Within the frame of a screening program aimed at the isolation of amylolytic sporeformers, one strain with high amylolytic
activity designated MIR-23 was selected. The microbial characterization was carried out by morphological and biochemical tests
and, by means of statistical treatment, was identified asBacillus polymyxa. The organism could grow in acidic conditions (pH 5.0) on a starch medium and produce α-amylase, pullulanase, and α-glucosidase.
Batch cultures showed the highest enzyme activities in the stationary phase. Pullulanase activity exhibited an optimal temperature

The octahedral Au6 core is explored for the formation of novel SP3‐hybrid superatomic molecules by considering and Au6 clusters (X= F, Cl, Br, I). The bonding between the four capping atoms and the Au6 core requires a combination of 1S and 1P shells of the core leading to a set of four equivalent hybrid orbitals. Thus, combining the superatom concept with both the Lewis structure model and VSEPR theory contributes to the rationalization of structure and bonding in metal clusters. A novel and efficient synthesis of dibenzo[b,e]oxepin-11(6H)-ones by direct intramolecular ortho-acylation from readily available 2-(phenoxymethyl)benzoic acids was developed. The method takes advantage of a newly developed cooperative system consisting of sustainable FeCl2 and Cl2CHOCH3 as the key components. This methodology is compatible with a wide variety of functional groups in good to excellent yields and high regioselectivity. The synthetic application of new protocol was extended to the synthesis of known tricyclic drug doxepin as well as a small library of oxepin based derivatives. The individual and simultaneous enzymatic determination of ethanol and acetaldehyde in wine by flow injection analysis is described. Individual determinations of 0.002–0.016% (v/v) ethanol or 1.0–8.0 μg ml?1 acetaldehyde with r.s.d. 0.7% and 0.5%, respectively, are done with a single-beam spectrophotometer, based on the use of alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase. A diode-array detector and dual reagent injections are used for the simultaneous determination of the two compounds. The effect of pH on the interfacial adsorption activity of pulmonary surfactant was examined. Measurements of the surface tension were made in a Wilhelmy-like surface microbalance specially designed to assay small volumes of hypophase in thermostatically controlled conditions. Alkaline pH caused a significant decrease of the surface activity of both pulmonary surfactant and a lipid extract from surfactant (LES) (containing all of the lipids and surfactant protein-B (SP-B) and surfactant protein-C (SP-C) hydrophobic surfactant proteins, but lacking surfactant protein-A). The pK calculated from the change of surface activity versus pH was 9.18±0.26 and 9.27±0.31 for pulmonary surfactant and LES, respectively. The results from this study support the idea that electrostatic interactions between basic residues of SP-B and SP-C and negatively charged surfactant phospholipids could be important for the interfacial adsorption activity of pulmonary surfactant. 相似文献

Summary Two fluorimetric methods are proposed for the simultaneous determination of ammonia and urea based on the reaction of the former with o-phthalaldehyde/2-mercaptoethanol and on the use of a dual injection system in which the valves are coupled in series or in parallel. An enzymatic reactor converts urea into ammonia which is determined by the same reaction. These configurations provide very similar results with a linear determination range between 0.5 and 10.0 g ml–1 and a sampling frequency of 60 h–1. The proposed methods are very tolerant to foreign species commonly found in water, as shown by applying them to samples of different origins. 相似文献

A flow-through/first derivative synchronous spectrofluorimetric sensor for the determination of PAH has been described. This sensor has been used for the simultaneous determination of PAH mixtures (pyrene, benzo(e)pyrene and benzo(ghi)perylene). Linear calibration ranges between 10 and 500 ng/ml with acceptable precision (repeatability, expressed as relative standard deviation, smaller than 4.6%, and sampling frequency of 12 h(-1)) have been obtained. The antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of petroleum ether and methanol extracts, fatty acids and methyl esters from leaves of Smilax brasiliensis were evaluated, and the composition of the extracts was determined. Palmitic, linoleic and linolenic acids were major components of the extracts. For antioxidant activity, all samples exhibited IC50 values lower than BHT (2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol). The extracts, fatty acids and methyl esters from S. brasiliensis presented no toxicity to larvae of the brine shrimp, Artemia salina. Among the purified substances, only methyl linolenate showed toxicity (LD50 = 21.47 μg/mL). This study showed, for the first time, the composition of petroleum ether and methanol extracts from S. brasiliensis leaves, as well as the antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of extracts, fatty acids and methyl esters. 相似文献
