The Transition Rapidly exploring Random Eigenvector Assisted Tree (TRREAT) algorithm is introduced to perform searches along low curvature pathways on a potential energy surface (PES). The method combines local curvature information about the PES with an iterative Rapidly exploring Random Tree algorithm (LaValle, Computer Science Department, Iowa State University, 1998, TR98–11) that quickly searches high‐dimensional spaces for feasible pathways between local minima. Herein, the method is applied to identifying conformational changes of molecular systems using Cartesian coordinates while avoiding a priori definition of collective variables. We analyze the pathway identification problem for alanine dipeptide, cyclohexane and glycine using nonreactive and reactive forcefields. We show how TRREAT‐identified pathways can be used as valuable input guesses for double‐ended methods such as the Nudged Elastic Band when ascertaining transition state energies. This method can be utilized to improve/extend the reaction databases that lie at the core of automatic chemical reaction mechanism generator software currently developed to build kinetic models of chemical reactions. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 相似文献

The adsorption of metal ions at the stearic acid/electrolyte and nnonadccane-stearic acid mixture/electrolyte interface was investigated by means of the potentiometric titration, zeta potential and adsorption measurements. It was found that the studied colloidal suspensions exhibited an adsorption affinity towards multivalent metal ions. The adsorption of Ca2+, Cd2+ and Al3+ ions caused a strong decrease of surface charge density and zeta potential values in this systems. The adsorption reactions occur by way of cation exchange with protons from two surface carboxyl groups. Al high metal concentrations, in adsorption reactions there are involved also carboxyl groups from the subsurface layer. On the basis of the adsorption data, the cation surface complexation constants were calculated by Shindler's method. 相似文献

In this article, we obtained equations that permit us to calculate the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value of polyoxyethylene esters from quality control data of the raw materials (fatty acids and polyethylene glycol) and the finished product (surfactant). These data include the acid value of the fatty acid, the hydroxyl value of the polyethylene glycol, and the hydroxyl value of the surfactant. These calculations permit us, moreover, to know the mean molecular masses of fatty acids, of polyethylene glycol, of monoester and diester, and the proportion of polyoxyethylene monoester and polyoxyethylene diester. 相似文献

Nuclear magnetic resonance and the Overhauser effect type dynamic nuclear polarization experiments were performed to study suspensions of asphaltene in the xylene isomers at a low magnetic field of 1.44 mT at room temperature. Intermolecular spin-spin interactions occur between nuclear spins of hydrogen in the solvent medium and the free electron spins in the asphaltene micelles. The samples were prepared in three different asphaltene concentrations at vacuum. The samples were waited for four years and dynamic nuclear polarization parameters were found via dynamic nuclear polarization experiments performed again. Thus, it was investigated the effect of sample age to dynamic nuclear polarization parameters. In addition, the medium concentrations of each sample were exposed to radiation for 48 hours and neutron radiation effects to the dynamic nuclear polarization parameters were investigated. The results of a study about Majolica ceramics recovered from three sites located in Mexico City are here presented. The set of 83 samples includes several local ceramic-types dating from the Colonial Period, the nineteenth century and the present day, plus some foreign specimens and clay samples from the Puebla area. Fourteen chemical elements present in the samples were analyzed and measured by means of neutron activation, and statistically the following groups were established: two groups that were presumably manufactured in Mexico City, two from Puebla, one from outside the Mexican boundaries, most probably Sevilla-Triana pottery, plus three more groups from unidentified origins. It was also found out that botijas were both imported and produced domestically. These results are discussed against the relevant literature on known provenance, chronology and manufacture standards of this kind of pottery. 相似文献

