This article covers the incompatible properties of nitric acid (HNO3) with formic acid (CH2O2), and more generally with various acids such as sulfuric acid (H2SO4), hydrochloric acid (HCl), and acetic acid (C2H4O2). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was employed to determine the thermal hazard such as heat of decomposition (ΔH d), exothermic onset temperature (T 0), etc., in various acids. T 0 of HNO3 and CH2O2 were determined as 50 °C using DSC. Thus it has been observed that HNO3 mixed with CH2O2 should be prohibited during transportation, storage, and use. And more generally, process safety engineers and operator must take care to handle tanker and storage tank of typical acids in the transportation, storage, and manufacturing process. It is clear that there exists a need to follow and enforce in the chemical industries safety data sheets, globally harmonized system of classification and labeling of chemicals of United Nations (UN), education of safety and health, emergency response system, and process safety management. Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a nanoscale and useful biomaterial with a fine fiber network and high water holding capacity. However, dried BC exhibits poor rehydration ability. The present study investigated the rehydration ability of composites of hydrolyzed gelatin peptides (HGP) and hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose-modified BC (HBC). The HGP with molecular weights <9 kDa were obtained by hydrolyzing gelatin with a combination of 1 % alcalase and 1.5 % pronase E at 50 °C for 2 h. The HGP/HBC nanocomposites exhibited higher rehydration ratios than composites prepared with gelatin. According to SEM images, gelatin and HGP successfully penetrated the cellulose network in composite films prepared using both immersion and adsorption (DA) methods. The high hydrophilic property of HGP resulted in a rehydration ratio of approximately 180 % at a HGP/HBC ratio of 4.5:1 (W/W) in DA composites. The 1 min rehydrated HGP/HBC composites possessed similar mechanical properties to the original wet type composites. Overall, results indicated that the HGP/HBC composites prepared using the DA method demonstrated the highest rehydration ability among the composite films evaluated. 相似文献

A simple, low-cost, and efficient online focusing method that combines a dynamic pH junction and sweeping by capillary electrophoresis with polymer solutions was developed and optimized for the simultaneous determination of benzoic acid (BA) and sorbic acid (SA). A sample solution consisting of 2.5 mM phosphate at pH 3.0 and a buffer solution containing 15 mM tetraborate (pH 9.2), 40 mM sodium dodecyl sulfate, and 0.100 % (w/v) poly(ethylene oxide) were utilized to realize dynamic pH junction–sweeping for BA and SA. Under the optimized conditions, the entire analysis process was completed in 7 min, and a 900-fold sensitivity enhancement was achieved with limits of detection (S/N?=?3) as low as 8.2 and 6.1 nM for BA and SA, respectively. The linear ranges were between 20 nM and 20 μM for BA and 20 nM and 10 μM for SA, with correlation coefficients greater than 0.992. The recoveries of the proposed method ranged from 90 to 113 %. These satisfactory results indicate that this method has the potential to be an effective analytical tool for the rapid screening of BA and SA in different food products. 相似文献

To date, various affinity-based protein labeling probes have been developed and applied in biological research to modify endogenous proteins in cell lysates and on the cell surface. However, the reactive groups on the labeling probes are also the cause of probe instability and nonselective labeling in a more complex environment, e. g., intracellular and in vivo. Here, we show that labeling probes composed of a sterically stabilized difluorophenyl pivalate can achieve efficient and selective labeling of endogenous proteins on the cell surface, inside living cells and in vivo. As compared with the existing protein labeling probes, probes with the difluorophenyl pivalate exhibit several advantages, including long-term stability in stock solutions, resistance to enzymatic hydrolysis and can be customized easily with diverse fluorophores and protein ligands. With this probe design, endogenous hypoxia biomarker in living cells and nude mice were successfully labeled and validated by in vivo, ex vivo, and immunohistochemistry imaging. 相似文献

Bundle-type mutil-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) composite electrode is the first investigation and publication for the supercapacitor application. According to the thermogravimetric analysis results, as-synthesized BCNTs are considered as the electrode materials for supercapacitors and electrochemical double-layer capacitor in this study. The Brunauer–Emmett–Teller specific surface area of as-prepared bundled carbon nanotubes (BCNTs) is 95.29 m2/g given to a type III isotherm and H3 hysteresis loops. Slow scanning rates promote and enhance to achieve high Cb because of the superior conductivity of CNT bundles and one side close-layered Ni/Mg/Mo alloy inside the BCNT-based electrode and facile electron diffusivity between electrolyte and electrode. The specific capacitance Cs (1,560 F/g) is nearly equal to the maximum specific capacitance, which the BCNT-based composite electrode can actually be able to charge or fill in. The maximum energy density value is 195 Wh/kg with corresponding power density values of 0.21 kW/kg. Furthermore, the active 3D BCNTs material fabricated electrode enhances to contact the electrolyte directly and decreases the ion diffusion limitation. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy spectrum summarized as the low-frequency area controls by mass transfer limitation, and the high-frequency area dominates by charge transfer of kinetic control. After 2,000 consecutive cyclic voltammetry sacnings and galvanostatic charge-discharge cycles at a current density of 1.67 A/g performs, the specific capacitance retentions of 3D BCNTs electrodes achieved 128.2 and 77.3%, respectively. Three-dimensional BCNT composite electrodes exhibit good conductivity and low charge transfer resistance, which is beneficial to fast charge transfer between the BCNTs electrode materials and electrolytes. 相似文献

