We report here a new family of isoreticular MOFs, comprising three larger analogues of the nanoporous metallocarboxylate MIL-88; these solids were synthesized using a controlled SBU approach and the three crystal structures were solved using an original simulation-assisted structure determination method in direct space.  相似文献

We prepared samples of cubic γ-MoNx (x∼0.5) by high-pressure-high-temperature synthesis. N atom site occupancies within the defect rock salt structure were determined from time-of-flight neutron diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction data by Rietveld analysis. The results show that N atoms occupy only octahedral sites within the structure. The semi-metallic compound is a superconductor, with determined by SQUID magnetometry. The compressibility of the material was determined by synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurements at high pressure in the diamond anvil cell. The vibrational density of states was studied by Raman scattering spectroscopy.  相似文献

Using an ab initio strategy accounting for the basis set superposition error and electron-correlation effects, we have investigated the stepwise hydration of the proline cation. Structures with 0-3 surrounding water molecules have been obtained, and major differences with respect to protonated glycine are highlighted. Several structures with similar energies actually coexist at each step, and we give indications that should help removing experimental doubts. The theoretical enthalpies and entropies meet the experimental observations, though the computed entropic changes when adding the third water molecule are overestimated.  相似文献

The C60H28 buckycatcher (BC) is an excellent host for fullerenes. This receptor features two corannulene pincers which trap C60/C70 via π stacking interactions. Although, the formation of C60@C60H28 complexes is readily observed, the dimerization of C60H28 is not a competitive process, even at high concentrations. By means of first principle calculations, we have studied the thermodynamics of the polymerization of BCs and the formation of fullerene complexes. The results obtained with the M06‐2X, B97‐D, B3LYP‐D3BJ, PBE‐D2, and PBE‐D3 functionals indicated that the interaction energy of (C60H28)2 is larger than the one computed for C60@C60H28, by 8–10 kcal/mol. Because of the greater number of atoms, and due to the presence of more hydrogens, the inclusion of free energy corrections lowers the energetic separation between (C60H28)2 and C60@C60H28, even though the dimer maintains its position as being slightly more bound than that of the C60@C60H28. Our calculations indicated that up to the C60H28 trimer could be formed with a free energy change larger than that corresponding to the dimerization and fullerene complexation processes. Finally, we found that the inversion of the corannulene pincers attached to the cyclooctatetraene core is 2–3 kcal/mol lower than that corresponding to free corannulene. We expect that this work can motivate new investigations that may lead to the observation of C60H28 polymers. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The C‐nucleoside based on the hydroxyquinoline ligand (Hq) is complementary to itself and forms stable Hq–Hq pairs in double‐stranded DNA. These artificial Hq–Hq pairs may serve as artificial electron carriers for long‐range photoinduced electron transfer in DNA, as elucidated by a combination of gel electrophoretic analysis of irradiated samples and time‐resolved transient absorption spectroscopy. For this study, the Hq–Hq pair was combined with a DNA‐based donor–acceptor system consisting of 6‐N,N‐dimethylaminopyrene conjugated to 2′‐deoxyuridine as photoinducible electron donor, and methyl viologen attached to the 2′‐position of uridine as electron acceptor. The Hq radical anion was identified in the time‐resolved measurements and strand cleavage products support its role as an intermediate charge carrier. Hence, the Hq–Hq pair significantly enhances the electron hopping capability of DNA compared to natural DNA bases over long distances while keeping the self‐assembly properties as the most attractive feature of DNA as a supramolecular architecture.  相似文献

Using the long-range corrected (LC) density functional theory (DFT) scheme introduced by Iikura et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 115, 3540 (2001)] and the Coulomb-attenuating model (CAM-B3LYP) of Yanai et al. [Chem. Phys. Lett. 393, 51 (2004)], we have calculated the longitudinal dipole moments and static electronic first hyperpolarizabilities of increasingly long polymehtineimine oligomers. For comparison purposes Hartree-Fock (HF), Moller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2), and conventional pure and hybrid functionals have been considered as well. HF, generalized gradient approximation (GGA), and conventional hybrids provide too large dipole moments for long oligomers, while LC-DFT allows to reduce the discrepancy with respect to MP2 by a factor of 3. For the first hyperpolarizability, the incorrect evolution with the chain length predicted by HF is strongly worsened by BLYP, Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof (PBE), and also by B3LYP and PBE0. On the reverse, LC-BLYP and LC-PBE hyperpolarizabilities are correctly predicted to be positive (but for the two smallest chains). Indeed, for medium and long oligomers LC hyperpolarizabilities are slightly smaller than MP2 hyperpolarizabilities, as it should be. CAM-B3LYP also strongly improves the B3LYP results, though a bit less impressively for small chain lengths. The present study demonstrates the efficiency of long-range DFT, even in very pathological cases.  相似文献

