Calculations of the two-atom surface recombination rate for spinpolarized atomic hydrogen are carried out. Both the plane-wave Born approximation (PWBA) and the -dimensional distorted-wave model are employed. The field dependence forB=4 to 10 Tesla, and the temperature dependence for 0.2<T<1 K are examined for systems initially consisting of equal numbers ofa- andb-state atoms. The rates are analyzed with respect to para- and ortho-H2 production, and to recombination to various vibrational and rotational states of H2. The PWBA gives reasonable agreement with experiment with respect to the field-dependence and ortho-para production, but predicts an overall rate a factor of 40 above experiment. The -dimensional model underestimates the rate by a factor of 103 and yields poorer agreement with experiment than the PWBA for the field-dependence and ortho-para production ratio. These results point out the need for a proper many-body treatment.  相似文献

The behaviour of the doubletn-d scattering phase shift 2(k) at energies close to the three-particle threshold is studied analytically and numerically. The scattering parameters possess an anomaly associated with the low energy of the singletN-N virtual state. The anomaly manifests itself both as a bend in the energy dependence of the functionk cot(Re 2) in the range around 0.5 MeV and in the nonstandard behaviour of the break-up cross section near the threshold.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a combined production-transportation scheduling problem. The problem comprises a simple, two-machine, automated manufacturing cell, which either stands alone or is a subunit of a complete flexible manufacturing system. The cell consists of two machines in series with a dedicated part-handling device such as a crane or robotic arm for transferring parts from the first machine to the second. The loading of a new piece on the first machine and the ejection of a finished piece from the second machine are performed by dedicated automated mechanisms. The introduction of parts into the system is done n at a time, whereby the parts are reshuffled into a sequence that minimizes completion time. All processing and transfer times are considered deterministic—a reasonable assumption for a cell comprising a robotic transfer device and two CNC machining units. What complicates the problem is the assumption of a non-negligible time for the transfer device to return (empty) from the second machine to the first. The operation is a generalization of a two-machine flowshop problem, and is formulated as a specially structured, asymmetric travelling salesman problem. An approximate polynomial time 0(n log n) algorithm is proffered. The procedure incorporates a lower bound using the Gilmore–Gomory algorithm for the no-wait, two-machine flowshop problem.  相似文献

Monoclinic (N2H6)3Zr2F13·F crystallizes in space group P21-C 2 2 (No. 4) with unit cell dimensionsa=5.670(1),b=10.984(2),c=10.601(2) Å,=93.88(1)°,V=658.7(4) Å3 andZ=2. Two different types of N2H6 2+ ions are present. One is involved in strong H-bonds to F ions in infinite chains running along the a axis (the shortest N-F distance is 2.437(5) Å), and the other links the structure through weaker bi- and trifurcated H-bonds to fluorine ligands of the Zr2F13 5– ions. The N-N bond lengths range from 1.430(5) to 1.446(5) Å with apparently no meaningful correlation to the type of N2H2 2+ ions. The Zr2F13 5– ions have very nearly C2 point symmetry and are formed by joining two distorted bicapped trigonal prisms of ZrF8-units through a common face. Distances of Zr-F terminal bonds range from 2.015(2) to 2.112(2) Å and of bridging bonds from 2.133(2) to 2.212(2) Å. (N2H6)3Hf2F13·F is isomorphous. The vibrational spectra of the two compounds are nearly identical, with the exception of a strong infrared band, which is assigned to a stretching mode with the moving central atom within the anion. The anion part of the spectrum is simple, showing broad unresolved bands. The cation part shows two types of N2H6 ions. H-Bonding is strongly present in the spectra, but no simple correlations with the H-bond strength is evident.  相似文献

Numerical calculations are carried out within the framework of the ideal compressible gas model for the unsteady flows in rectangular cavities exposed to a supersonic external stream. The Euler equations are integrated by means of Godunov's finite-difference method [6]. On the basis of an analysis of the calculation results an expression is proposed for determining the possible frequencies of the flow rate oscillations in the cavity as a function of the free-stream Mach number M and the geometry of the cavity. Kraljevi, namely it is shown that there exists a Lebesgue measurable subsetA of the real line such that the set {c R: A + cA contains an interval} is nonmeasurable. This short study reports an application of the Shapley value axioms to a new concept of two-stage games. In these games, the formation of a coalition in the first stage entitles its members to play a prespecified cooperative game at the second stage. The original Shapley axioms have natural equivalents in the new framework, and we show the existence of (non-unique) values and semivalues for two stage games, analogous to those defined by the corresponding axioms for the conventional (one-stage) games. However, we also prove that all semivalues (hence, perforce, all values) must give patently unacceptable solutions for some two-stage majority games (where the members of a majority coalition play a conventional majority game). Our reservations about these prescribed values are related to Roth's (1980) criticism of Shapley's -transfer value for non-transferable utility (NTU) games. But our analysis has wider scope than Roth's example, and the argument that it offers appears to be more conclusive. The study also indicates how the values and semivalues for two-stage games can be naturally generalized to apply for multi-stage games.Earlier versions of this study were presented at the International Conference on Game Theory and its Applications, organized by Ohio State University in 1987, and at the Workshop on Mathematical Economics and Game Theory at Tel Aviv Unversity. This paper describes a numerical realization of an extended continuous Newton method defined by Diener. It traces a connected set of locally one-dimensional trajectories which contains all critical points of a smooth functionf: n .
