Iridaea cordata cultivated in the presence of UVB radiation (UVBR) was studied using transmission electron microscopy. Apical segments were cultivated in 0.97 Wm?2 of UVBR for 40 days, 3 h a day, and compared to a negative control (UVBR absent). UVBR caused modifications, mainly in the cortical cells, including an increased number of cell wall-producing vesicles, in addition to thicker and denser cellular walls, compared to the control. Additionally, cells were observed with an irregular contour and without defined organelles. The increase of cell-wall thickness could be interpreted as an acclimation to UVBR, which could lead to protection from this radiation. 相似文献

The infrared optical properties of Er3+ ions are reported for 60GeO2–20PbO–20Na2O glass for two Er2O3 concentrations. From the optical absorption spectra, the Judd–Ofelt (J–O) parameters have been obtained and have been used
to calculate radiative lifetimes and stimulated emission cross sections. A narrow emission band peaked at 1536 nm with exponential
decay for both Er concentrations is observed. The measured lifetime decreases for increasing Er concentration, its value being
very close, in the case of the lowest doping level, to the radiative lifetime calculated from J–O analysis. This, together

A sample of 10 at% Fe-doped SnO2 powder was prepared by mechanical alloying and then thermally treated at 773 K in vacuum. The fit of the diffraction patterns and X-ray absorption spectroscopy measurements revealed that the as milled sample was pure doped rutile. Fe dissolved into SnO2 was found in Fe2+/Fe3+ ionic valence with mainly paramagnetic behavior. After the thermal treatment all techniques indicate the formation of the ternary Sn0.36Fe2.64O4 spinel phase, which is responsible for the observed ferromagnetism. 相似文献

We investigate the potential impact of forthcoming Jefferson Lab semi-inclusive polarized deep inelastic scattering proton
measurements in the determination of the sea quark polarization in the nucleons by means of a next to leading order global
QCD analysis. Specifically, we estimate the resulting improvement in the constraints on polarized parton densities for different
flavors, which is found to be significant for up and strange quarks, and the correlation between remaining uncertainty ranges

In this paper, we have performed a numerical investigation of the escape of a particle from two different dynamical systems with the same number of exit channels. We have chosen specific values of the parameters of the systems so that the openings of the potential well in both systems are approximately of the same size. We have found that, in the galactic system, the distribution of the times of escape follows a sequential pattern that has never been detected before. Moreover, we have proved that this pattern is directly related to the geometry of the stable manifolds to the Lyapunov orbits located at the openings of the potential. Finally, we have shown that the different nature of the two systems affects the way the escape occurs, due to the difference in the geometry of the manifolds to the Lyapunov orbits in both systems. 相似文献

Different molecular strategies have been carefully evaluated to produce solid-state luminescence enhancement (SLE) in compounds that show dark states in solution. A set of α-phenylstyrylarene derivatives with a butterfly shape have been designed and synthesised, for the first time, with the aim of improving the solid-state fluorescence emission of their parent styrylarene compounds. Although these butterfly molecules are not fluorescent in solution, one of them (1,2,4,5-tetra(α-phenylstyryl)benzene) exhibits a fluorescence quantum yield as high as 68 % in a drop-cast sample and 31 % in its crystalline form. In contrast, 1,3,5-tris(α-phenylstyryl)benzene and 4,6-bis(α-phenylstyryl)pyrimidine do not show SLE. A range of fluorescence spectroscopy experiments and DFT calculations were carried out to unravel the origin of different photophysical behaviour of these compounds in the solid state. The results indicate that a rational strategy to control the SLE effect in luminogens depends on a delicate balance between molecular properties and inter-/intramolecular interactions in the solid state. 相似文献
