Complexes of the type cis-[PdX2(imzt)(PPh3)] {imzt = imidazolidine-2-thione; PPh3 = triphenylphosphine; X = Cl (1), Br (2), I (3), SCN (4)} have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopies. The complex 1·MeOH was obtained from the reaction of [PdCl2(CH3CN)2], imidazolidine-2-thione and triphenylphosphine in CHCl3/CH3OH. Complexes 2·MeOH, 3 and 4 were prepared by metathesis of the chlorido ligands in 1 with bromide, iodide and thiocyanate, respectively. Elemental analyses showed good agreement with the expected mononuclear compositions, while the molar conductivities of the complexes in DMF were consistent with their nonelectrolytic nature. NMR spectra confirmed coordination of the imidazolidine-2-thione and triphenylphosphine ligands. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction determination of 1·CH3OH showed that the coordination geometry around PdII is nearly square planar, with the chlorido ligands in a cis configuration. All four complexes have been tested in vitro by XTT assay for their cytotoxicity against human glioblastoma cell line (U87MG). The binding of 1 with guanosine was studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy, revealing that the coordination takes place via N7. 相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate antiproliferative activity, antioxidant capacity and tannin content in plants from semi-arid northeastern Brazil (Caatinga). For this study, we selected 14 species and we assayed the methanol extracts for antiproliferative activity against the HEp-2 (laryngeal cancer) and NCI-H292 (lung cancer) cell lines using the (3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazole) (MTT) method. In addition, the antioxidant activity was evaluated with the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) assay, and the tannin content was determined by the radial diffusion method. Plants with better antioxidant activity (expressed in a dose able to decrease the initial DPPH concentration by 50%, or IC50) and with higher levels of tannins were: Poincianella pyramidalis (42.95±1.77 μg/mL IC50 and 8.17±0.64 tannin content), Jatropha mollissima (54.09±4.36μg/mL IC50 and 2.35±0.08 tannin content) and Anadenanthera colubrina (73.24±1.47 μg/mL IC50 and 4.41±0.47 tannin content). Plants with enhanced antiproliferative activity (% living cells) were Annona muricata (24.94±0.74 in NCI-H292), Lantana camara (25.8±0.19 in NCI-H292), Handroanthus impetiginosus (41.8±0.47 in NCI-H292) and Mentzelia aspera (45.61±1.94 in HEp-2). For species with better antioxidant and antiproliferative activities, we suggest future in vitro and in vivo comparative studies with other pharmacological models, and to start a process of purification and identification of the possible molecule(s) responsible for the observed pharmacological activity. We believe that the flora of Brazilian semi-arid areas can be a valuable source of plants rich in tannins, cytotoxic compounds and antioxidant agents. 相似文献

We investigate nonlocality distillation using measures of nonlocality based on the Elitzur-Popescu-Rohrlich decomposition. For a certain number of copies of a given nonlocal box, we define two quantities of interest: (i) the nonlocal cost and (ii) the distillable nonlocality. We find that there exist boxes whose distillable nonlocality is strictly smaller than their nonlocal cost. Thus nonlocality displays a form of irreversibility which we term "bound nonlocality." Even not being described in the EN 14112 standard, PDSC has been used for the determination of the biodiesel oxidative stability,
by OIT and OT measurements. In this study, biodiesel blends were obtained by mixing soybean (BES) and castor (BEM) ethyl esters
and its induction periods were measured by Rancimat and PDSC. The blends (BSM
X
) showed intermediate values of OSI, OT, and OIT, compared with BES and BEM. Although, the molar fraction of the components
varied linearly in BSM
X
, OSI, OT, and OIT values increased exponentially in relation to the castor biodiesel amount in the blends. Introduction of
castor oil biodiesel increased the blend stability, so the BSM30 blend reached the OSI limit of 6 h. OSI, OIT, and OT showed a high-linear correlation, pointing out that PDSC can be used
in the analysis of this kind of biodiesel, with a smaller sample and analysis time, as compared to Rancimat. The use of biodiesel
blends was a good alternative in the correction of the oxidative stability of the final product without the need of antioxidant

Liposome suspensions comprising the synthetic cationic
lipid DOTAP, the zwitterionic DPPC and the anti-cancer agent
Paclitaxel were deposited on solid substrates and investigated by
X-ray and neutron reflectivity measurements at ESRF and ILL. Well
ordered multilamellar drug/lipid membranes were obtained,
such as indicated by the several orders of Bragg reflections in the
diffraction pattern. With an excess of Paclitaxel, additional
Bragg peaks from the drug crystalline phase could be observed.
Changes of the molecular organization in the drug-lipid system were
investigated as a function of relative humidity using a custom-built
controlled humidity chamber. For DOTAP multilayers the effects of
bilayer swelling were much more pronounced than for DPPC under
similar conditions, while the crystalline peaks of the drug were not
affected. The pronounced swelling of DOTAP multilayers might be
related to the electrostatic repulsion between the charged lipid

The ability of lectins to interact with Yersinia pestis strains isolated from rodent fleas and human biological fluids, obtained from different geographic areas, was examined. Lectins of Canavalia ensiformis, Ulex europaeus, Phaseolus vulgaris, and Triticum vulgaris, as well as a new autochthonous lectin of Swartzia pickellii of undefined specificity, were used. Most of the Y. pestis strains did not agglutinate with U. europaeus or C. ensiformis lectin. However, P. vulgaris lectin agglutinated suspensions of all the bacillus strains used. Fifteen of the 19 strains tested positive for assays using S. pickellii lectin. It is believed this is the first report of Y. pestis strain agglutination by lectins. A similar agglutination pattern was obtained for lectins with specificity for oligosaccharides containing N-acetylglucosamine and S. pickellii lectin, which did bind to the affinity matrix chitin, a polysaccharide of N-acetylglucosamine. The use of bacterial strains and commercial lectins of defined specificity may be an approach to providing evidence about the lectin binding sites of undefined monosaccharide specificity. 相似文献

A mild and metal-free method for the chlorodeboronation of organotrifluoroborates using trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCICA) was developed. Aryl-, heteroaryl-, alkenyl-, alkynyl-, and alkyltrifluoroborates were converted into the corresponding chlorinated products in good yields. We study kinetically controlled orientational and structural transitions of molecular thin films during growth in situ and in real time, using diindenoperylene (DIP) as an example. By time-resolved surface-sensitive x-ray scattering (out of plane and in plane), we follow the organic molecular beam deposition of DIP on silicon oxide, on stepped sapphire, and on rubrene as an organic model surface. We identify transitions for the few-monolayer (ML) regime, as well as for thick (several 10's of ML) films. We show that the differences in the interaction of DIP with the substrate change the thickness as well as temperature range of the transitions, which include (transient) strain, subtle changes of the orientation, as well as complete reorientation. These effects should be considered rather general features of the growth of organics, which, with its orientational degrees of freedom, is qualitatively different from growth of inorganics. 相似文献
