The Mössbauer technique has been used to study the oxidation of alloy 1.4306S (SS-304L) at 1200°C exposed in atmospheres of air and steam, for, 1, 6, 24, 100 and 400 hours. By oxidation in air the major products are -FE2O3, -FE2O3, and Fe3O4 while, during oxidation in steam they are -FeOOH, -Fe2O3 and Fe3O4. A minor phase detected following both kinds of oxidation may be ascribed to MnCrFeO4, Cr2FeO4, -FeOOH and -FeOOH produced in steam only while the base material is found following air oxidation. The proportion of Fe3O4 on the scale remains constant for all exposure durations in air oxidation, while it becomes constant in steam oxidation only in cases where the entire sample has been oxidized.  相似文献

We observe a room-temperature low-threshold transition to a coherent polariton state in bulk GaN microcavities in the strong-coupling regime. Nonresonant pulsed optical pumping produces rapid thermalization and yields a clear emission threshold of 1 mW, corresponding to an absorbed energy density of 29 microJ cm-2, 1 order of magnitude smaller than the best optically pumped (In,Ga)N quantum-well surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs). Angular and spectrally resolved luminescence show that the polariton emission is beamed in the normal direction with an angular width of +/-5 degrees and spatial size around 5 microm.  相似文献

Using an atomic force microscope (AFM) the interaction between an AFM tip and different planar solid surfaces have been measured across a long-chain poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS, MW = 18,000 g/mol), a short-chain PDMS (MW = 4200 g/mol), a poly(ethylmethyl siloxane) (PEMS, MW = 16,800 g/mol), and a diblock copolymer consisting of one PDMS and one PEMS block (PDMS-b-PEMS, MW = 15,100 g/mol). The interaction changed significantly during the first 10 h after immersing the solids in the polymer melt. This demonstrates that the time scale of structural changes at a solid surface is much slower than in the bulk. On mica and silicon oxide both polymers formed an immobilized “pinned” layer beyond which a monotonically decaying repulsive force was observed. Attractive forces were observed with short-chain PDMS on silicon oxide and PEMS on mica and silicon oxide. On the basal plane of graphite PEMS caused a stable, exponentially decaying oscillatory force.  相似文献

The adsorption of a polyclonal IgG mixture on a strong cation exchanger column is characterized using a detailed multi-component pore model. This model is explicit in all transport parameters and includes salt dependent isotherms. As discussed in the first part of this work, the IgG mixture can be simplified by considering two pseudo-variants only. Linear gradient experiments are used to fit the salt dependent adsorption isotherms and the mass transport parameters for the two pseudo-variants. Using the model, breakthrough curves are predicted with good accuracy. The model is also implemented to visualize the axial and radial concentration profiles of the two pseudo-variants in the column during a loading experiment.  相似文献

The macroscopic critical resolved shear stress (CRSS)τ of 9 body-centred cubic (BCC) and 5 face-centred cubic (FCC) metals has been found to vary with temperatureT in the range 0 to 300 K as given by: lnτ=A − BT, whereA andB are positive constants. Theτ−T data have been analysed within the framework of a kink-pair nucleation (KPN) model of plastic flow in crystals. The microscopic parameters of the unit activation process of yielding, e.g. the initial length of the glide dislocation segment, the critical height of the kink-pair nucleated in it, the activation volume associated with the CRSS, and the binding energy per interatomic spacing along the glide dislocation in the slip plane etc., have been evaluated. A consistent picture of the dislocation kinetics involved in the yielding of BCC and FCC metals emerges, which is adequately described by the KNP model of plastic flow in crystals.  相似文献

Strontianite nanowires have been synthesized on self-assembled monolayers (SAM) in the presence of polyacrylate templates. The morphology of this product exhibits characteristic differences from that of products obtained in the absence of polyacrylate. It is demonstrated that the template-induced crystallization process involves the interaction between the SAM surface, polyacrylate (a dissolved polyelectrolyte), and the cations/anions in solution. By the combination of these components, hierarchically ordered mineral hybrid structures are formed.  相似文献

A mixture of two polymer materials, poly (9,9‐dioctylfluorene) (F8), and one of the poly(para‐phenylenevinylene) derivatives, superyellow (SY) have been used to make F81?x:SYx polymer blend system. Under a 3–5 ns pulsed‐laser excitation, this system showed excellent optical properties with low threshold values of ≈14 µJ/cm2 and ≈8 µJ/cm2 for amplified spontaneous emission and optically pumped lasing, respectively.
