In this paper we report the results of a morphological and structural investigation on film properties of a soluble polydiacetylene, the poly[1,6-bis(3,6-dihexadecyl-N-carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadiyne] (polyDCHD-HS). The red films of this polymer, prepared by standard spin-coating techniques, revealed absence of linear dichroism and birefringence in contrast with the ordered mesophases detected by powder X-ray studies. In order to interpret the optical behavior of this polymer, we performed AFM and SEM studies of polyDCHD-HS films spun on hydrophylic and hydrophobic glass substrates. We found the presence of surfaces organized in rod-like particles, more regularly oriented on the hydrophylic substrate. GIXRD studies, carried out on films sufficiently thick to allow the observation of the diffraction pattern, reveled the presence of a lamellar structure with a spacing of 3.22 nm. The low intensity of the diffraction peaks and the isotropic linear optical properties of the films show that the lamellar mesophases are not extended over large areas. These findings were compared with the data obtained from AFM and SEM studies on films of two other polydiacetylenes, the poly[1-(3,6-dihexadexyl-N-carbazolyl)-6-(N-carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadyine] (polya-DCHD) and the poly[1,6-bis(3,6-dipalmitoyl-N-carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadyine] (polyDPCHD), spun on hydrophylic glass substrate. The results confirmed the presence of nodular morphologies which seem to be a general characteristic of this class of materials. The particles organization appears instead related to the chemical nature of the substituents on the carbazolyl rings.  相似文献

Substrate relaxation is shown to play an important role in the 1 : 2 regular chemisorption of hydrogen atoms above alternate carbon atoms in a graphite monolayer. Binding energy, population analysis and electron density maps show that the direct HC bond is strengthened on relaxation.  相似文献

Enantiomeric separation of some selected acidic compounds of pharmaceutical interest belonging to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs were separated by capillary electrochromatography employing silica based glycopeptide antibiotic stationary phases, namely vancomycin or a teicoplanin derivatives (Hepta-Tyr). The vancomycin stationary phase allowed to achieve the chiral resolution of some racemic studied compounds only using mobile phases containing ammonium formate at a relatively low pH 2.5-3.5 and acetonitrile. Employing the teicoplanin derivative stationary phase, good enantiomeric resolution was achieved eluting with mobile phases containing sodium phosphate pH 6-acetonitrile. Enantiomers were moved to the detector because a relatively high reversed electroosmotic flow (due to the positive charge of the stationary phase) and to the electrophoretic mobility of analytes.  相似文献

The conformational change of the 39-43 residues of the amyloid beta-peptide (Abeta) toward a beta-sheet enriched state promotes self-aggregation of the peptide molecules and constitutes the major peptide component of the amyloid plaques in Alzheimer patients. The crucial question behind the self-aggregation of Abeta is related to the different pathways the peptide may take after cleavage from the amyloid precursor proteins at cellular membranes. This work is aiming at determining the conformation of the Abeta (1-40) adsorbed on hydrophobic Teflon and hydrophilic silica particles, as model sorbent surfaces mimicking the apolar transmembrane environment and the polar, charged membrane surface, respectively. The mechanism by which the Abeta interacts with solid surfaces strongly depends on the hydrophobic/hydrophilic character of the particles. Hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions contribute differently in each case, causing a completely different conformational change of the adsorbed molecules on the two surfaces. When hydrophobic interactions between the peptide and the sorbent prevail, the adsorbed Abeta (1-40) mainly adopts an alpha-helix conformation due to H-bonding in the apolar part of the peptide that is oriented towards the surface. On the other hand, when the peptide adsorbs by electrostatic interactions beta-sheet formation is promoted due to intermolecular association between the apolar parts of the adsorbed peptide. Irrespective of the characteristics of the solid sorbent, crowding the surface results in intermolecular association between adsorbed molecules leading to a strong aggregation tendency of the Abeta (1-40). As is well known ammunitions containing depleted uranium (DU) were used by NATO during the Balkan war. The paper deals with the determination of uranium alpha emitting radiosotopes in Kosovo soils by chemical separation and alpha spectrometry. The samples were collected by CISAM (Centro Interforze Studi ed Applicazioni Militari, S. Piero a Grado, Livorno) in the period November 1999-April 2000. The DU distribution in soil appeared very disomogeneous; the isotope weight percentages for U-238, U-235 and U-234 resulted 99.76, 0.24 and 7.24.10(-4) respectively; consequently the activity distribution was 86.42%, 1.31%, 11.63% and the isotope ratios were 1.52.10(-2) and 0.134 for U-235/U-238 and U-234/U-238 showing clearly the presence of DU. A small peak at 4.49 MeV (U-236) in the alpha spectrum indicated that the used DU was the by-product of exhausted uranium reprocessing. In order to determine the chemical and physiological solubility of uranium a fractionation study was carried out by using the Tessier method: 55% of uranium showed a fair solubility, but 45% was solubilized only by 8 M HNO3.  相似文献

