Summary The relatively high concentrations of lead and cadmium in feather vanes and the morphological structure of the feather makes it possible to use Zeeman Solid Sampling AAS as an ideal method for analysing microsamples of defined parts of the feather vane. In different feathers of different bird species there is an increase of lead and cadmium concentrations in more exposed parts of the feather vane. These results also confirm that the lead and cadmium burden of feathers predominantly depends on the exogenous deposition of heavy metals from the atmosphere on the surface of bird's feathers.  相似文献

To achieve a better understanding why thermophilic and hyperthermophilic organisms use tungsten instead of molybdenum within the active sites of their molybdopterin dependent oxidases, electrochemical investigations of model complexes for the active sites of enzymes belonging to the DMSO reductase (molybdenum) and the aldehyde oxidoreductase (tungsten) family have been undertaken. Cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry of four pairs of molybdenum and tungsten oxobisdithiolene compounds show huge differences in the response of their redox potentials to rising or decreasing temperatures, depending on the substituents at the dithiolene group. The mnt2- compounds (1a, 1b) respond with decreasing redox potentials E(1/2) to rising temperatures whereas all other compounds show positive gradients deltaE/deltaT. In every case the values for the gradients for the tungsten compounds are greater than those for the molybdenum compounds. Six of the investigated compounds are known in the literature and two compounds were newly synthesized. These two new compounds include the pyrane subunit of the native molybdopterin ligand and should therefore be even better models for the active site of the molybdopterin containing enzymes. The molybdenum/tungsten pair with these new ligands shows a remarkably small difference for the redox potentials of the transition M(IV) <--> M(V) of only 30 mV at 25 degrees C and the reversion of the usual order with higher potentials for the molybdenum than the tungsten compound at a temperature of 70 degrees C; a temperature that is in the range where usually tungsten containing enzymes instead of molybdenum containing ones are found.  相似文献

Standard chemistry prescribes the conversion of one or two compounds into their products. In contrast, Eintopf (one-pot) multicomponent reactions (MCRs) involve at least three different compounds. One-pot MCRs are a useful tool in combinatorial chemistry: From a mixture of educts a large number of products can be simultaneously formed in liquid phase, called a soluble molecular library. The member compounds of such libraries are investigated simultaneously for desired properties, e.g. antibiotic activity. The main constraint is, that the underlying chemistry must not produce unknown side reactions and must lead to a broad spectrum of stable products with high yields. Isocyanide multicomponent chemistry allows the generation of soluble libraries of very different sizes, which are easy to screen for biological or pharmaceutical efficacy using the algorithms presented. Products can easily be enumerated and the kinetics of the isocyanide chemistry is simple to investigate. Combinatorial chemistry is capable of generating and optimizing leads faster and with fewer resources than by conventional means. Combinatorial chemistry based on isocyanide chemistry is by far the most important and most impressive technique in use today to reducing time and costs associated with lead generation and optimization during the drug discovery process. The simplicity of the reaction conditions involved means that the generation and screening of libraries can be automated.  相似文献

Identification and quantification of microplastics (MP) in environmental samples is crucial for understanding the risk and distribution of MP in the environment. Currently, quantification of MP particles in environmental samples and the comparability of different matrices is a major research topic. Research also focusses on sample preparation, since environmental samples must be free of inorganic and organic matrix components for the MP analysis. Therefore, we would like to propose a new method that allows the comparison of the results of MP analysis from different environmental matrices and gives a MP concentration in mass of MP particles per gram of environmental sample. This is possible by developing and validating an optimized and consistent sample preparation scheme for quantitative analysis of MP particles in environmental model samples in conjunction with quantitative 1H-NMR spectroscopy (qNMR). We evaluated for the first time the effects of different environmental matrices on identification and quantification of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers using the qNMR method. Furthermore, high recovery rates were obtained from spiked environmental model samples (without matrix ~ 90%, sediment ~ 97%, freshwater ~ 94%, aquatic biofilm ~ 95%, and invertebrate matrix ~ 72%), demonstrating the high analytical potential of the method.

The focus of our investigation lies on the separation of typically broadly distributed hyperbranched poly(ether amide)s into narrow fractions of various molar masses. Their exact molar mass found via size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) with light uttering detection allows us to use these fractions for sample specific calibration in the SEC investigation of other hyperbranched samples. The analysis of the degree of branching, molar mass and viscosity behavior of the fractions gives a first indication about their molecular shape and the contribution of that shape to the overall viscosity. We determined the Mark-Houwink exponent for a hyperbranched sample using a number of narrow fractions which showed that an increase of molar mass leads to an increased molecular density.  相似文献

Summary The far-i.r. spectra of the title complexes have been examined. Band assignments are based on the shifts induced by ligand deuteration and halide substitution. Deuteration of bipyridine causes large shifts ( >10 cm–1) in internal ligand modes, intermediate shifts between 2 and 9 cm–1) in metal-nitrogen stretching and bending modes and small to zero shifts in metal-halide stretching and bending vibrations. Generally, the requirements for square planarC 2v synanetry [two (M–N) and two (M–X) bands] are observed. Previous ambiguities in the assignment of the (M–N) bands have been resolved by the isotopic labelling technique employed in this study.  相似文献

A synthesis of novel 3-deoxy analogs of the anti-HBV agent entecavir (BMS-200475) was devised using regioselective ring opening of suitable cyclopentene epoxides as the key step.
