2-Sulfoterephthalic acid (STA) and disulfoisophthalic acid (DSIA) were synthesized through the sulfonation and the oxidation of m- and p-xylene. The polycondensation reactions of STA and DSIA with aromatic tetraamines gave polybenzimidazoles which contained one or two sulfonic acid groups for each repeating unit. The polymer obtained was soluble in sulfuric acid, some organic solvents, and aqueous strong alkaline solution. The polymers were stable up to 400°C, but they gave polybenzimidazoles above 400°C by eliminating sulfonic acid groups, instead of ring closure.  相似文献

Ordered aromatic polyamides and copolyamides were prepared by the polycondensation of terephthaloyl and isophthaloyl dichlorides with symmetrical diamines containing preformed amide linkages derived from unsymmetrical methyl—substituted aromatic diamines at low temperature. Thermal properties and solubilities of the ordered polyamides were compared with those of the corresponding random polyamides. There was little difference between thermal stabilities of the ordered polyamide and the corresponding random one, while the former was less soluble in organic solvents than the latter, depending on the extent of hydrogen bonding of the amide groups. The thermal stability of the alternating copolyamides containing both terephthaloyl and isophthaloyl groups as acid components was less than that of the corresponding homopolymers having either a terephthaloyl or an isophthaloyl group, and the solubility of the former resembled that of the corresponding ordered homopolysiophthalamides in accord with the extent of hydrogen bonding of the amide groups in both polymers.  相似文献

In this study, the aggregation and breakup behaviors of latex particles in shear flow confined between two parallel plates were investigated using an in situ observation apparatus with a laser scanning confocal microscope. To investigate the effects of shear rate and the gap width between two parallel plates on the size and structure of the aggregates in the steady state, the distributions of the projected cross-sectional area and perimeter-based fractal dimension of the aggregates were measured. As a result, the average size of the aggregates decreases as shear rate increases and the gap width decreases due to the hydrodynamic effect acting on the aggregates. The size distributions of the aggregates become narrow as the gap width decreases. In addition, the fractal dimension, that is, the structure of the aggregates, was almost independent of shear rate and the gap width and approximately 1.2, which suggests that the aggregates are relatively compact.  相似文献

We have designed, synthesized and evaluated dibenzothiophenylacetylene homologues as new heterocyclic molecules which were expected to have high δα values and short wavelength UV absorption spectra. The dibenzothiophenyl acetylene homologues exhibited wide nematic phase ranges and had very high extrapolated δn of over 0.6 and directly measured values of 0.5. The compounds with two dibenzothiophenyl rings were colourless, so that we have succeeded in obtaining colourless super-high δn liquid crystals. We have also analysed the contribution of the transition band to the refractive indices and the birefringence. From the analysis, the main origins of δn for compounds 1 and 2 are lower MOs than the HOMO and this results in the compatibility of large δn and lack of colour. The dibenzothiophenylacetylene compounds behaved according to our design expectations.  相似文献

The oxidative intramolecular cyclization of 3-hydroxyalkyl-1,2,4-trimethoxynaphthalenes was investigated. A series of 1,2-naphthoquinone fused cyclic ethers were synthesized directly from 3-hydroxyalkyl-1,2,4-trimethoxynaphthalenes by exposure to diammonium cerium (IV) nitrate. To understand the reaction mechanism, the intramolecular cyclization of 3-hydroxyalkyl-naphthoquinones that were formed as reaction intermediates was also examined. The results suggested that the reaction proceeds by a stepwise oxidation–cyclization mechanism. Using this methodology, five-step synthesis of rhinacanthone was achieved with high yield.  相似文献

Polymer nanoparticles are readily obtainable by rapidly mixing a dilute polymer solution and a poor solvent. The nanoparticles of poly(vinylphenol), poly(vinylidene fluoride), and emeraldine base polyaniline prepared by nanoprecipitation become sticky when their diameters decrease down to a few tens of nanometers, and such polymer nanoparticles spontaneously assemble into rigid fractal networks of the nanoparticles. By filtering these fibrous nanoparticle networks on a microfiltration membrane, ultrafiltration membranes with a thin free‐standing filter cake layer made of nanoparticles are obtainable. The nanoparticle membranes are robust at least up to the applied pressure of 2 MPa and can separate 99% of 10 nm Au nanoparticles from the aqueous dispersion at the flux of more than 1835 L m?2 h?1 even at very low pressure difference of 0.08 MPa. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The relationship between the photocatalytic activity and the arrangement of metal cations was investigated with Sr-Al-Nb-O double perovskite (SAN) synthesized at 1400 °C for various calcination times using a solid state reaction. Transmission electron microscopic observation revealed that SAN particles had a domain structure of completely B-site ordered (Sr(2)AlNbO(6)) and disordered (SrAl(0.5)Nb(0.5)O(3)) phases. The ordered phase fraction was determined using a newly proposed mixed-phase model for the Rietveld refinement and a method using the relative intensity of the superlattice line of powder X-ray diffraction. It turned out that the mass fraction of the ordered phase in SAN calcined at 1400 °C could be controlled by the calcination time as 33% (10 h), 37% (20 h), 44% (30 h), and 48% (50 h). Photocatalytic activities of SAN for the evolution of H(2) and O(2) respectively from aqueous solutions of methanol and AgF decreased with increasing the calcination time, that is, with increasing the fraction of the ordered phase. These results suggested that the photocatalytic activity of ordered Sr(2)AlNbO(6) should be lower than that of disordered SrAl(0.5)Nb(0.5)O(3). This is practically the first report to reveal the photocatalytic activity of SAN as well as the effect of cation ordering in oxides on the photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

A series of organic/inorganic hybrid materials containing the single-molecule magnet [Mn12(CH3COO)16(H2O)4O12]·2CH3COOH·4H2O with the photochromic compounds azobenzene or disperse red 1 cast into polymethyl methacrylate films was prepared. To understand the photomodulation of analogous mixtures’ AC susceptibility, we investigated the molecular alignment based on Weigert’s effect accompanying cycles of cis-trans photoisomerization by alternate irradiations with polarized UV and visible light. Polarized electronic spectra of the hybrid materials demonstrated gradually increasing anisotropy. These features suggest interactions between photochromic compounds and the Mn12 complex in polymethyl methacrylate.   相似文献

It has been reported that the repeated administration of a sub-anesthetic dose of an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist, ketamine, can produce an animal model of schizophrenia. Since no information is available on the alterations of the amino acid levels in ketamine-treated rats, we investigated the amino acid composition in the plasma and cerebrospinal fluid of rats that were repeatedly administered with ketamine for 5 consecutive days (30 mg/kg/day). The plasma and cerebrospinal fluid amino acid compositions in the fifth week after cessation of repeated ketamine administration were determined by highperformance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection using a pre-column fluorescence reagent, i.e. 4-fluoro-7nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole. Among the amino acids investigated in the present study, the level of plasma glutamic acid increased significantly (p < 0.05), while that of the cerebrospinal fluid glutamic acid decreased significantly in the ketamine-treated rats as compared with these levels in control rats injected with saline (p < 0.05, n = 7). These alterations in the glutamic acid level in the plasma and cerebrospinal fluid resemble those in schizophrenic patients, suggesting that ketamine-treated rats may be a useful model for performing research on the pathophysiology of schizophrenia.  相似文献
