Regularity of the inverse of a homeomorphism with finite inner distortion

Let f:Ω→ f(Ω) R~n be a W~(1,1)-homeomorphism with L~1-integrable inner distortion.We show that finiteness of min{lip_f(x),k_f/(x)},for every x ∈Ω\E,implies that f~(-1) ∈ W~(1,n)and has finite distortion,provided that the exceptional set E has cr-finite H~1-measure.Moreover,/ has finite distortion,differentiable a.e.and the Jacobian J_f 0 a.e.     

Quasi-maximum likelihood estimators in generalized linear models with autoregressive processes

The paper studies a generalized linear model(GLM)y_t = h(x_t~T β) + ε_t,t = l,2,...,n,where ε_1 = η_1,ε_1 =ρε_t +η_t,t = 2,3,...;n,h is a continuous differentiable function,η_t's are independent and identically distributed random errors with zero mean and finite variance σ~2.Firstly,the quasi-maximum likelihood(QML) estimators of β,p and σ~2 are given.Secondly,under mild conditions,the asymptotic properties(including the existence,weak consistency and asymptotic distribution) of the QML estimators are investigated.Lastly,the validity of method is illuminated by a simulation example.     

Boundary Value Problem of the Nonstationary Stokes System in the Half Space

In this paper, we study the boundary value problem of the nonstationary Stokes system in \({\mathbb R}^{n}_+\times (0,T)\) . We generalize the result of (Hofmann and Nystrom Methods Appl. Anal. 9(1), 12–98, 2002; Koch and Solonnikov J. Math. Sci. 106, 3042–3072, 2001; Shen Am. J. Math. 113(2), 293–373, 1991) to a general anisotropic Besov space.

Approximately global optimization for assortment problems using piecewise linearization techniques

Recently, Li and Chang proposed an approximate model for assortment problems. Although their model is quite promising to find approximately global solution, too many 0–1 variables are required in their solution process. This paper proposes another way for solving the same problem. The proposed method uses iteratively a technique of piecewise linearization of the quadratic objective function. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed method is computationally more efficient than the Li and Chang method.     

Fabrication of a freestanding GaN layer by direct growth on a ZnO template using hydride vapor phase epitaxy

A new hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE)-based approach for the fabrication of freestanding GaN (FS-GaN) substrates was investigated. For the direct formation of low-temperature GaN (LT-GaN) layers, the growth parameters were optimized: the polarity of ZnO, the growth temperature, and the V/III ratio. The FS-GaN layer was achieved by gas etching in an HVPE reactor. A fingerprint of Zn out-diffusion was detected in the photoluminescence measurements, especially for the thin (80 μm) FS-GaN film; however, a thicker film (400 μm) was effectively reduced by optimization of GaN growth.     

Lanostane-type triterpenoids from Diospyros discolor

Four new lanostane-type triterpenes, 24-ethyl-3beta-methoxylanost-9(11)-en-25-ol (1), 3beta-methoxy-24-methylenelanost-9(11)-en-25-ol (2), 3beta-methoxy-25-methyl-24-methylenelanost-9(11)-en-21-ol (3) and 3beta-methoxy-24-methyllanosta-9(11),25-dien-24-ol (4) together with three known triterpenes, betulinaldehyde, betulinic acid methyl ester, and ursaldehyde have been isolated from the methanol extract of the twigs of Diospyros discolor. The structures of those new compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.     

Measurement of the wrong-sign decays D0 --> K+ pi- pi0 and D0 --> K+ pi- pi+ pi-, and search for CP violation

Using 281 fb-1 of data from the Belle experiment recorded at or near the (4S) resonance, we have measured the rates of the "wrong-sign" decays D0 --> K+ pi- pi0 and D0 --> K+ pi- pi+ pi- relative to those of the Cabibbo-favored decays D0 --> K- pi+ pi0 and D0 --> K- pi+ pi+ pi-. These wrong-sign decays proceed via a doubly Cabibbo-suppressed amplitude or via D0-D0 mixing; the latter has not yet been observed. We obtain R(WS)(K pi pi0) = [0.229 +/- 0.015(stat)(+0.013)(-0.009)(syst)]% and R(WS)(K3pi) = [0.320 +/- 0.018(stat)(+0.018)(0.013)(syst)]%. The CP asymmetries are measured to be -0.006 +/- 0.053 and -0.018 +/- 0.044 for the K+ pi- pi0 and K+ pi- pi+ pi- final states, respectively.     

Theoretical study on conformational conversion of 1,3-dioxane inside a capsular host

The conformational conversion of 1,3-dioxane guest encapsulated inside a cylindrical capsular host was investigated with PM3 method and single point energies were evaluated by B3LYP method. When entrapped in the capsule, the guest tumbles were slower than that in the free condition. The influences of the inner phase of the capsule on the guest conformational conversion were discussed in detail.
