A Schiff base ligand (HL), 2,4-dimethoxy-N-(5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-benzenamine, derived from 5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 2,4-dimethoxyaniline, and its metal complexes [Co(L)2]·CH3OH (1), [Ni(L)2] (2), [Cu(L)2] (3) have been synthesized. The compounds were characterized by analytical and spectroscopic methods. In addition, the structures of the Schiff base HL and its Co(II) complex were determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. The Co(II) center is six-coordinate, being coordinated to two imine nitrogen, two phenolate oxygen and two methoxy oxygen atoms of two crystallographically independent Schiff base ligands. Luminescence properties of HL and its complexes were investigated both in solution and in the solid state. 相似文献

A new tetranuclear cyanide-bridged MnIII–FeIII complex based on manganese(III) Schiff base and hexacyanoferrate(III) units, [Mn(L)(MeOH)2][{Mn(L)}{Fe(CN)6}{Mn(L)(MeOH)}].2MeOH, [H2L?=?N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthalidenato)-1,2-diaminopropane] (1), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV–Vis, FT-IR, PXRD, single crystal X-ray analyses, magnetic and photoluminescence measurements. Complex 1 consist of one trinuclear cyanido-bridged anion, in which [Fe(CN)6]3? anion bridge [Mn(L)]+ and Mn(L)(MeOH)}]+ cations via two C≡N groups in the cis positions, and also one isolated manganese [Mn(L)(MeOH)2]+ cation. DC magnetic susceptibility and magnetization studies showed that complex 1 indicates an antiferromagnetic coupling between low-spin Fe(III) and high-spin Mn(III) through the cyanide bridges. In addition, the complex 1 displays a strong cyan-blue luminescence emission in the solid state condition at room temperature. This behavior might be seen easily from the chromaticity diagram. Thus, the complex may be a good promising cyan-blue OLED developing electroluminescent materials for flatted or curved panel display applications due to the fact that it has such features. 相似文献

This paper proposes an approximate adhesion model for fibrillar adhesives for developing a fibrillar adhesive design methodology and compares numerical simulation adhesion results with macroscale adhesion data from polymer microfiber array experiments. A technique for fabricating microfibers with a controlled angle is described for the first time. Polyurethane microfibers with different hardnesses, angles, and aspect ratios are fabricated using optical lithography and polymer micromolding techniques and tested with a custom tensile adhesion measurement setup. Macroscale adhesion and overall work of adhesion of the microfiber arrays are measured and compared with the models to observe the effect of fiber geometry and preload. The adhesion strength and work of adhesion behavior of short and long vertical and long angled fiber arrays have similar trends with the numerical simulations. A scheme is also proposed to aid in optimized fiber adhesive design. 相似文献

The effect of molecular mass on the segmental dynamics of poly(methyl acrylate) (PMA) adsorbed on silica was studied using deuterium quadrupole-echo nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and modulated differential scanning calorimetry. Samples adsorbed on silica (all about 1.5 mg PMA/m2 silica) were shown to have more restricted segmental mobility, and higher Tg's, than the corresponding bulk PMA samples. Around the glass-transition region, adsorbed samples exhibited segmental mobility, which could be classified as heterogeneous due to a superposition of more-mobile and less-mobile components present in the deuterium NMR spectra. This heterogeneity was consistent with a motional gradient with more-mobile segments near the polymer-air interface and the less-mobile species near the polymer-silica interface. The mobility of the adsorbed 77 kDa PMA sample was the lowest among the four different molecular-mass samples studied. Samples studied with masses both larger and smaller than 77 kDa had larger mobile-component fractions in the adsorbed polymer. The additional mobility was attributed to the presence of either longer tail and loop conformations in the higher molecular-mass samples or the inherent mobility of the tails in the lower molecular-mass samples on the surface. 相似文献

