Synthesis and fungicidal activity of novel strobilurin analogues containing substituted N-phenylpyrimidin-2-amines

A number of novel strobilurin analogues containing substituted N-phenylpyrimidin-2-amines were synthesized.The structures of these new compounds were confirmed by ~1H NMR,IR and elemental analysis.Biological evaluation in the greenhouse showed several compounds have good fungicidal activities at 25 mg/L.     

Mutually pumped phase conjugator using a BaTiO3 crystal having two inclined faces

A pentagon-shaped undoped BaTiO₃ crystal was used to construct a high-quality mutually pumped phase conjugator. It yields two very stable phase-conjugate outputs (ǃ.7% fluctuation in intensity) with high reflectivity (the highest ᅝ%) when the two incident beams are of equal intensities. The response time of the conjugator is rather fast (ƻ s) and the tolerance of the acceptance angle is large too (걄°). Fine structures (35 7m) in an image, after passing through a phase aberrator, can be recovered by the conjugate waves yielded by this conjugator.     

Determination of inorganic anions in ethyl acetate by in-line hollow fiber membrane extraction with ion chromatography

In this work,a novel hollow fiber membrane extractor was set up to extract inorganic anions from ethyl acetate using deionized water.Inorganic anions in slightly soluble organic solvents can be determined by the in-line hollow fiber membrane extractor coupled with ion chromatography at first time.Different aspects of the extraction procedure such as magnetic stirring speed, extraction flow rate and extraction time were optimized to achieve high extraction efficiency and good separation results. p‐Methoxy­benz­aldehyde benzoyl­hydrazone monohydrate

The crystal structure of the title compound, C₁₅H₁₄N₂O₂·H₂O, is in the keto tautomeric form and the configuration at the azomethine C=N double bond is E. The mol­ecule is non‐planar, with a dihedral angle of 27.3 (1)° between the aromatic rings. The crystal structure is stabilized by extensive hydrogen bonding involving the water mol­ecule and hydrazone moiety.     

More spherical large fullerenes and multi-layer fullerene cages

According to the experimental investigation, the carbon nano-particles have spherical multi-layer structure (also called onion-like carbon structure). Theoretically, the optimum structures of these large fullerenes contain highly faceted shapes with icosahedral symmetry. This discrepancy in structure may be attributed to the formation mechanism. Thus, a method is devised to construct spherical large fullerenes (C₂₄₀, C₅₄₀, C₉₆₀, C₂₁₆₀, C₂₉₄₀, C₃₈₄₀, C₄₈₆₀) by using the triangular motif. The 5–7–5–7 shape defect is applied in this method for assembling the large spherical fullerenes which could transform the graphene sheet to a spherical motif via SW rearrangement. The geometry-optimized structures of large spherical fullerenes have been generated by molecular mechanics calculation. Then, the average radius and standard deviation of these large fullerenes were obtained to verify the spherical shape. The multi-layer fullerene with spherical shape was confirmed by the TEM observation. According to the structure analysis, the distance between two neighboring encapsulating carbons is about 3.5 Å, which approximately coincides with the distance between two layers of graphite. The van der Waals force per carbon atom and of multi-layer fullerene with the spherical shape generated by force field calculation, predict their relative stability.     

Synthesis, activity evaluation and 3D-QSAR study of some novel derivatives of 4, 5, 6, 7-tetrahydrothieno [3,2-c] pyridine

A series of novel derivatives of 4, 5, 6, 7-tetrahydrothieno [3,2-c] pyridine were synthesized and structurally characterized by 1H NMR and MS. Their in vivo anti-platelet aggregation activities were evaluated. A 3D-QSAR was performed using the CoMFA and the CoMSIA. This model provided useful guidelines for novel anti-platelet thienopyridines design.     

Flow-induced vibration in two-phase flow with wire coil inserts

Information of flow-induced vibration (FIV) in two-phase flow with wire coil inserts at atmospheric pressure, is presented in this study. FIV was measured in an upward vertical tube for four different wire coil inserts using an air–water mixture as process fluid. Vibration increased along with mass flux and quality. The narrower wire coils produced more vibration. The FIV prediction correlation for two-phase flow with wire coil inserts was experimentally developed with coefficient correlation value of 0.956.
