The 9Be(32Ar, 31Ar)X reaction, leading to the 5/2+ ground state of a nucleus at the proton drip line, has a cross section of 10.4(13) mb at a beam energy of 65.1 MeV/nucleon. This translates into a spectroscopic factor that is only 24(3)% of that predicted by the many-body shell-model theory. We introduce refinements to the eikonal reaction theory used to extract the spectroscopic factor to clarify that this very strong reduction represents an effect of nuclear structure. We suggest that it reflects correlation effects linked to the high neutron separation energy (22.0 MeV) for this state. 相似文献

Reduced-order manifold approaches to turbulent combustion modeling traditionally involve precomputation of manifold solutions and pretabulation of the thermochemical database versus a small number of manifold variables. However, additional manifold variables are required as the complexity of turbulent combustion processes increases through consideration of, for example, multi-modal, non-adiabatic, or non-isobaric combustion, or combustion featuring multiple and/or inhomogeneous inlets. This increase in the number of manifold variables comes with an increase in the computational cost of precomputing a greater number of manifold solutions, most of which are never actually utilized in a CFD calculation. The memory required to store the pretabulated high-dimensional thermochemical database also increases, practically limiting the complexity of manifold-based combustion models. In this work, a new In-Situ Adaptive Manifolds (ISAM) approach is developed that overcomes this limitation by combining ‘on-the-fly’ calculation of manifold solutions with In-Situ Adaptive Tabulation (ISAT), enabling the use of more complex manifold-based turbulent combustion models. The performance of ISAM is evaluated via LES of turbulent nonpremixed jet flames with both hydrogen and hydrocarbon fuels. A performance assessment indicates that the computational overhead associated with ISAM compared to pretabulation ranges from negligible up to a factor of two, with most of this overhead associated with convolution of the thermochemical state against a presumed subfilter PDF. In addition, the memory requirements of ISAM are more than two orders of magnitude less than conventional tabulation. These results demonstrate the potential for ISAM to accommodate significantly more complex manifold-based combustion models. 相似文献

Evaporation residue cross sections have been measured with neutron-rich radioactive 132Sn beams on 64Ni in the vicinity of the Coulomb barrier. The average beam intensity was 2 x 10(4) particles per second and the smallest cross section measured was less than 5 mb. Large sub-barrier fusion enhancement was observed. Coupled-channel calculations taking into account inelastic excitation significantly underpredict the measured cross sections below the barrier. The presence of several neutron transfer channels with large positive Q values suggests that multinucleon transfer may play an important role in enhancing the fusion of 132Sn and 64Ni. 相似文献

The well-known method for the determination of selenium(IV), which is based on the cathodic stripping voltammetry of copper(I)
selenide, has been adapted for application at the thin-film mercury electrode on glassy carbon (TFME). Insufficient reproducibility
and sensitivity have been overcome by using a 0.1 mol/L HClO4 electrolyte solution containing 0.02 mol/L thiocyanate ions. Thiocyanate ions have been found to increase the peak height
of the selenium response and shift it to more positive potentials. This behaviour is explained by an adsorption of SCN– at the interface glassy carbon/Cu2Se and its action as an electron transfer catalyst between glassy carbon and copper(I) selenide. A 3σ-detection limit of 75
ng/L Se(IV) has been achieved. The relative standard deviation is 5.2% at 5 μg/L selenium(IV). The influence of cadmium(II), arsenic(III),
zinc(II), iron(III) and lead(II) ions on the selenium response has been studied. In case of lead ions, a new signal occurred
at more negative potentials than the reduction of Cu2Se. This signal, which is probably due to the reduction of PbSe, can also be used for the determination of selenium(IV).

Micro-Raman facet temperatures of high-power diode lasers with different waveguide architectures are compared. For regular
operation conditions, the thermal behavior of ‘unaged’ arrays emitting in the 808-nm wavelength region with different architectures
is similar, however, with an increased load thermal behaviors differ significantly and exhibit failure events at facet temperatures
typically between 150 and 450 °C. From various experiments, among them facet temperature measurements for ultrahigh-power
operation as well as by preparative failure analytics, we provide evidence that in arrays the front facets are significantly
affected by device operation and influence the failure behavior of the whole high-power diode laser also in cases when the
device failure is accompanied by dislocation creation inside the device.

In a recently published paper development of a sensitive automated “on-line” solid-phase extraction (SPE)/RP-HPLC assay for
6β-hydroxytestosterone (6β-OHT) with corticosterone as the internal standard (IS) was reported and its potential for quantification
of various testosterone metabolites in culture media reflecting metabolic activity of cultured human and animal hepatocytes
demonstrated [1]. In this following contribution the technique has been extended to determination of another five testosterone metabolites
in cultured rat hepatocytes using an identical “on-line” SPE/RP-HPLC procedure and detection by tandem MS-MS with an atmospheric
pressure chemical ionization (APCI) source in the selected reaction monitoring (SRM) mode as that described in [1]. All six testosterone metabolites, namely 2α-OHT, 2β-OHT, 6α-OHT, 6β-OHT, 7α-OHT and 16α-OHT, could be sufficiently separated
from each other and thus an unequivocal assignment to the individual structures was achieved. Validation data are presented
specifying the limits of quantitation as well as the mean values of the coefficients of variation (CV) for the target analytes
and the accuracy obtained at five different days. Regio- and stereoselective testosterone hydroxylation by rat hepatocytes
was measured in a long-term culture system with and without exposure to rifampicin as an inducer of liver CYP 3A4 activity.
In addition, testosterone hydroxylation was analyzed in cultures of cryopreserved hepatocytes that had been stored at −196 °C.
The rat hepatocytes were cultured after thawing for up to 11 days and induction of testosterone hydroxylase activity could
be demonstrated in cultures which underwent a new cryopreservation protocol.

Elastic scattering angular distributions have been measured for 58Ni+64Ni at three energies around the Coulomb barrier employing a new kinematic coincidence technique. The data are compared with the results of coupled-channels calculations including inelastic excitations as well as one-and two-neutron transfer reactions.