The modulation of 7Be-aerosols concentration due to solar activity during the cycle 23 is studied in the present research. For that purpose, was analyzed the differences in the long-term variation of geomagnetic and solar activity to assess the physical effects over the evolution of 7Be during the period 1996–2010. Furthermore, exploratory data analysis was applied to understand better the behavior of 7Be-aerosols in the surface atmosphere. This study shows that there is an inverse relationship among 7Be measured in the near ground air and solar activity. The modulation of 7Be-aerosols during the cycle 23 was divided in two steps. In the first stage, ascending phase, 1996–2002, the solar activity played an important role in the production rate of 7Be, r = ?0.75. However, during the descending phase, 2002–2009, the role of the solar activity was secondary, r = ?0.30, allowing that 7Be-aerosols reached the maximum concentration, 9.33 mBq m?3 in August-09 when the solar activity was zero. Moreover, the remaining solar activity after the end of the ascending phase and the last important solar storm (December-06) caused the slowdown of 7Be production rate from 2001 to 2004 and the rupture of the seasonal behavior of 7Be in 2007, respectively. Finally, this research highlight the necessity to take into account the solar cycle phase, ascending or descending, to model studies of atmospheric process with 7Be as tracer since the contribution of the variables studied are so different in these stages. 相似文献

The standard deviations and Shannon information entropies of the probability densities for a particle in a quantum corral are compared and contrasted to determine their effectiveness in measuring particle (de)localization. We illustrate how the two measures emphasize different aspects of the underlying distributions which can lead to inconsistent interpretations. Among these, we show that the Shannon entropy is able to distinguish between the presence of an attractive or repulsive effective potential in the radial Schrödinger equation while the standard deviation does not. The analysis of this radial model is then extended to momentum space where the dependence of the measures, entropic sum and uncertainty product on the effective potential, is examined. 相似文献

Two new homologous series of chiral esters derived from Schiff's bases containing a 1,3,4‐thiadiazole unit (series 6 and 7) were synthesized and their liquid crystalline and ferroelectric properties investigated. A series of linear oligo (p-phenylene)s containing three, five and seven phenylene groups, modified with short lateral and long terminal alkoxy chains, were synthesized via Palladium complex-catalysed cross-coupling reactions. The thermotropic liquid crystalline and UV absorption/emission properties of these compounds were studied. It was observed that tri (p -phenylene)s develop a rich mesomorphism including tilted smectic type mesophases (SmC and SmF/SmI) and the nematic phase, whereas penta- and hepta-(p-phenylene)s substituted with short lateral chains develop only the nematic phase. From these observations it is clear that the short lateral chains hinder the layered molecular packing typical of smectic phases and promote the formation of the less ordered liquid-like nematic phase. Mesophases appeared at lower temperatures when longer end chains were used. The optical properties studied by UV-Vis and emission spectroscopy indicate that these systems are promising candidates for blue-emitting layers in electroluminescent devices. 相似文献

This work reports the use of matrices containing Cratylia mollis lectins (Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose and Cramoll 3-Sepharose) for isolation of glycoproteins from fetal bovine serum, human colostrum, hen egg white, and human blood plasma. Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose was able to bind a glycoprotein from fetal bovine serum which showed the same fetuin electrophoretic profile. The data indicate that this protein adsorbed to the matrix by interaction with Cramoll 3. Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose was not efficient to retain glycoproteins from human colostrum or commercial ovalbumin. Cramoll 3-Sepharose bound ovalbumin, and the support retained protein from hen egg white. Protein peaks eluted from the column with 1.0 M NaCl or 0.3 M galactose showed apparent molecular mass of ovalbumin. Two main proteins from blood plasma with apparent molecular mass 67 (similar to albumin) and 50 kDa (similar to fetuin) adsorbed on Cramoll 3-Sepharose and were eluted with 1.0 M NaCl as a single peak. Elution of adsorbed plasma proteins with 0.3 M galactose was less selective than with 1.0 M NaCl as revealed by SDS-PAGE. In conclusion, the Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose and Cramoll 3-Sepharose matrices were useful to separate glycoproteins from complex protein mixtures, and the adsorption phenomena was a carbohydrate-dependent event. 相似文献
