Etude du Systeme LiPO3-Pr(PO3)3 Donnees sur LiPr(PO3)4

The LiPO₃-Pr(PO₃)₃ system was studied by micro-differential thermal analysis. The only new compound observed in the system was LiPr(PO₃)₄, melting incongruently at 1246 K. An eutectic appears at 926 K. Crystallographic data and powder diagram of the new compound are given. LiPr(PO₃)₄ crystallizes in the C2/c monoclinic system with unit cell: a=16.428(6), b=7.054(3), c=9.747(4) Å, β=126°31′(3), V=910.2 ų, Z=4. The IR and Raman spectra of this compound are given. Non-thermal effects of continuous 2.45 GHz microwaves on Fas-induced apoptosis in human Jurkat T-cell line

Non-thermal effects of microwaves (MWs) are one of the main issues studied for revising standards. The effects of MW exposure on apoptosis at non-thermal level (48 h, 2.45 GHz, 5 mW/cm2) have been studied. Results obtained assess non-thermal MW effects on Fas, but neither on butyrate- nor on ceramide-induced apoptosis in human Jurkat T-cell line. These data show that MW interacts either with Fas pathway between receptor and caspase-3 activation or on membrane proteins (i.e. Fas receptor or neurosphyngomyelinase).     

Taking Advantage of Ortho- and Peri-Substitution to Design Nine-Membered P,O,Si-heterocycles**

A family of cyclic phosphine-disiloxane featuring peri-substituted naphthyl(Nap)/acenaphthyl(Ace) scaffolds has been prepared and fully characterized including X-ray structure, which enables a detailed structural analysis. This straightforward synthesis takes advantage of both ortho- and peri-substitution of Nap/Ace-substituted phosphine oxides. The synthetic method allows diversifying the polycyclic aromatic platform (Nap and Ace) as well as the Si substituents (Me and Ph). Despite a strong steric congestion, the P-atom remains reactive toward oxidation or coordination. In particular, Au(I) complex could be prepared. All the compounds display absorption/luminescence in the UV-Vis range. Surprisingly, the P-trivalent derivatives display unexpected luminescence in the green in solid-state.     

Novel Strategy for the Synthesis of Ultra-Stable Single-Site Mo-ZSM-5 Zeolite Nanocrystals

The current energy transition presents many technological challenges, such as the development of highly stable catalysts. Herein, we report a novel “top-down” synthesis approach for preparation of a single-site Mo-containing nanosized ZSM-5 zeolite which has atomically dispersed framework-molybdenum homogenously distributed through the zeolite crystals. The introduction of Mo heals most of the native point defects in the zeolite structure resulting in an extremely stable material. The important features of this single-site Mo-containing ZSM-5 zeolite are provided by an in-depth spectroscopic and microscopic analysis. The material demonstrates superior thermal (up to 1000 °C), hydrothermal (steaming), and catalytic (converting methane to hydrogen and higher hydrocarbons) stability, maintaining the atomically disperse Mo, structural integrity of the zeolite, and preventing the formation of silanols.     

[4]Cyclo-N-ethyl-2,7-carbazole: Synthesis,Structural, Electronic and Charge Transport Properties

Nanorings, which are macrocycles possessing radially directed π-orbitals have shown fantastic development in the last ten years. Unravelling their unusual electronic properties has been one of the driving forces of this research field. However, and despite promising properties, their incorporation in organic electronic devices remains very scarce. In this work, we aim to contribute to bridge the gap between organic electronics and nanorings by reporting the synthesis, the structural and electronic properties and the incorporation in an organic field-effect transistor (OFET) of a cyclic tetracarbazole, namely [4]cyclo-N-ethyl-2,7-carbazole ( [4]C-Et-Cbz ). The structural, photophysical and electrochemical properties have been compared to those of structurally related analogues [4]cyclo-9,9-diethyl-2,7-fluorene [4]C-diEt-F (with carbon bridges) and [8]-cycloparaphenylene [8]CPP (without any bridge) in order to shed light on the impact of the bridging in nanorings. This work shows that nanorings can be used as an active layer in an OFET and provides a first benchmark in term of OFET characteristics for this type of molecules.     

Temperature dependence of the A2 vibration modes in α-quartz

The infrared lattice bands which correspond to the A₂ modes of α-quartz, are analyzed by means of the classical oscillator model. The observed dependence of the classical parameters on temperature allows to think that non-linear effects occur by approaching the α→β phase transition.     

Sorption Mechanisms of Eu(3+) on CSH Phases of Hydrated Cements

The sorption mechanisms of Eu(3+) on calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) phases of hydrated cement were investigated as a tool for the prediction of the behavior of trivalent radionuclides with aged/degraded cements in radioactive waste repositories. Four techniques were used: site-selective and time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy, XPS, high-resolution SEM coupled with EDX, and XRD. Results showed that europium is not precipitated in the solution despite its low solubility limit. It is strongly retained on CSH, resulting in a more than 99.8% sorption rate. Two main sorption sites were characterized by luminescence spectroscopy. One site, with a long lifetime, can be interpreted as Eu included in the framework of CSH. Another one, with a shorter lifetime, can be interpreted as a site with a hydrated environment that is high but is less than that of europium hydroxide. It corresponds to superficial complexation or precipitation. Copyright 2001 Academic Press.