Mango peels are usually discarded as waste; however, they contain phytochemicals and could provide functional properties to food and promote human health. This study aimed to determine the optimal lactic acid bacteria for fermentation of mango peel and evaluate the effect of mango peel on neuronal protection in Neuron-2A cells against amyloid beta (Aβ) treatment (50 μM). Mango peel can be fermented by different lactic acid bacteria species. Lactobacillus acidophilus (BCRC14079)-fermented mango peel produced the highest concentration of lactic acid bacteria (exceeding 108 CFU/mL). Mango peel and fermented mango peel extracts upregulated brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression for 1.74-fold in Neuron-2A cells. Furthermore, mango peel fermented products attenuated oxidative stress in Aβ-treated neural cells by 27%. Extracts of L. acidophilus (BCRC14079)-fermented mango peel treatment decreased Aβ accumulation and attenuated the increase of subG1 caused by Aβ induction in Neuron-2A cells. In conclusion, L. acidophilus (BCRC14079)-fermented mango peel acts as a novel neuronal protective product by inhibiting oxidative stress and increasing BDNF expression in neural cells. 相似文献

Constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) activation has found to ameliorate diabetes in animal models. However, no CAR agonists are available clinically. Therefore, a safe and effective CAR activator would be an alternative option. In this study, sixty courmarin derivatives either synthesized or purified from Artemisia capillaris were screened for CAR activation activity. Chemical modifications were on position 5,6,7,8 with mono-, di-, tri-, or tetra-substitutions. Among all the compounds subjected for in vitro CAR activation screening, 6,7-diprenoxycoumarin was the most effective and was selected for further preclinical studies. Chemical modification on the 6 position and unsaturated chains were generally beneficial. Electron-withdrawn groups as well as long unsaturated chains were hazardous to the activity. Mechanism of action studies showed that CAR activation of 6,7-diprenoxycoumarin might be through the inhibition of EGFR signaling and upregulating PP2Ac methylation. To sum up, modification mimicking natural occurring coumarins shed light on CAR studies and the established screening system provides a rapid method for the discovery and development of CAR activators. Liposomes composed of cell‐penetrating peptide derivatives increased transport across the cell membrane. Conjugating rhodamine to a cell‐penetrating peptide increased the toxicity of rhodamine in E. coli and zebrafish embryos. A similar total protein inhibition pattern with different intensities, indicating that the interaction pathways of the rho‐KTTKS‐CONH2 monomer and liposomes were the same. It suggests that the rho‐KTTKS‐CONH2 liposomes showed higher toxicity because better transport across the cell membrane increased the effective concentration inside cells. The staining of zebrafish embryos using rho‐KTTKS‐CONH2 liposomes showed a longer retention time, suggesting that it can penetrate deeper tissues or organs in zebrafish. 相似文献

We describe a linear ion-trap (LIT) multiple-stage (MSn) mass spectrometric approach towards differentiation of alkylacyl, alk-1-enylacyl- and diacyl-glycerophoscholines (PCs) as the [M – 15]– ions desorbed by electrospray ionization (ESI) in the negative-ion mode. The MS4 mass spectra of the [M – 15 – R2′CH = CO]– ions originated from the three PC subfamilies are readily distinguishable, resulting in unambiguous distinction of the lipid classes. This method is applied to two alkyl ether rich PC mixtures isolated from murine bone marrow neutrophils and kidney, respectively, to explore its utility in the characterization of complex PC mixture of biological origin, resulting in the realization of the detailed structures of the PC species, including various classes and many minor isobaric isomers. Thermal instability of lithiated cathode materials with organic carbonate were investigated using DSC. Lithium transition metal oxides of LiFePO4, LiMn2O4, and LiCoO2 were mixed with diethyl carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, ethylene carbonate, ethyl methyl carbonate, and propylene carbonate then dynamically screened to about 500 °C. Curves were acquired and analyzed to determine exothermic onset temperatures and reaction enthalpies. These data for assessing the thermal hazards of lithium-ion batteries under discharged conditions were compared to those data published in the literature. 相似文献
