Measurements of the magnetic field dependence of spin-lattice relaxation rates and the response of the water-proton signal intensity to off-resonance radio frequency fields show that the commonly used agarose phantom provides a less faithful representation for the magnetic response of tissue than does a cross-linked protein system. The origin of these differences lies in the structure and intramolecular dynamics of the macromolecular system used to make the gel. These distinctions will also cause differences in the magnetic response of the water spin system when paramagnetic relaxation agents or contrast agents are incorporated. The properties of jets produced by a gluon source are examined in QCD. We give a simple derivation of the jet opening angle (up to an undetermined constant) using arguments of general applicability. At asymptotic energies, gluon jets are found to be wider than quark jets in an intuitively natural way. Unfortunately, in the energy range anticipated for PEP or PETRA, the results are quite sensitive to variations in the undetermined constant so that firm quantitative predictions cannot be made within the present approximations. 相似文献

We present a detailed study of the bare pomeron graph in two-dimensional QCD in the 1/Nc approximation. The absence of a new singularity unrelated to quark parameters is derived. To aid the lay public and health professionals, the US National Library of Medicine developed an online resource called 'Genetics Home Reference' (GHR), located at http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/. Launched in April 2003, GHR's goal is to help the public interpret the health implications of the Human Genome Project. It bridges the clinical questions of consumers and the rich technical data emerging from the sequenced human genome. The GHR web site is designed for easy navigation among summaries for genetic conditions and the related gene(s) and chromosome(s). The Equivalence Theorem states that, for a given weight on an alphabet, every isometry between linear codes extends to a monomial transformation of the entire space. Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF MS) is now accepted as a quick, easy-to-use, cost-effective, and accurate technique for the identification of microorganisms. However, the successful identification of microorganisms is dependent upon careful attention to factors such as growth conditions, extraction methods, mass spectral data collection, and data analysis procedures. Currently, most microorganism identification has been limited to the species level, and only a limited number of publications have been successful in achieving strain-level identification. In this work, a “cell-free” approach is introduced where peptide analytes secreted by several Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains during their growth period are analyzed. The analysis of the cell supernatant generates mass spectral patterns that are specific to each strain. The patterns generated in combination with a robust data analysis workflow using the open-source programs MALDIquant and Mass-Up allows for strain-level identification of S. cerevisiae. The cell-free approach using the yeast supernatant to accurately identify yeast strains is presented here as a proof of concept. 相似文献

The threshold autoregressive model with generalized autoregressive conditionally heteroskedastic (GARCH) specification is a popular nonlinear model that captures the well‐known asymmetric phenomena in financial market data. The switching mechanisms of hysteretic autoregressive GARCH models are different from threshold autoregressive model with GARCH as regime switching may be delayed when the hysteresis variable lies in a hysteresis zone. This paper conducts a Bayesian model comparison among competing models by designing an adaptive Markov chain Monte Carlo sampling scheme. We illustrate the performance of three kinds of criteria by comparing models with fat‐tailed and/or skewed errors: deviance information criteria, Bayesian predictive information, and an asymptotic version of Bayesian predictive information. A simulation study highlights the properties of the three Bayesian criteria and the accuracy as well as their favorable performance as model selection tools. We demonstrate the proposed method in an empirical study of 12 international stock markets, providing evidence to strongly support for both models with skew fat‐tailed innovations.
