Reactions of 3,5-di-tert-Butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl Acetate with Weakly Basic Nucleophiles

The acid dissociation of 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl acetate in the presence of bases or in dimethylformamide favors reaction of this compound with weakly basic nucleophilies.     

The structure and intermolecular interactions of N,N′-bis-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)urea

The molecular and crystal structure of N,N′-bis-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)urea has been established by single crystal X-ray diffraction and IR spectroscopy. There were also investigated intermolecular hydrogen bonds in its crystal and solutions.

Diffusion degradation model for a heterogeneous photoconducting system

It is shown that the excitation of the electronic subsystem in heterogeneous semiconductors causes the gettering (accumulation) of defects in regions where the diffusion coefficient of defects is low. This is because this parameter in the wide-gap (active) region of the material increases, remaining low in narrow-gap areas (drains). This effect improves the radiation hardness of the heterogeneous material, as demonstrated with the CdS-PbS system, which exhibits a limited series of solid solutions.     

Synthesis and antioxidant activity of modified sterically hindered phenols

Salicylaldehyde derivatives containing sterically hindered phenol fragments were synthesized. The compounds obtained are capable to offer protection against UV radiation.     

A cobalt(ii) acetate complex with 1-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione 3-thiosemicarbazone: synthesis and structure

A complex of Co^II with 1-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione 3-thiosemicarbazone was obtained and identified by X-ray diffraction, IR and Raman spectroscopy, and quantum chemical calculations. The characteristic C=S frequencies in the IR spectra of the thiosemicarbazones were refined. The data obtained from different methods were compared, which allows more accurate spectroscopic studies of related structures.
