Crystals of Ba(2)Cu(PO(4))(2) have been grown in a low-temperature eutectic flux of 32% KCl and 68% CuCl (mp = 140 degrees C). The X-ray single-crystal structure analysis shows that this barium copper(II) phosphate crystallizes in a monoclinic lattice with a = 12.160(4) ?, b = 5.133(4) ?, c = 6.885(4) ?, beta = 105.42(4) degrees, and V = 414.3(4) ?(3); C2/m (No. 12); Z = 2. The structure has been refined by the least-squares method to a final solution with R = 0.020, R(w) = 0.026, and GOF = 1.05. The framework of the title compound consists of [Cu(PO(4))(2)](infinity) linear chains with Ba(2+) cations residing between these parallel chains. The chains are composed of an array of Cu(2+) cations that are doubly bridged by PO(4) anions. Each pair of bridging PO(4) tetrahedra are in a staggered configuration above and below the CuO(4) square plane, resulting in a linear chain with a long Cu---Cu separation distance, 5.13 ? ( identical withb). This quasi-one-dimensional framework is unusual among the Cu(2+)-based phosphates. Magnetic susceptibility data shows Curie-Weiss paramagnetic behavior in the range of ca. 190-300 K and a possible antiferro-to-ferromagnetic transition at approximately 8 K. In this paper, the synthesis, structure, and properties of the title compound are presented. A structural comparison to a closely related vanadyl (VO)(2+) phosphate, Ba(2)(VO)(PO(4))(2).H(2)O, as well as Na(2)CuP(2)O(7) will be discussed.  相似文献

Vibrant blue crystals of Na(4)Mn(0.5)P(0.5)O(5) were synthesized via a sodium hydroxide flux. The X-ray structural analysis showed that this sodium manganese(VII) phosphorous oxide crystallizes in an orthorhombic lattice with a = 8.967(3) ?, b = 7.291(3) ?, c = 8.090(3) ?: Pnma (No. 62); Z = 4. The manganese and phosphorus cations equally share one crystallographic site and are tetrahedrally coordinated. The (Mn,P)O(4) tetrahedra are held together by sodium cations via Na-O bonds forming an ionic solid, [Na(4)O](2+)[(Mn(0.5)P(0.5))O(4)](2)(-). The synthesis, structure, thermal property and infrared spectroscopy of the title compound are presented in this paper.  相似文献

Background  

In order to optimize the potential benefits of neural stem cell (NSC) transplantation for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, it is necessary to understand their biological characteristics. Although neurotrophin transduction strategies are promising, alternative approaches such as the modulation of intrinsic neurotrophin expression by NSCs, could also be beneficial. Therefore, utilizing the C17.2 neural stem cell line, we have examined the expression of selected neurotrophic factors under different in vitro conditions. In view of recent evidence suggesting a role for the pineal hormone melatonin in vertebrate development, it was also of interest to determine whether its G protein-coupled MT1 and MT2 receptors are expressed in NSCs.  相似文献

Raman spectroscopy, which does not require a time‐consuming sample preparation, is described as an analytical tool for the high‐throughput characterization of polyethylenes. The content of comonomer and the amount of methyl groups per 1 000 carbon atoms of polyethylenes can be predicted from Raman spectra using multivariate data analysis. In addition, macroscopic properties, such as density and elastic modulus as well as yield stress, can be derived from Raman spectra.

Most ternary sulfides belonging to the MGaS2 structure‐type have been known for many years and are well‐characterized. Surprisingly, there have been no reports of the NaGaS2 composition, which contains Na, a monovalent cation slightly larger in size than Li, found in LiGaS2, a compound known for its non‐linear optical properties. Now it is demonstrated for the first time that the unique reversible water absorption in NaGaS2 has resulted in its absence from previous reports owing to difficulties encountered when characterizing this compound by SC XRD. The layered structure of this compound coupled with uniquely easy migration of water molecules between the layers allows for ion exchange with 3d and 5f metal cations. Some cations, for example, Ni2+, facilitate exfoliation of the layers, providing a facile synthetic route to a new class of 2D chalcogenide materials and furthermore demonstrating that NaGaS2 can readily uptake uranyl species from aqueous solutions.  相似文献

The origins for abrupt adhesion loss at a critical relative humidity (RH) for polymeric adhesives bonded to inorganic surfaces have been explored using a model poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) film on glass. The interfacial and bulk water concentrations within the polymer film as a function of D 2O partial pressure were quantified using neutron reflectivity. Adhesion strength of these PMMA/SiO 2 interfaces under the same conditions was quantified using a shaft loaded blister test. A drop in adhesion strength was observed at a critical RH, and at this same RH, a discontinuity in the bulk moisture concentration occurred. The moisture concentration near the interface was higher than that in the bulk PMMA, and at the critical RH, the breadth of the interfacial water concentration distribution as a function of distance from the SiO 2/PMMA interface increased dramatically. We propose a mechanism for loss of adhesion at a critical RH based upon the interplay between bulk swelling induced stress and weakening of the interfacial bond by moisture accumulation at the PMMA/SiO 2 interface.  相似文献

We utilize accelerated molecular dynamics to simulate alkane desorption from the basal plane of graphite. Eight different molecules, ranging from n-pentane to n-hexadecane, are studied in the low coverage limit. Acceleration of the molecular dynamics simulations is achieved using two different methods: temperature acceleration and a compensating potential scheme. We find that the activation energy for desorption increases with increasing chain length. The desorption prefactor increases with chain length for molecules ranging from pentane to decane. This increase subsides and the value of the preexponential factor fluctuates about an apparently constant value for decane, dodecane, tetradecane, and hexadecane. These trends are consistent with data obtained in experimental temperature-programed desorption (TPD) studies. We explain the dependence of the preexponential factor on alkane chain length by examining conformational changes within the alkane molecules. For the shorter molecules, torsional motion is not activated over experimental temperature ranges. These molecules can be treated as rigid rods and their partial loss in translational and rotational entropies upon adsorption increases as chain length increases, leading to an increasing preexponential factor. At their typical TPD peak temperatures, torsions are activated in the longer adsorbed chain molecules to a significant extent which increases with increasing chain length, increasing the entropy of the adsorbed molecule. This increase counteracts the decrease in entropy due to a loss of translation and rotation, leading to a virtually constant prefactor.  相似文献

A unique chain-rupturing transformation that converts an ether functionality into two hydrocarbyl units and carbon monoxide is reported, mediated by iridium(i) complexes supported by aminophenylphosphinite (NCOP) pincer ligands. The decarbonylation, which involves the cleavage of one C–C bond, one C–O bond, and two C–H bonds, along with formation of two new C–H bonds, was serendipitously discovered upon dehydrochlorination of an iridium(iii) complex containing an aza-18-crown-6 ether macrocycle. Intramolecular cleavage of macrocyclic and acyclic ethers was also found in analogous complexes featuring aza-15-crown-5 ether or bis(2-methoxyethyl)amino groups. Intermolecular decarbonylation of cyclic and linear ethers was observed when diethylaminophenylphosphinite iridium(i) dinitrogen or norbornene complexes were employed. Mechanistic studies reveal the nature of key intermediates along a pathway involving initial iridium(i)-mediated double C–H bond activation.
