The synthesis of redox‐active p‐ and o‐quinones 2‐phenylamino‐4‐phenylimino[6]helicene‐1‐one 1 , 2‐phenylamino[6]‐helicene‐1,4‐dione 2 , and 4‐phenyl[6]helicene‐1,2‐dione 3 in their enantiopure forms by post‐functionalization of (P)‐ and (M)‐1,2‐dimethoxy[6]helicene is presented. Structural characterization in solution and in the solid state was accomplished by 2D NMR spectroscopy methods and X‐ray diffraction analysis, respectively. Interpretation of electrochemical redox data was accompanied by a detailed orbital picture, derived from DFT calculations. The electronic structures of compounds 1 – 3 were investigated by UV/Vis and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectroscopy, complemented by TD‐DFT calculations. Quinones 1 – 3 were chemically reduced to study the EPR signatures of their respective radical anions. DFT methods were used for the atom assignment of the hyperfine coupling constants. The results are discussed within the context of electrochromic chiral switches and molecular recognition.  相似文献

Reactions of [Rh(κ2O,O‐acac)(PMe3)2] (acac=acetylacetonato) and α,ω‐bis(arylbutadiynyl)alkanes afford two isomeric types of MC4 metallacycles with very different photophysical properties. As a result of a [2+2] reductive coupling at Rh, 2,5‐bis(arylethynyl)rhodacyclopentadienes ( A ) are formed, which display intense fluorescence (Φ=0.07–0.54, τ=0.2–2.5 ns) despite the presence of the heavy metal atom. Rhodium biphenyl complexes ( B ), which show exceptionally long‐lived (hundreds of μs) phosphorescence (Φ=0.01–0.33) at room temperature in solution, have been isolated as a second isomer originating from an unusual [4+2] cycloaddition reaction and a subsequent β‐H‐shift. We attribute the different photophysical properties of isomers A and B to a higher excited state density and a less stabilized T1 state in the biphenyl complexes B , allowing for more efficient intersystem crossing S1→Tn and T1→S0. Control of the isomer distribution is achieved by modification of the bis‐ (diyne) linker length, providing a fundamentally new route to access photoactive metal biphenyl compounds.  相似文献

A method based on separation by capillary electrophoresis combined with UV-laser-induced fluorescence detection (Lambdaex = 266 nm) was developed for the determination of nine tryptamine derivatives of forensic interest and potential matrix constituents. The composition of the separation electrolyte was optimized with respect to the resolution of solutes of interest and to the sensitivity of fluorescence detection. Native alpha-cyclodextrin was employed as a complex forming modifier of the electrophoretic separation and fluorescence-enhancing agent. With the help of a stacking procedure, limits of detection of 0.1-6 microg/L for all analytes were obtained. The repeatability for the peak area (at a concentration of the analyte about 100 times the LOD) was less than 2.3% RSD. A second HPLC method was developed, and its analytical parameters were evaluated for an estimation of the accuracy of the CE-LIF method and for method comparison. The results of the determination of tryptamine derivatives in the samples of forensic interest obtained with the two independent methods are in good agreement.  相似文献

Conductive macroporous composite chitosan-carbon nanotube scaffolds   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were used as doping material for three-dimensional chitosan scaffolds to develop a highly conductive, porous, and biocompatible composite material. The porous and interconnected structures were formed by the process of thermally induced phase separation followed by freeze-drying applied to an aqueous solution of 1 wt % chitosan acetic acid. The porosity was characterized to be 97% by both mercury intrusion porosimetry measurements and SEM image analysis. When MWCNTs were used as a filler to introduce conductive pathways throughout the chitosan skeleton, the solubilizing hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties of chitosan established stable polymer/MWCNT solutions that yielded a homogeneous distribution of nanotubes throughout the final composite matrix. A percolation theory threshold of approximately 2.5 wt % MWCNTs was determined by measurement of the conductivity as a function of chitosan/MWCNT ratios. The powder resistivity of completely compressed scaffolds also was measured and was found to be similar for all MWCNT concentrations (0.7-0.15 Omega cm powder resistivity for MWCNTs of 0.8-5 wt %) and almost five times lower than the 20 k Omega cm value found for pure chitosan scaffolds.  相似文献

Experimental and DFT-based computational results on the aziridination mechanism and the catalytic activity of (bispidine)copper(I) and -copper(II) complexes are reported and discussed (bispidine=tetra- or pentadentate 3,7-diazabicyclo[3.1.1]nonane derivative with two or three aromatic N donors in addition to the two tertiary amines). There is a correlation between the redox potential of the copper(II/I) couple and the activity of the catalyst. The most active catalyst studied, which has the most positive redox potential among all (bispidine)copper(II) complexes, performs 180 turnovers in 30 min. A detailed hybrid density functional theory (DFT) study provides insight into the structure, spin state, and stability of reactive intermediates and transition states, the oxidation state of the copper center, and the denticity of the nitrene source. Among the possible pathways for the formation of the aziridine product, the stepwise formation of the two N-C bonds is shown to be preferred, which also follows from experimental results. Although the triplet state of the catalytically active copper nitrene is lowest in energy, the two possible spin states of the radical intermediate are practically degenerate, and there is a spin crossover at this stage because the triplet energy barrier to the singlet product is exceedingly high.  相似文献

The detection of toxic gases, such as NH3 and CO, in the environment is of high interest in chemical, electronic, and automotive industry as even small amounts can display a health risk for workers. Sensors for the real‐time monitoring of these gases should be simple, robust, reversible, highly sensitive, inexpensive and show a fast response. The indicator supraparticles presented herein can fulfill all of these requirements. They consist of silica nanoparticles, which are assembled to supraparticles upon spray‐drying. Sensing molecules such as Reichardt's dye and a binuclear rhodium complex are loaded onto the microparticles to target NH3 and CO detection, respectively. The spray‐drying technique affords high flexibility in primary nanoparticle size selection and thus, easy adjustment of the porosity and specific surface area of the obtained micrometer‐sized supraparticles. This ultimately enables the fine‐tuning of the sensor sensitivity and response. For the application of the indicator supraparticles in a gas detection device, they can be immobilized on a coating. Due to their microscale size, they are large enough to poke out of thin coating layers, thus guaranteeing their gas accessibility, while being small enough to be applicable to flexible substrates.  相似文献
