Families of analytical solutions are found for symmetric and antisymmetric solitons in a dual-core system with Kerr nonlinearity and parity-time (PT)-balanced gain and loss. The crucial issue is stability of the solitons. A stability region is obtained in an analytical form, and verified by simulations, for the PT-symmetric solitons. For the antisymmetric ones, the stability border is found in a numerical form. Moving solitons of both types collide elastically. The two soliton species merge into one in the "supersymmetric" case, with equal coefficients of gain, loss, and intercore coupling. This contribution summarizes a novel approach to error-controlled model order reduction of second order systems, i. e. a new way to find a reduced order model of specified approximation quality. The paper gives first quantitative estimates on the modulus of continuity of the spectral measure for weak mixing suspension flows over substitution automorphisms, which yield information about the “fractal” structure of these measures. The main results are, first, a Hölder estimate for the spectral measure of almost all suspension flows with a piecewise constant roof function; second, a log-Hölder estimate for self-similar suspension flows; and, third, a Hölder asymptotic expansion of the spectral measure at zero for such flows. Our second result implies log-Hölder estimates for the spectral measures of translation flows along stable foliations of pseudo-Anosov automorphisms. A key technical tool in the proof of the second result is an “arithmetic-Diophantine” proposition, which has other applications. We prove that the dynamical system defined by the hydrodynamical Euler equation on any closed Riemannian 3-manifold M is not mixing in the Ck topology (k>4 and non-integer) for any prescribed value of helicity and sufficiently large values of energy. This can be regarded as a 3D version of Nadirashvili's and Shnirelman's theorems showing the existence of wandering solutions for the 2D Euler equation. Moreover, we obtain an obstruction for the mixing under the Euler flow of Ck-neighborhoods of divergence-free vectorfields on M . On the way we construct a family of functionals on the space of divergence-free C1 vectorfields on the manifold, which are integrals of motion of the 3D Euler equation. Given a vectorfield these functionals measure the part of the manifold foliated by ergodic invariant tori of fixed isotopy types. We use the KAM theory to establish some continuity properties of these functionals in the Ck-topology. This allows one to get a lower bound for the Ck-distance between a divergence-free vectorfield (in particular, a steady solution) and a trajectory of the Euler flow. 相似文献

A polygonal measure is the sum of finitely many real constant density measures supported on triangles in ?. Given a finite set S ? ?, we study the existence of polygonal measures spanned by triangles with vertices in S, all of whose harmonic moments vanish. We show that for generic S, the dimension of the linear space of such measures is \(\left( {_2^{|S| - 3} } \right)\) . We also investigate the situation in which the density for such measure takes on only values 0 or ±1. This corresponds to pairs of polygons of unit density having the same logarithmic potential at ∞. In a witness rectangle graph (WRG) on vertex point set P with respect to witness point set W in the plane, two points x, y in P are adjacent whenever the open isothetic rectangle with x and y as opposite corners contains at least one point in W. WRGs are representative of a larger family of witness proximity graphs introduced in two previous papers. We study graph-theoretic properties of WRGs. We prove that any WRG has at most two non-trivial connected components. We bound the diameter of the non-trivial connected components of a WRG in both the one-component and two-component cases. In the latter case, we prove that a graph is representable as a WRG if and only if each component is a connected co-interval graph, thereby providing a complete characterization of WRGs of this type. We also completely characterize trees drawable as WRGs. In addition, we prove that a WRG with no isolated vertices has domination number at most four. Moreover, we show that any combinatorial graph can be drawn as a WRG using a combination of positive and negative witnesses. Finally, we conclude with some related results on the number of points required to stab all the rectangles defined by a set of n points. 相似文献