On the basis of semiempirical calculations, the conformation of the isolated molecule of 2-bromo-1,1-diphenylprop-1-ene corresponding to the minimum of total energy was determined. Assuming some information on the localization of the molecules in the crystal, also the conformation in a theoretical crystal was studied. The results have been compared with the crystal structure of 2-bromo-1,1-diphenylprop-1-ene, as obtained by X-ray diffraction. From the comparison a slight displacement of the C2 atom was suggested.
Zusammenfassung Die dem Minimum der Gesamtenergie entsprechende Konformation des isolierten Moleküls von 2-Brom-1,1-diphenylprop-1-en wurde durch halb-empirische Methoden bestimmt. Gewisse Ergebnisse über die Anordnung der Moleküle im Kristall machten es möglich, die Konformation in einem theoretischen Kristall zu untersuchen. Nach Vergleich der Resultate mit der durch Röntgen-Analyse bestimmten Kristallstruktur des 2-Brom-1,1-diphenylprop-1-en wurde eine kleine Verschiebung des C2-Atoms vorgeschlagen.

Résumé Par le moyen de calculs semiempiriques on a déterminé la conformation de la molécule isolée de 2-bromo-1, 1-diphénilprop-1-ène, correspondant au minimum d'énergie totale. On a aussi étudié la conformation dans le cristal théorique en se basant sur des informations concernant la localisation des molécules dans le cristal. On a comparé ces résultats avec ceux que nous avons obtenus par la détermination de la structure cristalline du 2-bromo-1, 1-diphénilprop-1-ène avec la diffraction des rayons X: cette comparaison nous a porté à déplacer un petit peu l'atome C 2.

In the present study, a hydroxytyrosol-rich Olea europaea L. fruit extract (OFE) was added to three thoroughly green formulations—hydrogel, oleogel, and cream—in order to evaluate their antiviral activity against HSV-1. The extract was characterized by different analytical techniques, i.e., FT-IR, XPS, and TGA. HPLC analyses were carried out to monitor the content and release of hydroxytyrosol in the prepared formulations. The total polyphenol content and antioxidant activity were investigated through Folin–Ciocâlteu’s reagent, DPPH, and ABTS assays. The ability of the three formulations to convey active principles to the skin was evaluated using a Franz cell, showing that the number of permeated polyphenols in the hydrogel (272.1 ± 1.8 GAE/g) was significantly higher than those in the oleogel and cream (174 ± 10 and 179.6 ± 2 GAE/g, respectively), even if a negligible amount of hydroxytyrosol crossed the membrane for all the formulations. The cell viability assay indicated that the OFE and the three formulations were not toxic to cultured Vero cells. The antiviral activity tests highlighted that the OFE had a strong inhibitory effect against HSV-1 with a 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) at 25 µg/mL, interfering directly with the viral particles. Among the three formulations, the hydrogel exhibited the highest antiviral activity also against the acyclovir-resistant strain.  相似文献

This work allowed the identification of major transformation products (TPs) of acetamiprid (ACTM) during Fenton process. Acetamiprid is a chloronicotinoid insecticide widely used around the world for its characteristics (high insecticidal activity, good systemic properties, suitable field stability, etc.). The degradation of the parent molecule and the identification of the main TPs were evaluated in different water matrices (demineralized water and real agro-food industrial wastewater). TPs of acetamiprid generated by Fenton experiments were monitored and identified by liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (LC–QTOF–MS/MS). Up to 14 TPs were characterized based on the accurate mass of the molecular ion and fragment ions obtained in both full-scan and MS/MS modes. Most of them were eliminated after 75 min of treatment time in demineralized water. However, in real agro-food industrial wastewater, most of them were eliminated at 90 min of treatment time, demonstrating the influence of the matrix composition on the studied compound degradation.  相似文献
