The composition-independent virial coefficients of a d-dimensional binary mixture of (additive) hard hyperspheres following from a recent proposal for the equation of state of the mixture (Santos, A., Yuste, S. B., and López de Haro, M., 1999, Molec. Phys., 96, 1) are examined. Good agreement between theoretical estimates and available exact or numerical results is found for d = 2, 3, 4 and 5, except for mixtures whose components are very disparate in size. A slight modification that remedies this deficiency is introduced and the resummation of the associated virial series is carried out, leading to a new proposal for the equation of state. The case of binary hard sphere mixtures (d = 3) is analysed in some detail.  相似文献

Pulsed laser ablation in liquid media (PLALM) is a prominent technique for the controlled fabrication of nanomaterials via rapid reactive quenching of ablated species at the interface between the plasma and liquid. Results on nanoparticles and nanocrystals formed by PLALM of silver (Ag) and antimony (Sb) solid targets in different liquid environments (Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, distilled water) are presented. These experiments were done by irradiating solid targets of Ag and Sb with a nanosecond pulsed Nd:YAG laser output of wavelength 532 nm. Nanoparticles of silver and nanocrystals of antimony oxide (Sb2O3) obtained were characterized using UV-Vis spectrometry, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray Energy Dispersion Analysis (EDAX) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). The morphology of nanomaterials formed is studied as a function of surfactant environment. The silver nanoparticles obtained were spherical of size in the order of 10–35 nm in solution of SDS having different concentrations. In case of the Sb target, ablation was performed in two different molarities of SDS solution and distilled water. Nanocrystals of Sb2O3 in powder form having cubic and orthorhombic phases were formed in SDS solution and as fibers of nanocrystals of cubic Sb2O3 in distilled water.  相似文献

In this work we study the behavior of embedded eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville problems in the half axis under local perturbations. When the derivative of the spectral function is strictly positive, we prove that the embedded eigenvalues either disappear or remain fixed. In this case we show that local perturbations cannot add eigenvalues in the continuous spectrum. If the condition on the spectral function is removed then a local perturbation can add infinitely many eigenvalues.  相似文献

The density and ultrasound velocity of aqueous solutions of tetradecyltrimethylammonium nitrate were measured in the temperature range of 15 to 35°C in 5°C intervals. The concentration range covered the premicellar and micellar regimes. By assuming a pseudophase separation model for the micellar system, we applied the densitometric data to estimate the apparent molar volumes and the apparent thermal expansibility coefficients of the surfactant in monomeric and micellar forms. Ultrasound velocity and density data enabled us to estimate the isentropic compressibility of the surfactant in both forms. The results are compared with relevant literature data for alkyltrimethylammonium bromides.  相似文献

A method is described for the enantiomeric quantitation of some chiral compounds via online coupling of reversed-phase liquid chromatography-gas chromatography. The evaluation of some variables affecting the experimentation (i.e., the packing material used in the interface, volume of the transferred fraction, desorption time, initial temperature of the interface, and purge time) makes it possible to optimize the recoveries obtained for some chiral terpenes and lactones using a capillary column of beta-cyclodextrin dissolved in OV-1701. The proposed method allows the enantiomeric analysis of aqueous matrices obtaining relative standard deviations lower than 9% and detection limits ranging from 0.26-0.93 ppm for the investigated compounds.  相似文献

Theoretical calculations have been used to examine singlet oxygen release from a naphthalene endoperoxide which bears a flexible (CH2)22 polymethylene “lid”. Monte Carlo and ONIOM calculations that incorporated semi-empirical and density functional theory predicted the conformational influence of the polymethylene chain in the cycloreversion of dioxapaddlane, 1,4-diicosa naphthalene-1,4-endoperoxide, to 1O2 and 1,4-diicosa naphthalene. This study attempts to build a connection between 1O2 generation and “jump rope” dynamics of the dioxapaddlane. The polymethylene chain appears to function as a gatekeeper for the oxygen. Instead of coming full circle, a semi-circle rotation of the polymethylene bridge protected the peroxide group, limiting the dissociation of 1O2 from the naphthalene site.
