Preparation and Evaluation of Molecularly Imprinted Monolithic Column for Felodipine in Micro-liquid Chromatography

This study concentrated on the production of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) as highly selective sorbents for felodipine (FLD), a representive dihydropyridine calcium antagonists. Demonstrated chromatographically through a selection factor, these MIPs showed high selectivity for the template molecule among a group of structurally similar compounds. The recognition was found to correlate with structural similarity to the template compound.     

The Self-catalytic Esterification Reaction of O-Phosphoryl Serine Derivative

O-Phosphoryl serine derivative can perform serf-catalytic esterification reaction in the mixture of CH3OH and CHCl3 at the room temperature. The phosphoryl group participation was the key step of the esterification. This type of reactions were proposed through an intermediate of mixed phosphoric-carboxylic anhydride that might provide a clue to the function of the phosphoryl group in the phosphorylated enzymes and in the prebiotic synthesis of protein.     

Synthesis, Characterization and the Effect of Glucose-lowering of Guanidino Acid Oxovanadium（Ⅳ） Complexes

Two guanidino acid oxovanadium(Ⅳ) complexes have been synthesized. Preliminary tests in vivo have shown that the two title complexes all display lowering glucose activity in vivo to STZ-rats. The effect of glucose-lowering of guanidino acetic acid oxovanadium(Ⅳ) complex in vivo is higher than that of guanidino propanoic acid oxovanadium(Ⅳ) complex.     

Supramolecular assemblies from single-chain hydrocarbon fluorocarbon hybrid bolaamphiphiles

Three types of single-chain hydrocarbon fluorocarbon hybrid bolaamphiphiles were synthesized.They readily formed different kinds of organized supramolecular assemblies,including vesicles,tapes,and micellar fibers,in aqueous solution.The aggregates morphology was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) after negative staining.The superstructures of these aggregates seemed to be determined by the geometry and the head group's properties of the corresponding amphiphiles.     

反应原料组成对单分散苯乙烯微球粒径及其分布的影响

采用分散聚合工艺制备微米级单分散聚苯乙烯微球，并对分散聚合反应的内部影响因素(分散稳定剂、助稳定剂、单体、引发剂)进行了研究．结果表明，随着分散稳定剂和助稳定剂用量的增加，聚苯乙烯微球的粒径减小；随着单体和引发剂用量的增加，聚苯乙烯微球的粒径增大．分散稳定剂和单体用量是影响聚苯乙烯微球粒径分布的两个主要内部因素．     

One Novel Vanadium-Phosphate Cluster [PV_(2.5)O_(8.5)]-3.83{H_2O} with Three-Dimensional Architecture

A novel vanadium-phosphate compound [PV_2.5O_8.5]·3.83{H_2O}(1)was obtained from the hydrothermal reac-tion and structurally characterized by elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction,which exhibited thatthe title complex crystallized in cubic space group I-43m with crystal data:a=1.6115(1)nm,V=4.1848(1)nm~3,Z=12,D_c=1.783 g/cm~3,F(000)=2278,R_1=0.0528,and wR_2=0.1329[I>2σ(I)](all data).The basic unit of{PV_2.5O_8.5}symmetrically extended to closed sphere-like structure of{P_4V_(10)O_(34)},which was further linked to in-terleaving three-dimensional network via sharing four phosphate through μ_3-oxygen atoms around the closedsphere-like structures.     

Synthesis and Characterization of Fluoro- and Chloro- bimetallic Alkoxides as Precursors for Luminescent Metal Oxide Materials via Sol-Gel Technique

Heterobimetallic alkoxides are broadly recognized as versatile precursors for luminescence materials, and efforts are being made to develop novel routes by applying the concept of geometrical molecular design, for their synthesis and to design a single source precursor suited to photoluminescent materials. Novel and new series of bimetallic alkoxides has been prepared by metathesis route. They exhibit a lower sensitivity towards hydrolysis and so they are easier to handle as compared to other alkoxides. All the compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and multinuclear NMR spectroscopies. FT-IR revealed that the molecular structure of these metal alkoxides was retained to a large extent in 4 ： 1 halogenated alcohol-benzene solution. The heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy provided useful information about chemical shifts for better understanding the likely structure based on interactions with their coordinate metals. The mass spectra show similar types of fragmentation pattern. SEM-EDS analyses showed consistency with the formulation. XRD patterns show an enhanced homogeneity at high temperature. TGA measurements show that thermal decomposition occured in steps that depended entirely on the chemical compositions and the synthesis routes. SEM observation reveals that the morphology and particle size strongly depend on synthesis routes for their precursors.

Quality assurance in research laboratories

During the last decade, it has become increasingly important that researchers demonstrate that research is conducted to the highest standards. The implementation of quality assurance for research laboratories will enable all fields of research and development to be judged impartially. There are no specific standards for research laboratories but where possible, existing standards can be adapted. This review is structured around two approaches. The first considers research to be a logical extension of testing, and it is assumed that testing standards can be applied methodically to each step in a research project. The second advocates a flexible approach, with research-specific criteria for assessing quality. The important papers published on this topic have been reviewed. The conclusions are that the general quality management approach, encompassed by the ISO 9000 series of standards with the emphasis on customer satisfaction and ‘fitness for purpose’, is suitable for implementing quality assurance in research laboratories.
