyl-Me(2)-cyclam (NHMC; 2,13-bis(1-naphthylmethyl)-5,16-dimethyl-2,6,13,17-tetraazatricyclo(16.4.0.0(7,12))docosane), 2, as ligands. X-ray crystallographic data for Zn(II)-HMC diacetate, 3 show that zinc is six-coordinate in a distorted octahedral environment bound to four equatorial N atoms from the macrocycle and two axial acetato O atoms. The 14-membered metallo-macrocycle adopts a trans-III (RRSS) configuration with two six-membered rings in chair forms and two five-membered rings in gauche forms. In the chlorido Zn(II)-HMC complex 5, zinc appears to be 5-coordinate with square-pyramidal geometry. Interestingly, the chlorido Zn(II)-NHMC complex 6 crystallised in a trans-I configuration containing 4-coordinate tetrahedral zinc bound to three cyclam ring N atoms, a possible model for intermediates formed during the uptake and release of metals by cyclams. The ligand 1 and the zinc complex 3 were active towards viral strains HIV-1 (III(B)) (IC(50) values of 10.51 ± 0.23 and 3.50 ± 0.33 μM, respectively), and HIV-2 (ROD) (IC(50) values of 133.78 ± 14.10 and >110.67 μM, respectively). 2D [(1)H, (13)C] and [(1)H, (15)N] NMR spectroscopic studies suggested that the types of configurational isomers present in solution depend on the axial ligand.  相似文献
