The A′1Π-X1Σ+ near infrared system of strontium oxide (SrO) was observed at high spectral resolution by measuring the chemiluminescence from a Broida flow reactor using a Fourier transform spectrometer. In total, 32 bands from , , were measured within the spectral region at a resolution of . Vibrational levels of the upper state were observed up to vA=4, and more than 5600 rotational lines were assigned. Incorporating previously published high resolution data for the A1Σ+-X1Σ+ system, a global fit to both data sets yields improved Dunham constants for the ground state and for the lower vibrational levels (vA=0, 1, and 2) of the A′1Π state. Because perturbations arising from interactions with the b3Σ+ and A1Σ+ states affect the higher vibrational levels of the A′1Π state more strongly, levels vA=3 and 4 were represented by effective band constants in the fits. RKR potentials for the X1Σ+,A′1Π, and b3Σ+ states have been generated utilizing all the available data, Franck-Condon factors have been calculated for the A′1Π-X1Σ+ system, and A′1Π∼b3Σ+ and A′1Π∼A1Σ+ perturbations are discussed.  相似文献

We report a protocol for on-chip electrophoretic sample loading and sample component separation in which each operation requires simultaneous control of the potential of only two electrodes: during the sample-loading phase, the potentials at the ends of the separation channel are electrically floating; during electrophoresis of the sample mixture down the separation channel, the potentials at the ends of the sample-introduction channel are floating. This method, which we call "floating-stacking," avoids the dispersion/distortion of the sample plug that is commonly associated with simultaneous electrical control of only two electrodes in a crossed-channel or offset-double-tee injection system. Further, when this floating loading/separation is done in the presence of back-transient-isotachophoresis, sample loss from the plug of material being injected is minimal and a significant concentration increase--up to 13x--of the sample components in the separated bands occurs relative to the commonly used "pinch-and-pull-back" technique (which requires simultaneous electrical control of four electrodes).  相似文献

Important structural and mechanistic details concerning the non-heme, low-spin Fe(III) center in nitrile hydratase (NHase) remain poorly understood. We now report projection unrestricted Hartree-Fock (PUHF) calculations on the spin preferences of a series of inorganic complexes in which Fe(III) is coordinated by a mixed set of N/S ligands. Given that many of these compounds have been prepared as models of the NHase metal center, this study has allowed us to evaluate this computational approach as a tool for future calculations on the electronic structure of the NHase Fe(III) center itself. When used in combination with the INDO/S semiempirical model, the PUHF method correctly predicts the experimentally observed spin state for 12 of the 13 Fe(III)-containing complexes studied here. The one compound for which there is disagreement between our theoretical calculations and experimental observation exhibits temperature-dependent spin behavior. In this case, the failure of the PUHF-INDO/S approach may be associated with differences between the structure of the Fe(III) complex present under the conditions used to measure the spin preference and that observed by X-ray crystallography. A preliminary analysis of the role of the N/S ligands and coordination geometry in defining the Fe(III) spin preferences in these complexes has also been undertaken by computing the electronic properties of the lowest energy Fe(III) spin states. While any detailed interpretation of our results is constrained both by the limited set of well-characterized Fe(III) complexes used in this study and by the complicated dependence of Fe(III) spin preference upon metal-ligand interactions and coordination geometry, these PUHF-INDO/S calculations support the hypothesis that the deprotonated amide nitrogens coordinating the metal stabilize the low-spin Fe(III) ground state seen in NHase. Strong evidence that the sulfur ligands exclusively define the Fe(III) spin state preference by forming metal-ligand bonds with significant covalent character is not provided by these computational studies. This might, however, reflect limitations in modeling these systems at the INDO/S level of theory.  相似文献

Pinning of the triple contact line adversely affects electrowetting on dielectric. Electrowetting response of substrates with contact angle hysteresis ranging from 1° to 30° has been characterized, and the results are interpreted within the framework of electromechanics corrected for pinning. The relationship between contact angle hysteresis, threshold potential for liquid actuation, and electrowetting hysteresis is quantified. Our results demonstrate that a modified electrowetting equation, based on balance of forces (including the pinning forces) acting on the triple contact line and on the drop, describes the electrowetting response of substrates with significant contact angle hysteresis. Finally, the surface properties of PDMS Sylgard 184 were found to be influenced by the electric field.  相似文献

The effects of the application of various DC magnitudes and polarities to an end-cap of a 3-D quadrupole ion trap throughout a mass spectrometry experiment were investigated. Application of a monopolar DC field was achieved by applying a DC potential to the exit end-cap electrode, while maintaining the entrance end-cap electrode at ground potential. Control over the monopolar DC magnitude and polarity during time periods associated with ion accumulation, mass analysis, ion isolation, ion/ion reaction, and ion activation can have various desirable effects. Included amongst these are increased ion capture efficiency, increased ion ejection efficiency during mass analysis, effective isolation of ions using lower AC resonance ejection amplitudes, improved temporal control of the overlap of oppositely charged ion populations, and the performance of "broad-band" collision induced dissociation (CID). These results suggest general means to improve the performance of the 3-D ion trap in a variety of mass spectrometry and tandem mass spectrometry experiments.  相似文献

This paper describes the position-sensitive light-collection system that we use in our fast-beam laser experiments. The collection system consists of fiber-optic bundles whose facets are arranged to accept light emitted from a beam of fluorescent atoms. The flexibility of the fiber bundles allows their use in scanning collection systems with precise position sensitivity. We describe calculations of geometrical collection efficiency using a numerical integration scheme and compare the results with measurements. We also compare the collection efficiencies of the different fiber bundle arrangements that we used as our apparatus evolved with the implementation of various improvements.  相似文献

We have considered, some physical problems that may adversely influence the voice of the older performer. The effective voice clinician has always had to borrow from various disciplines: voice science, otolaryngology, psychology, and speech-language pathology. Such eclecticism requires, however, that the clinician integrate the perspectives of these various disciplines into some kind of theoretical clinical bias. One bias might be that with greater use of instrumentation in voice therapy, the voice clinician must not substitute data collection for attending to the feelings of the patient. By using the clinical input from various disciplines, for example, voice clinicians might develop a useful clinical perspective that vocal hyperfunction is one of the primary causes of many voice disorders. Consequently, from such a clinical view might come a treatment perspective that can clearly define the problem (too much effort while speaking) and offer a rationale for voice remediation.  相似文献
