A Comparative Study of Nucleon Structure in Light-Front Quark Models in AdS/QCD

We present a comparative study of nucleon structure such as electromagnetic form factors, transverse charge and magnetization densities in three different models within AdS/QCD framework.     

High-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry of enterostatins in biological samples

The three forms of enterostatin (Ala-Pro-Gly-Pro-Arg, Val-Pro-Gly-Pro-Arg, and Val-Pro-Asp-Pro-Arg), pentapeptides known to inhibit fat-intake, were resolved on a C₁₈ reversed-phase column using a ternary mobile phase consisting of methanol, acetonitrile, and water. Coupled with MS/MS detection, the method has been applied to identify enterostatin sequences in human cerebrospinal fluid and rat brain tissue. Ala-Pro-Gly-Pro-Arg (APGPR) was found to be the predominant enterostatin sequence in both cases. The levels of APGPR were 98.3±16.3 ng/ml in human cerebrospinal fluid and 30.1±12.6 ng/g wet tissue in rat brain, respectively.     

A novel method for functionalization of C-4 methyl in triterpenoids. A synthesis of cycloeucalanone

Functionalization of 4-methyl group in cycloartane-type triterpenoids has been accomplished utilizing, in the key step, photolytic decomposition of an hypoiodite derived from a 3β-hydroxymethyl-4,4-dimethyl precursor. The synthesis of cycloeucalanone from cyclolaudanone is reported.     

Rapid diastereocontrolled synthesis of 2,2,5-trisubstituted pyrrolidines

2,2,5-Trisubstituted pyrrolidines are available from allylic pyroglutamates by Ireland-Claisen ester rearrangement followed by Eschenmoser sulfide contraction and reduction in a highly diastereoselective and efficient sequence. Some of the products from this sequence exhibit activity against S. aureus, but are much less active against E. coli.

Enantioselective Nitroso‐Diels–Alder Reaction and Its Application for the Synthesis of (−)‐Peracetylated Conduramine A‐1

Cu^I‐catalyzed enantioselective nitroso‐Diels–Alder reactions (NDA reactions) of 2‐nitrosopyridine with various dienes are presented. The [CuPF₆(MeCN)₄]/Walphos‐CF₃ catalyst system is best suited to catalyze the NDA reaction of various dienes by using 2‐nitrosopyridine as a dienophile. In most of the cases studied, cycloadducts are obtained in quantitative yield with very good to excellent enantioselectivities. Based on DFT calculations, a model to explain the stereochemical outcome of the NDA reaction is presented. Finally, an efficient short synthesis of (?)‐peracetylated conduramine A‐1 by applying the enantioselective NDA reaction as a key step is described.