We develop a dynamic optimization technique for determining optimum folding pathways of proteins starting from different initial configurations. A coarse-grained Go model is used. Forces acting on each bead are (i) the friction force, (ii) forces from bond length constraints, (iii) excluded volume constraints, and (iv) attractive forces between residue pairs that are in contact in the native state. An objective function is defined as the total attractive energy between nonbonded residues, which are neighbors in the native state. The objective function is minimized over all feasible paths, satisfying bond length and excluded volume constraints. The optimization problem is nonconvex and contains a large number of constraints. An augmented Lagrangian method with a penalty barrier function was used to solve the problem. The method is applied to a 36-residue protein, chicken villin headpiece. Sequences of events during folding of the protein are determined for various pathways and analyzed. The relative time scales are compared and scaled according to experimentally measured events. Formation times of the helices, turn, and the loop agree with experimental data. We obtain the overall folding time of the protein in the range of 600 ns-1.2 micros that is smaller than the experimental result of 4-5 micros, showing that the optimal folding times that we obtain may be possible lower bounds. Time dependent variables during folding and energies associated with short- and long-range interactions between secondary structures are analyzed in modal space using Karhunen-Loeve expansion. 相似文献

Impinging air jets of various shapes, sizes and configurations are commonly used in heating, cooling and drying industrial processes. An analytical study has been carried out to optimise the thermal performance of single and multiple nozzle systems using impinging air jets. The optimisation of the nozzle array was given for practical purposes. The results show that within practical limits, a narrower nozzle size results in a greater heat and mass transfer coefficient. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) is used to investigate the effects of ionizing radiation on Ag-doped lithium tetraborate (Li2B4O7) crystals. Two similar, yet distinct, trapped-hole centers (Ag2+ ions substituting for Li+ ions) are produced by 60 kV x rays. One Ag2+ ion, labeled Center A, has no nearby defects and the other Ag2+ ion, labeled Center B, has a neighboring impurity which is most likely a Ag+ ion substituting for a Li+ ion. The production and thermal decay properties of the two Ag2+ ions are described and their g matrices and 107Ag and 109Ag hyperfine matrices are obtained from the EPR angular dependences. The principal values of the g matrices are similar for the two centers, but the hyperfine principal values differ significantly (Center B has smaller values than Center A). There are also differences in the directions of the principal axes for the two centers. Together, these results imply (1) that the unpaired spin is less localized for Center B and (2) that the ground-state positions of the neighboring oxygen ions are different for Centers A and B. This explains why the peaks of the Ag2+ charge-transfer photoluminescence bands associated with Centers A and B occur at different wavelengths (502 and 725 nm, respectively). An isochronal pulsed thermal anneal shows that these radiation-induced Ag2+ ions serve as the recombination site for the intense thermoluminescence peak observed near 152 °C. 相似文献

In this work, we perform first-principles DFT calculations to investigate the interplay between magnetic and structural properties in Ni(2)MnGa. We demonstrate that the relative stability of austenite (cubic) and non-modulated martensite (tetragonal) phases depends critically on the magnetic interactions between Mn atoms. While standard approximate DFT functionals stabilize the latter phase, a more accurate treatment of electronic localization and magnetism, obtained with DFT+U, suppresses the non-modulated tetragonal structure for the stoichiometric compound, in better agreement with experiments. We show that the Anderson impurity model, with Mn atoms treated as magnetic impurities, can explain this observation and that the fine balance between super-exchange RKKY type interactions mediated by Ni d and Ga p orbitals determines the equilibrium structure of the crystal. The Anderson model is also demonstrated to capture the effect of the number of valence electrons per unit cell on the structural properties, often used as an empirical parameter to tune the behavior of Ni(2)MnGa based alloys. Finally, we show that off-stoichiometric compositions with excess Mn promote transitions to a non-modulated tetragonal structure, in agreement with experiments. 相似文献

The polarized infrared reflection spectra of Li2B4O7 were studied in the spectral range 80–1600 cm?1 and compared with Raman spectra. From the spectrum dispersion analysis, the frequencies, damping, and dielectric oscillator strengths were determined for all vibrational modes observed. Polarized IR reflection spectra of Li2B4O7 crystals are studied in a spectral range of 80–1600 cm?1 and compared with their Raman spectra. Based on the results of the dispersion analysis of the spectra, the frequencies, damping constants, and oscillator strengths of all vibrations are determined. The inversion of frequencies of the longitudinal and transverse vibrations of the A 1 and E symmetry in a range of 900–1150 cm?1 is found. Based on the data thus obtained, the effective charges are calculated and the types of chemical bonds are analyzed for structural groups of the Li2B4O7 crystal. 相似文献
