The infrared absorption spectra of two related compounds, butyronitrile (CH3CH2-CH2CN) and methylthioacetonitrile (CH3SCH2CN) have been examined in the liquid and solid phases. Vapour phase spectra of butyronitrile have also been recorded. Evidence is given for the existence of two rotational isomers trans and gauche, for both compounds. In both cases the energy difference between the two rotamers appears to be small with the gauche form identified as the low energy conformer for butyronitrile. For methylthioacetonitrile it was not possible to determine the more stable rotational isomer.  相似文献

Reactions are described that employ 90°-1,3-butadiene as a reference structure for the evaluation of the stabilization energyof the benzenoid and other cyclic conjugated hydrocarbons. The unique benefits of this rotamer of butadiene as a reference molecule within the homodesmotic conceptual framework are discussed. Differential thermal analyses (DTA) were made on a series of polyester/cotton blend fabrics before and after treatment with Thpc—urea—poly(vinyl bromide). This flame retardant did not affect the polyester melting endotherm, which was proportional to the polyester content and appeared at approximately 250°C. In nitrogen atmosphere, DTA of the treated blends showed exothermic peaks at 285°C for the cotton decomposition. and at 415°C for the polyester decomposition. In air, DTA of the treated blends showed exothermic peaks at 333°C for cellulose decomposition, at 431°C for polyester decomposition and at 490°C for char decomposition. The Thpc-urea component of the flame retardant is effective on the cotton cellulose portion of the blend; the poly(vinyl bromide) appears to decompose and act in the vapor state on the polyester.  相似文献

Exposure of (CO)5MnPbPh3 to 60Co γ-ray at 77 K gave one major paramagnetic species detectable by ESR spectroscopy. This exhibited an anisotropic hyperfine interaction with 55Mn, near free-spin g-values, and a small, almost isotropic coupling to 207Pb. The form of the A(55Mn) and g-tensor components suggest an orbital of dz2 symmetry on manganese for the unpaired electron, but this cannot be directed along the MnPb bond since the 207Pb hyperfine coupling indicates a very low spin-density on lead. We suggest that the centre is formed by electron addition to manganese to give a formal d7 centre, with concomitant loss of one equatorial carbonyl ligand. We defind z as the direction of the lost ligand. A second centre, detected at high gain, having a large hyperfine coupling to 207Pb and a 31 G coupling to 55Mn is tentatively identified as the parent cation.In marked contrast, the molecule (CO)4CoPbPh3 gave a single centre having comparable 59Co hyperfine and g-tensor components, but also a very large hyperfine coupling to 207Pb (ca. 3300 G). Thus, in this case, an electron gain centre (d9) has been formed, the electron being accomodated in the highest MO having a large dz2 component on cobalt (z being now the CoPb direction).Reasons for the adoption of these different structures are discussed.  相似文献

The reactions of 2-amino-3-hydroxypyridine and 2-chloro-3-nitropyridine in various solvents and in the presence of certain catalysts were studied. A dilute acid-catalysed procedure led to a 45% yield of 3-hydroxy-3-nitro-2,2-dipyridylamine which was also obtained by refluxing in alcoholic potassium hydroxide for several hours. The diarylamine was converted to 1,9-diazaphenoxazine by base-catalysed intramolecular condensation in refluxing DMSO. The same diazaphenoxazine was obtained directly by prolonged base-catalysed reaction of the starting pyridine compounds in DMSO. From a study of the infrared spectrum of the diarylamine precursor, it was found that strong NHO hydrogen bonding is responsible for the failure of the cyclization step in either aqueous or alcoholic base. This problem was overcome by the use of DMSO as the reaction solvent. Structural assignments were made by a study of their ultraviolet, infrared, nmr and mass spectra and the mechanistic pathways were also discussed.  相似文献

Titanates are versatile in the 1,4 polymerization of isoprene. The (R′O)4Ti/RAlCl2 catalyst gives either cis- or trans-1,4-polyisoprene, depending on the nature of both the titanate and the solvent. Primary titanates give cis-1,4-polyisoprene in both aliphatic and aromatic solvents. Secondary titanates give cis-polyisoprene in aliphatic solvents, and trans-1,4-polyisoprene in aromatic solvents. Tertiary titanates give trans-polyisoprene in both aliphatic and aromatic solvents. A mechanism is postulated which takes into consideration the role of the solvent. ESR studies of the various titanate–RAlCl2 catalysts were made; the paramagnetic structures are related to polymerization mechanisms.  相似文献

Ozonation followed by lithium aluminum hydride reduction cleaved high molecular weight isotactic poly(propylene oxide) to crystalline polyglycols. From the melting point and molecular weight of the latter, the molar freezing point depression produced by end groups is found to be ca. 18°C./mole, as compared to that estimated for poly(ethylene glycols), Kf = 12°C./mole, from earlier data. By assuming syndiotactic placements (or other irregularities) would produce the same molar depression, the melting point of isotactic poly(propylene oxides) produced by various catalysts has been used to estimate the isotactic sequence lengths.  相似文献
