The molecular structure of COBr2 has been determined as follows by an analysis of electron diffraction intensity: rg(CO) = 1.178 ± 0.009 Å, rg(C-Br) = 1.923 ± 0.005 Å and θ°α(Br-C-Br) = 112.3 ± 0.4°. The arterial input function (AIF) is important for quantitative MR imaging perfusion experiments employing Gd contrast agents. This study compared the accuracy of T(2)*-weighted magnitude and phase imaging for noninvasive measurement of the AIF in the rat aorta. Twenty-eight in vivo experiments were performed involving simultaneous arterial blood sampling and MR imaging following Gd injection. In vitro experiments were also performed to confirm the in vivo results. At 1.89 T and TE=3 ms, the relationship between changes in 1/T(2)* in blood (estimated from MR signal magnitude) and Gd concentration ([Gd]) was measured to be approximately 19 s(-1) mM(-1), while that between phase and [Gd] was approximately 0.19 rad mM(-1). Both of these values are consistent with previously published results. The in vivo phase data had approximately half as much scatter with respect to [Gd] than the in vivo magnitude data (r(2)=.34 vs. r(2)=.17, respectively). This is likely due to the fact that the estimated change in 1/T(2)* is more sensitive than the phase to a variety of factors such as partial volume effects and T(1) weighting. Therefore, this study indicates that phase imaging may be a preferred method for measuring the AIF in the rat aorta compared to T(2)*-weighted magnitude imaging. 相似文献

Rate coefficients were calculated for vibrational relaxation and collision-induced dissociation of ground state xenon fluoride in neon at temperatures between 300 and 1000 K for each of nine vibrational levels. These coefficients were calculated using a pairwise additive potential energy surface, which consists of a Morse function for the XeF interaction and Lennard–Jones functions for the NeXe and NeF interactions. Rate coefficients are provided for both temperature and v- dependences. The vibrational relaxation and dissociation processes occur by multiquanta transitions. Dissociation can take place from all v-levels provided that the internal energy of the XeF molecule is close to the rotationless dissociation limit. The order of increase effectiveness of the various forms of energy in promoting dissociation in XeF was found to be translation–rotation-vibration. At room temperature, neon atoms were found to be more efficient than helium atoms in the dissociation processes; helium atoms were found to be more efficient than neon atoms in the vibrational relaxation of XeF. Strong vibration–rotation coupling in both vibrational relaxation and in the dissociation processes is demonstrated. 相似文献

A study of the distribution of137Cs,90Sr, Pu and Am in potato tubers has been carried out. Cesium-137 was essentially uniformly distributed throughout the tuber, whereas up to about 50% of the90Sr activity was found in the peel. Results for actinides indicated that most of the activity would be found in the peel and of this more than half would be located in the thin outemost skin. When account is taken of the form in which potatoes are consumed in the UK, the values of soil-plant transfer factors currently assumed in the NRPB model FARMLAND are reasonable for general assessment purposes. 相似文献

The influence of the sample preparation parameters (the choice of the solvent and of the matrix:analyte ratio) was investigated and optimal conditions were established for MALDI mass spectrometry analysis of the pristine low molecular weight polyvinyl acetate (PVAc). It was demonstrated that comparison of polymer’s and solvent’s Hansen solubility parameters could be used as a guide when choosing the solvent for MALDI sample preparation. The highest intensity PVAc signals were obtained when ethyl acetate was used as a solvent along with the lowest matrix–analyte ratio (2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid was used as a matrix in all experiments). The structure of the PVAc was established with high accuracy using the matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-Fourier transform mass spectrometry (MALDI-FTMS) analysis. It was demonstrated that PVAc undergoes unimolecular decomposition by losing acetic acid molecules from its backbone under the conditions of FTMS measurements. Number and weight average molecular weights as well as polydispersity indices were determined with both MALDI-TOF and MALDI-FTMS methods. The sample preparation protocol developed was applied to the analysis of a chewing gum and the molecular weight and structure of the polyvinyl acetate present in the sample were established. Thus, it was shown that optimized MALDI mass spectrometry could be used successfully for characterization of polyvinyl acetate in commercially available chewing gum. 相似文献

Analysis of protein complexes is of increasing interest in the field of proteomics. A challenge is to develop methods for monitoring changes in the quantity and subunit composition of protein complexes on a proteome-wide scale. Here, we describe the combination of 1-D blue native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (BN-PAGE) with stable isotope labelling of amino acids in cell culture (SILAC) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). Cleared lysates from normal and perturbed samples, one incorporating heavy stable isotopes and the other light isotopes, are co-separated by blue native PAGE and then analysed and quantitated with MS/MS and appropriate software. This permits the analysis of cytoplasmic complexes. To demonstrate this technique, we explored how the 20S proteasome changes when the Pre9/α3 subunit, the only non-essential subunit of this complex, was deleted. Our results showed that ΔPre9/α3 cells can form the 20S proteasome complex, although with reduced efficiency. This involves an increase in expression of the α4 subunit. Our findings suggest this technique as an approach for the study of quantitative and qualitative differences in protein complexes, from cleared cell lysates. 相似文献