The Wang-Landau sampling is a powerful method that allows for a direct determination of the density of states. However, applications to the calculation of the thermodynamic properties of realistic fluids have been limited so far. By combining the Wang-Landau method with expanded grand-canonical simulations, we obtain a high-accuracy estimate for the grand-canonical partition function for atomic and molecular fluids. Then, using the formalism of statistical thermodynamics, we are able to calculate the thermodynamic properties of these systems, for a wide range of conditions spanning the single-phase regions as well as the vapor-liquid phase boundary. Excellent agreement with prior simulation work and with the available experimental data is obtained for argon and CO(2), thereby establishing the accuracy of the method for the calculation of thermodynamic properties such as free energies and entropies.  相似文献

The chalcogenido indates K6In2Q6 (Q = S, Se, Te) were synthesized from melts of the pure elements at a maximum temperature of 700 °C. All three potassium salts contain dinuclear units [In2Q6]6– of two edge-sharing [InQ4] tetrahedra. The sulfido and the selenido indate are isotypic and crystallize in the K6Mn2O6-type structure [monoclinic, space group P21/c, a = 784.32(9)/809.32(3), b = 1274.58(14)/1322.37(4), c = 836.48(9)/870.53(3) pm, β = 97.900(2)/97.5877(8)°, Z = 2, R1 = 0.0123/0.0109; for Q = S/Se]. The tellurido indate K6In2Te6 crystallizes in a new orthorhombic structure type [space group Pnma, a = 1793.70(12), b = 1491.55(11), c = 837.40(6) pm, Z = 4, R1 = 0.0157]. In this structure, the telluride anions form a hexagonal close packing, in which K+ cations occupy all octahedral voids; the In3+ ions take 1/6 (but always adjacent) tetrahedral voids. This structure-chemical relation to the h.c.p. packing, which is similarly found for most of the sodium dimetallates (e.g. Na6Fe2S6), is substantiated by a full crystallographic group-subgroup tree. The crystal chemistry of the new indates is discussed and compared with that of alkali chalcogenido metallates(III) of Fe, Al and Ga containing [M2Q6]6– dimers, which overall form as many as ten different structure types. DFT band structure calculations of the three title compounds exhibit bandgaps, which continuously decrease from the S to the Te compound and which are also in accordance with the pale yellow (S), bright yellow (Se) and red-brown (Te) color of the compounds. The chemical bonding in the salts and within the metallate anion is discussed on the basis of the partial DOS and a Bader analysis of the calculated electron density.  相似文献

Burn patients are at high risk of invasive fungal infections, which are a leading cause of morbidity, mortality, and related expense exacerbated by the emergence of drug resistant fungal strains. In this study, we investigated the use of UVC light (254 nm) for the treatment of yeast Candida albicans infection in mouse third degree burns. In vitro studies demonstrated that UVC could selectively kill the pathogenic C. albicans compared with a normal mouse keratinocyte cell line in a light exposure dependent manner. A mouse model of chronic C. albicans infection in non-lethal third degree burns was developed. The C. albicans strain was stably transformed with a version of the Gaussia princeps luciferase gene that allowed real-time bioluminescence imaging of the progression of C. albicans infection. UVC treatment with a single exposure carried out on day 0 (30 min postinfection) gave an average 2.16-log(10)-unit (99.2%) loss of fungal luminescence when 2.92 J cm(-2) UVC had been delivered, while UVC 24 h postinfection gave 1.94-log(10)-unit (95.8%) reduction of fungal luminescence after 6.48 J cm(-2). Statistical analysis demonstrated that UVC treatment carried out on both day 0 and day 1 significantly reduced the fungal bioburden of infected burns. UVC was found to be superior to a topical antifungal drug, nystatin cream. UVC was tested on normal mouse skin and no gross damage was observed 24 h after 6.48 J cm(-2). DNA lesions (cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers) were observed by immunofluorescence in normal mouse skin immediately after a 6.48 J cm(-2) UVC exposure, but the lesions were extensively repaired at 24 h after UVC exposure.  相似文献
