We extract a relatively precise value for the decay constant of the meson by measuring B(D+ --> mu+nu) = (4.40 +/-0.66(+0.09)(-0.12) x 10(-4) using 281 pb(-1) of data taken on phi(3770) the resonance with the CLEO-c detector. We find fD+ = (222.6 +/- 16.7(+2.8)(-3.4)) MeV, and compare with current theoretical calculations. We also set a 90% confidence upper limit on B(D+e+nu)< 2.4 x 10(-5) which constrains new physics models.  相似文献

We have studied the inclusive photon spectra in Upsilon(2S) and Upsilon(3S) decays using a large statistics data sample obtained with the CLEO III detector. We present the most precise measurements of electric dipole (E1) photon transition rates and photon energies for Upsilon(2S) --> gammachi(bJ)(1P) and Upsilon(3S) --> gammachi(bJ)(2P) (J = 0, 1, 2). We measure the rate for a rare E1 transition Upsilon(3S) --> gammachi(b0)(1P) for the first time. We also set upper limits on the rates for the hindered magnetic dipole (M1) transitions to the eta(b)(1S) and eta(b)(2S) states.  相似文献

We present the first study of the vector (Wess-Zumino) current in tau(-)-->K-pi-K+nu(tau) decay using data collected with the CLEO III detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. We determine the quantitative contributions to the decay width from the vector and axial vector currents. Within the framework of a model by Kühn and Mirkes, we identify the quantitative contributions to the total decay rate from the intermediate states omegapi, rho(')pi, and K*K.  相似文献

Detailed models of the RAFT polymerization in both non-segregated (bulk) and segregated (seeded emulsion) systems are presented. It is shown that satisfactory agreements between experiments and models can be achieved, and that effects such as inhibition and retardation, or the polymerization behavior at high conversions can be readily explained. In all cases the model parameter fitting has been minimized, being mostly limited to the rate coefficients of the addition/fragmentation reactions in the RAFT polymerization. Therefore, such models are believed to be invaluable tools towards a deeper understanding of the main phenomena underlying RAFT polymerization.  相似文献

In a recent work, Bodineau and Derrida analyzed the phase fluctuations in the ABC model. In particular, they computed the asymptotic variance and, on the basis of numerical simulations, they conjectured the presence of a drift, which they guessed to be an antisymmetric function of the three densities. By assuming the validity of the fluctuating hydrodynamic approximation, we prove the presence of such a drift, providing an analytical expression for it. This expression is then shown to be an antisymmetric function of the three densities. Drops impacting on horizontal aqueous surfactant films have been analyzed using a high-speed camera. Drops of either water or aqueous surfactant solutions had a diameter of 2.4?±?0.4 mm and impacted with a velocity of 0.1 to 1.3 m/s. As surfactants, anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate and cationic cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide were used. Pure water drops impacting on freestanding surfactant films showed coalescence, bouncing, partial bouncing, passing, and partial passing. For bouncing, the concentration of surfactant in the surfactant film must exceed the critical micelle concentration. When surfactant was added to the drop, coalescence and partial passing were suppressed. We attribute the different behavior to different hydrodynamic boundary conditions at the surface of pure water and surfactant solution, leading to different repulsive hydrodynamic forces arising when the air has to flow out of the closing gap between the two liquid surfaces. The boundary condition changes as a function of surfactant concentration from a slip to no-slip, leading to stronger hydrodynamic repulsion. In addition, estimates of the characteristic velocities show that diffusion of air into the water is slow and can only account for the very last thinning of the air gap before coalescence.  相似文献
